Great timing. Just made the switch from GoPro for the OA4 and straight out of the box I LOVE this camera. Audio, picture, the magnetic mount, wow. Everything I ever needed. Thanks for taking the time to make this. Great job and much appreciated 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Thank you for including your personal settings at the end!! I'd love to hear you go into more detail on when/why you use horizontalbalancing vs rocksteady+. I'm aware you explained the differences between the two, just would be nice to hear use cases. Cheers!
My test, experience: this information is hardly mentioned on RU-vid. Set your OSMO Action4 to at least 1/160sec or better 1/200sec in Rock Steady mode (digital stabilizer). The stabilizer is overwhelmed with longer exposure times and you get unusable, blurry images. So you can forget about the often recommended 25/30 images with a 50/60sec exposure time with ND filter "Motion Blur" (180 degree rule) for smooth images. You almost always need digital stabilization switched on with an action cam.
Great information and content. Thank you for making this excellent DJI Action 4 Introduction video. Easy to follow the step-by-step settings with my own camera. Comments based on your experience help me as a beginner. Thanks again.
I want to ask your opinion. It seems that the camera focus and resolution seems a bit bad. I tried vlogging my self and my face is out of focus. NGL, It's really bad. My samsung Note 8 (it's old) phone camera is much more focused and high res than this. I was hoping a lot since it's not exactly cheap, and I want more than my phone camera, since I'm willing to spend more. I'm thinking of returning it and buy a gimbal instead for the stability.
Great tutorial for adjusting your settings, to fit your style of shooting. I will save this video if I get the Action 4, I’m still waiting to see the specs on the Hero 12. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Any reccomendations for less noise at 4K/60fps when shooting in really low light with flickering nightclub lights? Curious to hear your recommendations. We have everything on auto profiles now with the low light enabled
Does HEVC drain more battery that h264 on my DJI Osmo Action 4? If so, do you know approximately how much? Find this the case in both 30 and 60 fps. As always, thanks for your videos.
Hi! “A day late a dollar short” as they say, I just bought A4 and came across your video. I appreciate the custom personal settings, very helpful for me to follow. I don’t have much experience nor knowledge in shooting photos or videos using all the settings available. Is there a particular setting u can recommend for me to customize when shooting in low light ? Like strolling around after sunset with just artificial lights around the city. Thanks in advance if you’re able to help. If not I will learn through trial and error. Lol
The question I have but have not yet found an answer to regards the playback mode. What is the purpose of the yellow rectangles? They can be added during playback, but what do they do?
Hi congrats for the very edugationals videos. One question i have for you. Mainlly i am recording continuesly for hours with various resolution settings even 2k or 4k or 1920 . i notice that the camera it selfs splitting the video in various duration like for 1920 x1080 and 60fps are clips of 1 hour clips. Is there any setting which can made the long recording in smaller clips like 6 or 8 minutes duration? Not with loop recording because i am loosing clips with it if i dont press start and sto recording. Thanks please advise me
Would you please do a follow-up video on low-light & night mode settings? With Pro, ISO, WB, and stabilization settings? My semi-auto, Pro mode results haven’t been as good as I’ve expected with the larger sensor size. Thanks!
I haven’t snorkeled with this camera, but I’d recommend the max resolution 4K and slow motion (120fps), plus a wide or even ultra wide field of view. There’s no telling on when to expect a new model, but DJI tends to not do yearly releases like GoPro does, so I think you’re safe to get this model now.
How do I record videos ? Clicking the red button on top or any other convenient ways ? I am planning for vlogging. If the red button is only designated, it means there is a bad ending unlike pocket 3 video button. Please suggest me. TIA
@@animesh8101 problem with activation, overheating, low light is sh*t quality.. and finally you are not sure if old go pro isn't better. Most of this reviews are paid I think
@@animesh8101I have one. Activation took like 2 minutes; the app basically does everything for you. I had to download a firmware update which took a couple extra minutes max. Overheating doesn’t happen, low light mode I haven’t really used yet. I bought this just to film fishing videos. “onepointeight” is just regurgitating GoPro fanboy nonsense. GoPro is great and I have no idea which is better. Quite frankly I don’t care. I chose the DJI because of the battery life and better reliability which is proven. Everyone knows GoPros overheat easily.
I was testing the camera in 4k 30 walking around my city and when I turn the camera I feel like the motion blur is a little mushy and nauseating. I was basically using all default settings, what would you recommend to fix this? Maybe change the shutter speed?
Thanks for your complete turorial and setting suggestions. But I have one question; on Osmo 3 anti-flicker can be adjusted, while on the Osmo 4 I cannot see this option. How can I change the anti-flicker from 50 to 60 Hz and viceversa? Thanks for your answer
Hi, are any of you're custom settings for low light ? If so please let me know which one; im real having trouble learning settings. I'm used to apertures and shutter speeds from the old film cameras😮. Thanks again!!!
Great video. Question what tripod are you using for your action 4 on here it looks cool. Another question, we always compare 1080 vs 4k but what about filming in 2.7k no one ever seems to talk about that. Thanks
I have a question, how do you keep the screen from going into Sleep mode when I'm videoing? I do 10 to 11 minute videos, no editing, I like the camera I wanna know how you can keep the screen going while I'm videoing. Not going dark and I have to touch you to make go back. How can you do that like I'm my GoPro 10. Thank you very much good video I just bought yesterday
I have a Saramonic Blink 500, what is the Saramonic mic adapter for use on Action Cam 4? Can I use Saramonic SR-C2001?Does the mic icon appear on the screen?
Not bad, but not great either. Slow down! It’s not a race, give us the time needed to process the info. Pausing now and again is needed. When you switch resolution and frame rates this camera switches between H.264 and HECV . This drove me crazy, as first time I ever experienced this and wondered what was happening. My computer only plays HEVC in 1080p , I think, still confused. Serious problem, major problem with the settings, no one is talking about. And if you do, please pause so we can assimilate the info.
HI, what do you think of a gimbal for the Action 4, especially for shooting in very low light. I researched and see more options are available on the camera w hen used. I love your channel more and more❤! Thx!
Im a Dj and planing to film my gigs in clubs and around night time when its not that musch light around. Will anyone recomend this camera for that or the Gopro 12? I have a Canon 50mk2 but its to many settings on it and i can only record for 30 min at the time. One more thing can i film longer them 1h on the DJI 4 ?
Hi. Great Channel... and better than the myriad of other channels trying to do the same. You have a new Sub! My comment, on your C1, C2, C3 and C4 settings (which I have copied) the 30FPS settings do seem to produce noise (grainy) videos. The 60FPS seem to largely reduce this issue. I'm trying to stick to H264 where possible. Any thoughts on what might be producing the 30FPS issue? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.
