Hey man, great content. Quick question. Im blogging with the action 4 and dji mic. Whats the settings are you using ? Because i have these 2 problems: 1) audio is too low, 2) seems like is reducing the noise so much, that for example when theres live music, it almost disappears. Before i was using stereo both in camera and dji mic. Now i switched to Mono and Mono. Sometimes i have tried mono for the mic, and stereo for the camera.

It's great to hear that you're creating content with the DJI Action 4 and DJI mic. When dealing with audio-related issues, it's essential to experiment with different settings to find the configuration that works best for your specific use case. Here are some recommendations and things to consider: 1. **Audio Levels (Volume):** - Ensure that the audio levels are appropriately set. Both the camera and the DJI mic likely have volume controls. You might want to increase the volume levels on both the camera and the mic while monitoring the audio to avoid distortion. 2. **Mono vs. Stereo:** - When recording live music or situations with complex audio, using mono for both the camera and the mic could be a good choice. Stereo recording might result in a more immersive audio experience, but it can also introduce challenges in post-processing. 3. **Noise Reduction:** - If you're experiencing excessive noise reduction, check the settings on both the camera and the DJI mic. Some devices have built-in noise reduction algorithms that can be adjusted or disabled. Experiment with these settings to find the right balance between noise reduction and preserving audio quality. 4. **External Audio Processing:** - Consider processing the audio separately using post-production tools. This way, you have more control over noise reduction, equalization, and other audio enhancements. Software like Audacity, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing tools can provide more advanced features for fine-tuning your audio. 5. **Check Firmware/Software Updates:** - Ensure that both the DJI Action 4 and the DJI mic have the latest firmware or software updates. Manufacturers often release updates that address performance issues or introduce new features. 6. **Test Different Scenarios:** - Experiment with different scenarios, especially when recording live music. Adjust the microphone's position, the distance from the source, and other environmental factors to find the optimal setup. Remember that the ideal settings can vary based on the specific conditions and the type of content you're creating. Don't hesitate to test different configurations and make adjustments until you achieve the desired audio quality. If issues persist, reaching out to DJI support or consulting the user manuals for both devices might provide additional insights.

Have you found a cage where the DJI transmitter can be connected to the Action 4. The plastic cage doesn't work with the Transmitter. It looks like the smallrig cage works, but I am not sure if the transmitter can be flipped around so you can see the green lights on the transmitter or not.
@the_daniel_life
@the_daniel_life 8 месяцев назад
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific information about DJI Action 4 and its compatibility with different cages or accessories, including the transmitter. Additionally, product details and accessories can change over time. If you are looking for a cage that is compatible with the DJI Action 4 and allows for the connection of the DJI transmitter, I recommend checking the official DJI website or contacting DJI customer support for the most accurate and up-to-date information. They should be able to provide details on compatible accessories and cages, as well as any considerations for the transmitter placement and visibility of the green lights. You may also want to check forums, user reviews, or community discussions where users share their experiences with different cages and accessories for the DJI Action 4. Sometimes, fellow users can provide valuable insights based on their practical usage of the equipment.

Is there a way to connect transmitter to osmo action 4 while in a stock case?
@the_daniel_life
@the_daniel_life 2 месяца назад
Yes, you can connect the DJI Mic transmitter to the DJI Osmo Action 4 while the camera is in its stock case. Here’s how you can achieve that: ### Connecting the DJI Mic Transmitter to Osmo Action 4 1. **Mount the DJI Mic Receiver:** - Attach the DJI Mic receiver to the hot shoe mount or a cold shoe mount adapter. If the stock case of the Osmo Action 4 doesn’t have a built-in mount, you may need to use an additional mounting accessory that provides a cold shoe mount. 2. **Audio Connection:** - Use the appropriate cable to connect the receiver to the Osmo Action 4. The DJI Mic typically comes with a 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable for cameras. - Plug one end of the cable into the receiver and the other end into the Osmo Action 4’s USB-C port using a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter (since the Osmo Action 4 doesn't have a built-in 3.5mm mic input). 3. **Ensuring Compatibility with the Stock Case:** - If the stock case obstructs the USB-C port, consider using a case that provides access to the USB-C port or modify the case to allow the connection. - Alternatively, there are frame cases or cage accessories specifically designed for the Osmo Action series that offer better access to ports and mounting options. ### Step-by-Step Instructions: 1. **Attach the Receiver:** - Mount the DJI Mic receiver on a cold shoe mount. If the stock case doesn't have one, use an accessory that provides this mounting option. 2. **Connect the Audio Cable:** - Use a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Plug the 3.5mm end of the adapter into the receiver’s output port. - Plug the USB-C end into the Osmo Action 4’s USB-C port. 3. **Secure the Setup:** - Make sure all connections are secure and the cables do not obstruct the camera’s view or interfere with the gimbal if you’re using one. ### Alternative Solutions: 1. **Use a Different Case:** - If the stock case limits access, consider using a third-party frame case or cage that provides better port access and mounting options. 2. **Wireless Solution:** - If physical connection poses too many challenges, explore wireless audio solutions compatible with the Osmo Action 4. ### Accessories to Consider: - **Cold Shoe Mount Adapter:** If your

apparently with the latest software update you don't need to use the DJI receiver, the camera will see the mics without it.
@the_daniel_life
@the_daniel_life 7 месяцев назад
As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific information about the latest software updates for DJI microphones. However, it's common for companies to release software updates that improve compatibility and functionality. If there has been a recent software update for DJI microphones that allows them to be recognized directly by the camera without using the DJI receiver, that's great news. It suggests that DJI is actively working to enhance the user experience and make the setup process more convenient. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking the official DJI website or contacting DJI customer support. They can provide details about the latest firmware updates and any changes in the functionality of DJI microphones.

Plugging that receiver into the camera with just the USB connector doesn't look very secure. I use a GoPro on my motorbike with a RODE receiver and while it does require a cable the unit is totally secure on the camera because it mounts with a hot-shoe clip.
@the_daniel_life
@the_daniel_life 8 месяцев назад
It sounds like you're pointing out a concern about the security and stability of connecting the DJI microphone receiver to the camera using just the USB connector, as opposed to a more secure mounting option like a hot-shoe clip. If you find the current setup less secure, you might want to explore alternative mounting options or accessories that could provide a more stable connection. Some third-party accessories or rigging solutions might offer hot-shoe mounts or other secure attachment methods for the microphone receiver. Additionally, check for any official or third-party accessories designed specifically for your DJI microphone or camera model. These accessories could provide more secure attachment options and may enhance the overall stability of your setup, especially when used in dynamic environments like on a motorbike. Always ensure that any accessories or modifications you consider are compatible with your specific DJI microphone model and camera to avoid any issues or damage. If you have specific concerns, reaching out to DJI's customer support or checking community forums for advice from other users who might have faced similar challenges could be beneficial.

@@the_daniel_life Thanks Dan. It looks like I can buy a Neewer/Ulanzi cage for it, mount the receiver to the case's hot-mount and then connect the receiver to the camera using a 3.5mm jack-to-usb-c cable.
