It’s not like with good camera gadgets we can take good videos, we need skills and creativity for that. No doubt, you have both that’s why this video is of high quality. Keep of the good work 👍 and inspire beginners like me 😊
clearly best footage i've seen on the net of the Pocket 3. You have amazing skills. Not sure what you exactly did in post to make it that clean and crisp without noise but great work
Have been looking for your video on this "little" thing. And as expected it's amazing. Pretty sharp even in the low light situation. But I would agree with the DR, as well with other reviewer samples, it also apparently shown in yours. The highlights on high contrast condition were occasionally appears to be "considerably" blown. Did you notice it as well? Does it appear in all profiles (including the D-Log)? Can it be "toned down" on the post, especially on the D-Log? Thanks.
It appears DJI did a custom 1” sensor on this from (I assume) Sony. It’s a 9.3MP sensor, perfect for 4K video. It isn’t the typical 20MP sensor that the other 1” compact cameras use. The Rx100VII for example.
Yea if the Pocket 3 is mainly designed for video. I would rather have the 9.3MP sensor for better lowlight performance. But I found that when shooting D-Log M, it gets noisy around ISO 800. The best would be using their own Night mode for filming at night. But the trade off is, you will only be able to use the standard picture profile ☺️
Looks like the shadows have been lifted and there was some noise reduction applied :) Is it correct? haha. Maybe you could upload a Dlog M sample clip for us to play with the colors too?
I didn’t apply any noise reductions. I think it’s the RU-vid compression that cleans up the noise a lot. Yea I’m going to upload a few clips on Google drive, so everyone can play around with it 😊
Oh I see, means with noise reduction you could dig into the shadows even more and get a bit better dynamic range 😮It's an amazing tool, especially for these kinds of public places. Thanks for uploading, look forward to it 🙏 @dsipictures
Great work as always! I'm thinking about getting the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and I've heard some users mention issues with the rotatable screen. Have you experienced any problems with it? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Now that looked good but I still think I prefer the Pocket 1 for it's 26mm focal length. Not so good in low light of course but 26mm equivalent on the 3 and some taming with the highlights and I'd like this camera more.
Very nice, I've been playing around with my pocket 3 as well. Have you compared normal/HLG/DLOG/LOW light mode in low light yet? I'm just having a hard time deciding between the 4 options for low light, sometimes I feel like HLG has better quality in low light cases
Thanks. Yea I found that when you switch it to night mode. It performs the best in lowlight. But then you are stuck with DJI standard color only. Also you can’t do 50p and 60p. The D-Log M gives you much better dynamic range, but it’s a bit noisy after ISO 800. So I’m still thinking what would be the best too 🤔😉
@@dsipictures great job then! I was almost sure You used ND ;) its not easy with f2.0 get good exp with ss 1/100. Thanks for great advice. Keep doin a good work.
Brilliant as usual - you always make every product look good. Im buying a pocket 3 because I have a small ratrig slider and I have to film food for clients, Im hoping I can put a 3 on it and track the food in the center of the frame whilst sliding, so I get an arced background movement. If it works it'll be like gold dust as I have to work quick
Huge thanks for sharing raw footage samples! Could you please tell what "sharpness" and "noise reduction" settings are used? Image looks pretty soft (not oversharpened at all) but detailed.
Hey mate, as a fitness coach on social medias (100k followers) I film with me 13 pro max. Do you see any advantages with the pocket 3 compared to the iPhone ?
The Pocket 3 definitely has better image quality compared to iPhone 13 Pro Max. But for social media stuff, iPhone is a lot quicker and easier. Because you have to transfer the media to your phone. If you just download the clips from the DJI Mimo app. You may not get the full quality. And if you have to use a SD card reader to transfer the media. It is just more steps in the end. Also the Pocket 3 doesn’t do true vertical video. It drops down to 3K. So I’m assuming it is cropping from the sensor 😉
That was fast. Great! BTW did yours happen to come with a magnet for the wireless mic? I saw youtubers like Brandon Li using a magnet to attach the mic but mine didn't come with one.
Thanks for watching. When I got the Pocket 3, the NDs were sold out. So I had to shoot all the day time shots around the sunset time to keep the 1/100 shutter speed 😊
The new iPhone 15 Pro lets you shoot in Log. I heard it doesn’t have the digital sharpness. But I haven’t got the new iPhone 15 Pro. So I’m not sure how good it is 🤔
It's hard to see with the RU-vid compression, but have you noticed any noticeable difference in sharpness between 25p and 50p shooting especially at night?
Crazy how this guy makes art and doesn’t have millions of subs, meanwhile you have these shitty camera influencers shilling for money and they have millions of subscribers
Thanks. Yea I think most of the people complained the first gen Pocket 1 with the 28mm was too tight for vlogging. So DJI decided to go wider 20mm from the Pocket 2 and now the Pocket 3. Instead of making another 15mm wide angle adapter. Maybe DJI should make a 28mm or 35mm adapter ☺️
What an informative and wonderfully shot video- thanks for posting it! i was very interested in the segment around 1:31 in the video, since i'm a musician, and I've been trying- and mostly failing- in taking low light videos of me performing my music at home (an example of this is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WiOH9QMhXmU.htmlsi=5HOBPQirolNSukbS ) now- my "music at home" videos are shot on a GoPro Hero 5 from, like, 2018, so that's probably a large part of it. 🙃 Do you think the Pocket 3 could get me a bit further, visually, that i am now? Because it certainly looks like it could in the video you created. Thanks for reading, and keep up the fantastic work!
This is a very interesting camera but every single footage sample I've seen from endless videos (this one including) show the camera brutally blowing highlights and having a very harsh roll-off. Indeed very good low light performance but the image is lacking proper dynamic range and to me is very unpleasant. I see zero benefit on overall IQ of this camera and sensor aside from its low light capabilities. Any good modern smartphone blows this out of the water as far as preserving highlights. Not impressed at all. Thanks for the video.
