Love seeing the new features! The omnidirectional sensors and 360 active tracks are the main new features I would use. But the Mini 3 Pro is staying for a while yet, I love it
No-one seems to have mentioned the return of the front legs! I believe in the Mini 2 these housed the antennae and some concluded that the perceived lack of range of the Mini 3 Pro was partly down to this. It's good to see them back, added to the RC2's external antennae and the use of O4 now, range issues should be a thing of the past.
And you can use the Mini 2 Controller with the new Mini 4 Pro! That's a deal breaker for me and I'm getting one. People can say what they want...This Drone is the Mini 2 on steroids 😎
@@MatanumiI owned every DJI mini model. Now have mini 3 pro. Not a single crash. It gets tiring though to buy new drone every year. I could not even sell my mini 2 for any meaningful sum. So yes - mini 3 pro will stay with me for a while.
Yea I'd stick with it not much of an upgrade If you ask me. Get the air 3 if you want an upgrade. The stacked sensors and zoom camera are crazy good not to mention the fly time blows this little guy away
Check out the 4s max height limit compared to the 3.. from what I can see its 120m above the controller with no option to increase if your flying over high ground. The 3 can be increased to 500m which is useful in hills and mountains.
Wow 3 weeks ago i bought Mini 3 Pro for my Arizona trip, and here we have even better DJI 4Pro!!! Thank god i still had 10 days left for returning or exchange, so i went to B&H and was able to exchange Mini 3 Pro for Mini 4 Pro without paying extra! Im the happiest right now….
I actually bought a Mini 3 Pro two weeks ago…. I will be returning it. Still in the window for that. I didn’t know this was coming, but wow this is an upgrade.

DJI did a great job with this new drone, however, as owner of the M3P I will not upgrade. Waiting for the mini 5 with a clear improvement of the camera.
If you are in EU there is literally no reason to upgrade from 3 Pro. Range is capped at CE regulation no matter what Occusync you have on board. Otherwise should be called Mini 3 Pro S.
ill be sticking with my 3 pro. Hopefully they will give the 3 pro a big software update because some of these improvements can be had on the mini 3 too. upgrade can be a 5 pro
The 1 big area I thought was very much lacking on the M3 Pro and to a similar extent with the Mini 2 was the signal strength in CE locations. So it is nice to see they have improved it with that new controller and the use of external antennas.
Just got my M3Pro a month ago before my yearly vacation to Chile, HAD to bring a drone lol, considered selling and getting the M4Pro.. but i think I'll take that little difference in money and put towards an FPV kit ❤

When will DJI get it together on having ND filters available for their new drones when the new drones become available? Wouldn’t it be nice to include the filters for folks buying the more expensive bundles? The unavailable ND filters are always the missing link!
This might seem a strange question, but having a look on the DJI website, the battery and camera look very similar to the Mini 3 pro, so the question is, will my batteries from the mini 3 pro and my ND Filters fit on the Mini 4 pro?

What about the C0 Cert in the EU and the flight restriction from only 120 m even if you are in der Mountains. This is a big Dealbreaker I would say. Anyway it's a good drone. but....
Great video but ….. My understanding is that the Mini 3 and Mini 4 controllers are not interchangeable. Maybe some clarification is in order. As a suggestion, you could have mentioned the 360 degree camera.

3 questions, Are the batteries from the mini 3 pro work in the mini 4? does mini 3 pro nd filters work on the mini 4? does any other mini 3 items (i.e. props) work on the 4? i just bought my mini 3 pro in july with all the bells and whistles and if i knew this was coming i would of waited
Are the propellers still locked down with Lock Tight glue? It looks like they did. You can't get these off if you need to replace them. This was a huge problem on the 3 model.

I just learned that if you use the mini 3 pro batteries in the 4, that you go over the weight of 249 grams. And if you purchase the new batteries on the fly more plus package it also brings you over the 249grams. ?? so purchasing the fly more package with less flight time will keep you under that weight.

You know I was already setting my sights on the Mini 3 Pro, now the Mini 4 Pro seems to have everything you have mentioned what the Mini 3 Pro was missing. Especially with Waypoints, and now 360º Active Track??? Amazing!! Better than I could expect! I'm a little late to the party, but thanks as always for your super informative review. Yes. Given how many times I've crashed multiple DJI mini drones over the years, it's definitely time to trade in my mini 3. There are so many new features with this new drone I cannot wait to try.
48mp camera feature is hidden under the three dots menu only when in photo mode , you can select either 12M or 48M so far ive found that when 48m is selected you can do a 3 shot AEB , but not a 5 ot 7 shot one ,obviously you cannot zoom as you are using all the sensor . ive yet to try and see if it will do all the pano shots in the 48MP mode but alas the wind got up and it started pissing down before i could test all the pano modes .. but being able to set it to use 12 or 48 is nice even if its takes a little longer to select A toggle menu on the main screen would be nice perhaps a button where it used to be DJI and whichever is selected put the number above or inside the camera screen icon or shot take button ?? . 48MP raw files are pretty big so the shot count goes way down 🙂
no panos in 48mp . only 12mp 😞the only extra 48mp thing that this drone does over the mini pro 3 is a 3 shot AEB .. but getting to select the 48mp mode is a little more awkward..
Using waypoints I am assuming that if I fly from point A make three waypoints and save the flight. Then move to point B say 100yds and 50 ft higher and load the waypoints the drone will still perform accurately. Or is the take off point critical. Thanks.
@@charlesalbert8524 cool thanks! From what I can tell, the batteries are technically compatible but would take you over the 250g limit, but it would be great for someone who's got a mini 4 pro to verify this. Glad I just bought a load of new ND filters for my mini 3 pro 😭
Is it true that the M4P comes limited to 120mtrs altitude out of the box now, or is there a firmware update that removes that limitation (just curious, not looking for all the rule breaker replies lol)
It's a stupid limitation if true... and it doesn't involve rule breaking. You may wish to start a flight down in a valley and fly up into mountainous terrain. You may more than 120m up from your starting point but still legally less than 120m from the terrain you've flown too.
@@jonhatcher788 Totally agree, I have my A2 CofC & GVC etc, I just know the moment you start asking about altitude limitations, people instantly presume you want to break the rules. haha - Very very stupid if true, haven't managed to verify it as yet though.
It seems that the Mini 4 Pro has the problem of 120m max altitude over ground from startpoint. So avoiding angry birds by flying up, or flying up a mountain to shoot the castel on top of it, might be impossible to do when you start from the mountain base, even when flying over higher ground like a mountain top is total legitimate. Anny information if this is a software bug to be corrected in the future, or a feature due to the C0 certification? It really sucked when DJI did this to the Mini 3 Pro and they corrected it, but the Mini 3 Pro has no C0 certification.

Can you raise the altitude limit above 120m after updating to 1.12.0? Not sure if UK still has the same drone rules as EU, but it seems that for my Mini 4 Pro in EU there is no option to set it above 120m after updating. (Perhaps it has something to do with the official C0 label on this drone)

I think i already know the answer to this but if i upgraded from the Mavic pro original to this drone would I be satisfied? i take commercial pictures for real estate and construction companies and i think its time for the upgrade. is this truly a do it all drone? can it still handle the big jobs even tho its a mini. obviously the camera quality is a big upgrade which is good for my pictures. curious if it stands tall in the wind and in cities around alot of big buildings. I have a quick question about the controller. With the new controller (RC2) is there RTMP as an option for streaming the live drone view?!?! I saw on a DJI forms page that it was but I wanted to verify that RTMP is on the drone before I buy it! Thanks so much!
So I guess it has it all, does that mean DJI will cease making the M3P?? Or even some of the more expensive drones?? I can't help thinking that they have taken a leaf out of Apples book, new drone every year and make all previous drone obsolete !!! people that have just taken delivery of their M3P must be kicking themselves. I have a M3P, totally satisfied and I don't use anywhere near all its features and I am sure that a very large majority of its users will be in the same boat. It's not worth the upgrade from a M3P IMHO, but as a first time buy, super, you get it all. That said, your videos are always top and I enjoy looking at them all.
The Mini 4 Fly More Combo is cheaper than Mini 3? It could be me that can’t add up. Are the filters that fit mini 3 compatible with 4? And the batteries?
Is the object detection detected also above the drone and under the drone? Let’s say you are flying it inside a cave, would the object detection recognize not go to any higher? Or lower?
As always, a perfect, very clear and exciting report and test. It's easy to see that you understand a lot about the subject matter and you can convey this very well. This new drone is now at a level of technology that is almost unimaginable and impresses with functions that we have wanted for a long time. After your test, I immediately ordered the Mini 4 shortly after the DJI show and hope that it will actually be delivered by Amazon on Wednesday. I would recommend people hang onto their MP3pro. I just got mine. I’m hanging onto my iPhone 14 also. Tired of constantly selling me stuff on eBay and upgrading. I’m just gonna be happy with what I had before I heard of these upgrades. They do me fine. Cool new features though
Hi mate, I do enjoy the new features and side sensors, bit its not enough for me to warrant spending another £1,000 to upgrade from my Mini 3 Pro. Maybe when I've finally destroyed this or lost it I'll get one
