Going out with my DJI Mini 3 drone for the second time. Went to Bolton Abbey after my run on Barden Fell, in North Yorkshire.
Used the DJI Mini 3 camera and the DJI Osmo Action 4 to capture footage, and the Action 4 to capture audio, exporting the 4K files into 1080P for export after editing in Lightworks, with NewBlue Titler Pro 7 for effects..
Some more noob mistakes and a scary moment or two. I need to practice more.
Please subscribe and help me to build a channel. More good videos coming.

Action 4 video is too dark! As a new pilot you should stay away from trees and fences especially when it's windy! Don't push your luck! I suggest you watch many videos on RU-vid, how to fly your mini. When it forces landing you can still drive that thing and land it where you want.

On both counts, I agree. I didn't change my exposure setting on my Action 4, and I thought I could control the drone better being close to the ground where I could see it easily at all times (scared of going higher and scared it was too windy up there), but realised afterwards I need to stop doing that and get the thing high up above all obstacles quickly, set my RTH height at a reasonable level above all obstacles, and ensure my Home Point has no obstacles either. Then I won't have to be too concerned about getting it out from under trees (like this time) if it tells me it's doing an auto RTH. Rookie error. I tried to override the forced landing, but I got flustered and forgot which stick was up-down and which was forward-back. And it was too high for me to see any change. So I just let it do its thing. I'll get better. Lots more practice before I go anywhere more challenging. Thanks for the advice. Best wishes.

Hi mate welcome to the drone world, as a novice myself I suggest you watch videos of experienced flyers and learn from them, loads of videos to watch on RU-vid. They are too expensive to crash😂 I have a DJI mini 3.

Aye, been watching many videos, still making mistakes lol

@@MondyMedia wherever your drone takes off from is return to home, so if you move your drone will go back to where it took off from, hope this helps.

@@adriansmith8264 but if you walk away while flying you can update your home point to your new location. I just didn’t know if I’d accidentally updated the home point or forgotten I had done it purposefully

Altitude you need altitude get up there.

Completely agree. Just a bit wary yet - but I think lack of altitude causes me other problems. That is my plan.

"Where the **** is home ?" The clue was in the message given just after take-off. You know the one, it said "home point updated" "Stop going so high" What have you got the RTH height set to ? You were, of course, keeping an eye on the remaining estimated flight time displayed on the controller, or maybe not By the way, this is not drone training it is drone learning

@@Bob_Burton I didn’t know if I’d pressed a button and updated the RTH home point. I was hoping I hadn’t. RTH was at 100m, I’ve set it lower but need to remember to update it for each flight. Learning is a good word.

@@MondyMedia You can update the home point after take-off but it cannot be done using a single button press. I suggest that you investigate the menus You should not need to reset the RTH height for every flight, but it is a good idea to check it along with the associated settings such as the action to be taken on loss of signal. This is particularly important after a firmware update of the drone or controller

@@Bob_Burton exactly what I plan to do - to me that’s the purpose of doing my training, to determine the things I should be doing which I am not
@Bob_Burton

@@MondyMedia I am afraid that you are not doing any training, rather you are blundering around making mistakes For instance, do you check how many satellites are in range before you take off and do you check whether there are any flight restrictions in your area ? I suspect not As a matter of interest, have you got an Operator ID and is it displayed on the drone ?

@@Bob_Burton Yes, all of those things. I am happy to admit I have little practical experience, but I have the full theoretical background and legal aspects in place. I am a nervous noob who is trying to learn the controls and the vagaries of the model so that I can become competent. It will take time. Unfortunately you seem to be an arrogant know it all who could clearly just pick the thing up and were an immediate expert. I’ve had enough of listening to your condescending tripe; others have made good suggestions that I will take on board. You are now just insulting and overbearing. Go annoy someone else please.
