Flying over people also requires prop guards which still puts the Mini 4 Pro over weight. It's a non-starter. Cat 2 and 3 are also not ready for prime time. Cat 4? Airworthiness Certificate? Uh, no.
Not only overweight, but it is way less stable in even 5 mile per hour winds. The stabilization still functions, amazingly well actually. But in the scenerio which I tested the DJI branded prop guards, my aircraft went from flat and stable with zero movement, to lifting side by side 3 to 4 inches in a swaying motion. Useless IMO.
Hi Robin, great informative video... I really love this Mini 4 Pro drone.. I have a question when you record are you filming in 4K 30pfs or 60pfs. I was filming in 4K 30fps over the weekend and found the footage to be somewhat jerky. Maybe 60fps would smooth things out. Also I normally get Freewell filters but they were not available at the time so I purchased Skyreat filters. Have you ever used them. Not sure if maybe the filters are the cause. My son also has the Mini 4 pro and he was filming with no filters and 60fps and his footage looked better. Can I get your thoughts? Thanks Dave.....
also a first time drone owner, what is the advantages shooting in 30 over 60, other than the smaller file size? and under what conditions 60 fps is advised? @@robinhannevig
I have just brought myself a DJI Mini 4 pro and I'm in love with it. It's the first drone I've ever flown or owned, and I can confidently say it's one of the easiest remote control anything I have ever used. This thing is so responsive to the sticks and you can refine the touch in settings. I would have no problem at all recommending the mini 4 to anybody. The only downside is the price, but you do get what you pay for and so far no complaints 😎🚁👍
Great video👍. I agree with you on how the M4P is affected by sustained windy 🌬️conditions. Just this week I was flying VLOS over a small pond in a 15mph +/- wind and found that the drone was struggling when I wanted it to descend from an altitude of 100 ft. At times it ascended even though I was on full stick descend mode. Kinda made me a bit concerned thinking the drone was not receiving the signal… Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
The descent can be affected by the sensors, especially over water even if the water is still but the wind heavy, just like flying over water with no wind but bigger waves. I always turn the sensors off when flying over water at a low altitude 👍
Hi Robin, I had the mini pro 4 on active tracking at the beach at about 2 meters high and 3 meters in front of me, as I started walking towards the water, it was flying backwards, as soon as it over the water, it started to descend, it must have lost me or something, I got scared and ran towards it, as I was closer to it, it rose again. What is the safest height to fly over water so it doesn't go for a swim? I'm also headed to Hawaii soon so any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks, Jim
