Image Comparison for Beginners!
Bigger drones like the Autel Lite Plus drone are typically known to have better cameras, but technology is advancing and smaller drones like the DJI Mini 3 Pro are now coming equipped with powerful cameras too! Beginners to these types of drones always want the best image straight out of camera without having to do extra work, so this video is designed to compare both stock images, to help you decide if it's worth carrying around the heavier drone for a better image!

Great comparison! The Autel Lite is a beast at night as well. The Mini 3 is not bad, but the Autel drones are in a different league. I’ve been waiting for this exact video. Thanks for posting it. Great channel.

A minor correction to the reviewer's commentary,, the Lite+ has the 1" RGGB sensor filter, it's the LITE & Nano+ that have the 0.8" RYYB sensor filter. The Lite+ shows off more dynamic range than the Mini 3, and more image detail in your zoomed shots. The shadows from the Mini 3 can't match the Lite+. Colours can be post edited to your preference for either drone . But the Mini 3 is certainly a good package for a sub 250g drone.

The Mini 3, which is a sub 250 gram drone really holds up well against the more expensive Lite Plus drone. The camera did seem better in many instances on the Lite Plus, but it costs twice as much as the Mini 3. You can't go wrong with either drone, just depends your budget, and whether you need a sub 250 gram drone. Great testing, and thanks for sharing.

Nice comparison. I know you love the portability of the Mini 3 and the great pro features it has. Still on auto, believe the Evo Lite Plus has super color tech and sharpness. Love my Evo Lite Plus. Plus Xavier, thanks for being the first to tell me about BH Photo and PayBoo. Saving all my taxes. Just bought Avata- Fly More. Even getting non drone gear - saving on taxes. Great store, great deal!!!

I always felt the Autel drones have a better-looking sky. Now that the Mini 4 Pro is out, would you say it competes better with the Autel Lite?

It's crazy that's you're comparing weight. I mean, you're talking 4 lbs for the Evo Lite plus. I'll carry that drone around any day.

A suppose it's what you're eye sees in the image but definitely both were very close I always flim in decinalike anyway and weight mini 3 pro wins hands down if you're walking or cycling but if I'm driving I'd probably bring both so if it's windy the bigger drone can handle it a lot better happy flying cheers col from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

By far Autel when you did the 3x zoom dji looks a litlle blurry the camera is better quality and the sensor as well

I ended up getting the mini 3 pro, and have decided to “fix” the controller with the 4Hawks Raptor SR Range Extender…. Hopefully that will fix the range issues.

Biggest Gripe I have with DJI color science is the lack of any color in darker areas. I can see the same issue with Action 3 footage as well, both standard and d-cinelike profiles. Shadows have no definition and turn gray and black... (starting at 9:20) Would you mind posting at the official DJI Mini 3 Pro product forum? I will start shooting by tomorrow and try to create some colorspace conversions, but the lack of chroma information in darker areas leaves me worried. Hoping for some improvements from DJI. 9:56 I got some footage from a friend who shot a wedding with some shots on the DJI Mini 3 Pro showing people, some in the shadows which basically turned gray 😵‍💫

9:50....exactly what I've been saying. Video quality between the two is barely noticeable except to those of us who notice it. The slightly heavier saturation is why I went back to Autel. Which leads to a "to each his own" kind of thing. It's a matter of what pleases your own eye.

I think the choice would be depend on what the footage would be used for. The Lite+ will give you more to work with but maybe that's not needed. I like them both. The M3p is a little powerhouse in its own right.

Pretty comparable video from both, but the weight, or lack of, is what I’m considering nowadays having dumped my DSLRs for a mirrorless set so my shoulders are grateful to DJI for the Mini 3 Pro.

I have the Mini 3 and the Nano PLus and after 2 months with both I still waffle the discission over which one to take. Mini 3 Handles much better but the Nano has a longer range. In Auto I prefer the Mini 3 colors but the Nano pictures. My solution........ got a little bit bigger camera bag.......Silly ain't it

For those interested in "color" : Take the following test. Film yourself, with the drone, at distances of 2-5 meters. (place the drone in a stable position, not flying!). You will see which drone looks more like a mobile!!! You will see the FOCUS... Problems cannot be seen from above. You will find how it "renders", skin color and other interesting things.... The Autel's color "science"? It's like orange-teal. Much worse in low light (sunset etc). Need to put manual sharpening and saturation ASAP!!!

I think it's pretty much 6 one way half a dozen the other I like the mini 3 pro's video because to me it looks more like what the human eye would see but then I like the Autel lite plus video because the color saturation is better and looks nicer that way so either way I would be more than happy with either as a raw video

No love for the Air2s? In 2022, it is still the go to budget friendly Drone 5k video, 10 bit color, d log, etc. The mini 3 pro is great for social media and social media only. The Mavic 3 or the Air2s is your go to Drones for professional work

Autel cameras have been better since the Evo 1 vs MP, then vs M2P. Evo II camera crushes most of the foldables, and the Lite camera is basically an Evo II camera with much higher DR than any of the smaller Mini's. Autel seems to provide far more in camera image quality for every bird made, and DJI adds the niceties that some people want. For hobby stuff any of these are fine.. even the Anafi. We do commercial work with our birds, and we compared the Lite versions vs the MA2, and the camera of the Lite series just bury the MA2. Our M3P we tested vs the older E2P, and the E2P image quality in photos and videos just look better. For indoor shoots of RE jobs, large pool enclosures on high end properties we tested the Nano + vs Mini 3P. We liked the M3P a lot but the video and images were nowhere close. Autel didn't add the Mini 3P features, but we never use half of that stuff. The camera and IQ is what decides our drone fleets. We still kept 2 of the Mini 3's we bought for agents that may decide on a SM Reel clip. For us really, it's not a deal breaker to have a portrait option, but if asked.. we have those. Agents look at this stuff as well. Being on the Atlantic coast, you need at least the Lite size and weight, but really are better served with a much heavier, and bigger drone. There are dozens of drones that wash up on these shores... mostly Mini's. Mostly users that fly out over the ocean or rivers downwind, stay there too long, and cannot return upwind... fatal mistake but often common here. We also decided on many purchases of the 8" Tripltek pro. Very nice monitor in our crazy FL sun. We have the Autel SC and DJI SC as well, but it's actually nicer to have one tablet that works with any drone. The only thing I wished was that Tripltek have an HDMI input... so many other uses for that system. Great video comparison, and interesting post edit stuff, but the Autel camera is still unbeaten for now.. E3P will have the RYYB camera setup in 1" or 4/3 from what is rumored. That will be interesting.

Umm... I can't believe that you never mentioned the Mavic 3. Here you are comparing the $700 Mini 3 Pro vs the $1500 Lite+ and $1800 Evo2 Pro drones but leave out the $1000 Air2s and $2000 Mavic 3. BTW I've seen the Autel V3s, hung out with the CEO of Autel and talked to Drone Jesus, I don't think there's a Evo 3 Pro around the corner... It's possible but I guarantee it'll cost at least $2500 for the drone alone. Their new controllers look good though! BTW if you have the Smart Controllers, the best move is to get the LifThor mounts for your Smart Controllers and a Monitor. Feelworld sells 7" 2200 nit monitors for $200 and a 10" 2200 nit model for $300. That way you have the native 5.5" and a 7 or 10" if necessary. Besides, the Mavic 3 Enterprise is coming out next month and considering the specs... well you'll see.

Been wanting to upgrade my 250g drone but neither m3p nor nano+ are compatible with mapping software (sometimes I don’t need/care to lug my air2s or phantom), where as the mini 2 is compatible with map pilot pro. Odd lol. How does the nano+ compare to the m3p with wind tolerance? I like what the mini has to offer and DJI’s customer service is top notch from my experience, but that dynamic range tho
