DJI Mini 4 Pro! Introduction and First Flight at The Snake River Canyon 

lol every time I hear snake River Canyon, I think of EVEL KNIEVEL ! 😂 😮

This is the best of about 100 videos I have watched so far on the Mini 4 Pro. Thank you!!!

I am 66 now, and in my younger days I would do a TON of hiking throughout the west. (I’m from GA) Now that I own and fly the mini 4 I will most certainly head west to film those areas I’ve hiked that I can no longer reach. (Hip replacement & 2 knee replacements) you are VERY fortunate to live in the area you do! And, that was a totally awesome flight! Tracking the boat was very cool. You have a new sub’r, and I love your vids. Thanks for all the tips.

Another amazing video!! As a new subscriber I'm making my way through all your content!! A recent buyer of the mini 4k, this mini 4 pro has me intrigued!! I may upgrade sooner rather than later! You have some beautiful scenery in Idaho! I'm in Massachusetts, 30 miles west of Boston and on Cape Cod 5 months out of the year.. lots of ocean scenery but these canyon and giant reservoir shots you get are truly spectacular!! Keep up the great work!

Not worrying about doing sth. like this as the first flight with a completely new drone shows how much trust DJI has earned over the years. Well done!

Hi Marcus, Thanks for this new awesome video. Did you notice that the boat and the trail drawn on the water made the whole thing look like an astronaut in his white suit? Maybe the drone was intimidated at first when seeing this figure, before tracking it correctly! 😊

It is a good weekend for flying. Managed to do a drone flight at Rose Lake near Couer d Alene today before heading to Lookout Pass and Wallace before heading back. Yeah I live in Spokane Valley now. Used to love in Snohomish until May and moved to Spokane Valley in late June, so I live alot closer to the Idaho Border than I used to. Probably won't be visiting the Boise area anytime soon (would be a lengthy trip there), however the Post Falls and Couer d Alene areas are relatively close by, and I have already found a few good spots to fly at there. Yeah probably won't be upgrading tonthe Mini 4 pro or Air 3 at this time, but I can reconsider those ones at a later time (maybe a year or so from now). Will probably shop for ones with remote id already built in whenever I buy another one.

How nice of mother nature to flow water over a path of soft minerals to be carried away for many thousands of yaers, leaving a giant chasm to which a man named Marcus (luckily for us) would eventually take up the drone hobby and take aireal footage of this treasure (whch is conveniently located in his State of Idaho) and share its breathtaking beauty with the rest of the world on the new DJI Mini 4 Pro! Love the video, love this little drone. I bought it but haven't use it yet. I think this drone came with rain include in the bundle because it haven't stopped raining since i bought it, lol. 😂

When I first purchased my mini 3 pro I just bought the drone with the N-1 controller that came with the original battery that keeps the drone under 250 grams. When flying it in windy conditions I noticed it was having some trouble when flying forward it would drift off to the left side causing me to constantly keep adjusting the yaw so I ordered the fly more kit that I had found with the extended battery plus. When I got the fly more kit I switched the batteries and tested it again and it held the wind much better. Even though it makes the drone over 250 grams it doesn’t matter because I register all my drones anyway. Regardless of weight. After the mini 3 was released I purchased it and it did the exact same thing as the mini 3 pro drifting off in the wind but I started using the heavier batteries with it also. And after that no problems. I actually did a range test and my mini 3 made it further out than the mini 3 pro surprisingly. I ordered the mini 4 pro so I am waiting for delivery. But I figure I will use the heavier batteries with it also. But after some testing I will see. I love the O4 with the Air 3 absolutely amazing strength. I have so much interference where I live and the extra signal strength makes a huge difference.

Marcus, EXCELLENT, good one with tracking experience, I enjoyed this bird very much. Amazing how low it went and the trace ws good before it stopped. Amazing how it orbited the boat and it was so cool. Word of caution I read Oa does work really well at high speeds as it needs time to react so be a bit careful. I think normal mode might exceed it ability to avoid as you saw in the low flying canyon rim. It is a wonderful drone though so I am very pleased with it. Thanks, Ray C.

It's refreshing to see how elated, for us, Marcus to witness the drone finds the landing pad every time he lands one:) Damn, I feel the same way actually and even pat my drone saying "Good job! (Name of drone). That's I think is a product of anxiety and joy when flying a drone - every time. We still have not fully embraced the reliability of these drones. Just my 2 cents. Yes, the landscape is amazingly massive and beautiful I even did a screen shot of it for a possible wallpaper. Thnks!

Very nice drone. I won't be upgrading from my Mini 3 Pro, however, since the camera is still the same, even though the available formats have been upgraded. The new features are all very nice to have, but they're not sufficient in and of themselves for me to upgrade. To me, the Mini 4 Pro is what the 3 could have been and should have been, and the Mini 5 Pro will be what the 4 could have been and should have been, with (hopefully) upgrades like the stacked sensor. Just as I believe the Air 3 S and/or the Air 4 will be what the Air 3 could and should have been. Just my opinion, based on how I use my drones.

Go! Lol. Got mine yesterday. Loving the little guy- much to explore, Active Track 360 primarily. Its quite amazing. Also this is the first Mini with Precision Landing - confirmed working! Mini 3 Pro was proof of concept. This is all that plus some real refinement! No 10 m/s descending like Air 3 though!

Great video thanks, loving these snake river canyon flights. I’m wondering if the Mini 4 Pro fly more kit bag is any larger than the Mini 3 Pro fly more kit bag ? I bought the Mini 3 fly more kit a little while back, but got the Mini 4 pro this week, and I couldn’t find a good way of getting the Mini 4 and RC2 controller into the Mini 3 kit bag without really squashing it in, so gave up and have a second Symik case arriving today for it.

Nice boat chase at the canyon Marcus! How do they fit all that tech in a mini drone?! Looks like the mini 4 pro is a winner. How is the RC2 compared to the original RC? I really notice a difference in screen response between the RC pro and my RC controller and hopefully there has been some improvement in the RC 2. Hanging on to my mighty mini 3 pro for now.

Please excuse if these are stupid questions but I have a couple being that I am new to drones. I just ordered the Mini 4 Pro combo. 1. Since it is under 250g do you still have to register it? 2. Is there an app that tells you where the no fly zones are, etc? I know about UAV Forecast but thats more for weather, correct? Appreciate any help as I want to get some footage when I go up the mountains camping.

Hey Marcus! I think the canyon looks even better with the soft light from the cloud cover. I've definitely got to visit the canyon some day to fly my drone. With the exception of the camera, it seems to have all the functions of the Mavic 3 Pro. I looked at the M4P online. The Plus option is 60 dollars more, but DJI's site doesn't say why. Does that option come with the extended range batteries? Thanks for another fun video!

Hya Marcus, I messed up on a hyperlapse yesterday with a great flight and here is what I did. I set the controller down when doing these long hyperlape scens so I pick up some bush debris and other things while waiting til near the end BUT: yesterday it was perfect for one, and saw when I sat the controller down on a fence area it had pressed the c2 button pointing the camera down to the ground so I blew that flight stupidly. I was fortunate to get a very similiar cloud movement and widn again today so I may have what I desired anyway. I often pay no attention on the screen once it starts correctly. Stupidly with the screen showing me the view I was so involved with the settings I never looked back at the screen. I have 2 full charges on the low power battery today and I actually had about 30 minutes of flight time so did a second hyperlapse because I always end them with the bird actually flying back home so I do not need much battery when finished with the process. I NEVER use the optical avoidance as I am up around 400 feet. The Coast guard had not returned yet today so I had to stay at that height in case as they come in about 200 feet and I live right in the flight path!!! Yesterday was so good as I was about 1,000 feet and the hyperlapse was ending in a perfect sunset and the landing light even came on when landing. But since I blew it with setting down the controller I had ground images, how stupid. I did turn on that really bright LED on the bottom when high up yesterday and it is so bright in made like an umbrella of light way up high. It is really something how brightness power that little LED is really! I will put the files together and create a video from today placing both files together into one joined and it should be really good as the sky was a beautilul zure blue with the redness starting to appear. Luckily the was was partly hidden by clouds so it is not blown out from brightness. I want to get the flight times from the air controller soon so I can up and to the side when those two large 4 engine rdial engines arrive. They are big aircraft but I never seem to be up when they arrive. I would love to be at 200 feet and to one side when they arrive but it is different every day. There a lot of cariables each day from what is going on, weather, sun, time, clouds, so it never the same. I still have never had the time to do a laugh reverse & up right on the rumway rolling down and then up in reverse making a video like a rear gunner, LOL. That I have to call in cause I can not fly over there as it is only about 5 miles from my home so a waste of time friving over witout permission. They are kind enought to me already as they know I am up ofter as they can tell. It is still hard because there is also military aircraft there on high notice as well. I have to obey SOME RULES, Right?

Hi Marcus greetings I'm here again. After airborne until you landed how was the body temperature like compared to m3 and m3 pro.? My m3 issue is when you are airborne and become hot the controller goes off and the aircraft return back home. My regards to everyone. Welbeck here
