so it shoots 4k video, question is, in order to watch the recorded 4k quality, the video needs to be on a 4k supported device? or can you see that quality on phones like Samsung note 8?
Hey I enjoyed the review. I was wondering about sound. How is the microphone? All the reviews I've seen don't seem to mention if it has a microphone or the quality. Any way to connect and external mic? Thanks!
I've seen other reviewers mention that you can get an accessory which converts usb c to audio port to connect your own mircrophone. The built in is just good enough for an average consumer, nothing more than that.
Looks like a definetely buy but wish there were more info on the accessories. Like how to mount this on a helmet or something. DJI just advertise they have an accessory mount that fits most things but what are those things. So little is explained.
is the osmo pocket still better option than having a phone gimbal with a good quality phone camera like the s9 plus? don't knot if will be better to pickup one of this or a phone gimbal. Sorry if my English is not good, I just tried. Thanks.
did you get this as a reviewer, for you to keep, and are there things you can't say or do. Could you connect a USB C cable to it. I wonder if the two USB port works the same?
Is the sensor bigger than a smartphones and therefore better DM and lowlight. If not just use either your stabilization in your phone (my Pixel 2 is great) or a phone gimbal.
@@ZLL668 Should have also released a Pocket Pro = Hasselblad lens + 1" sensor + dedicated thumbstick for gimbal control + slightly bigger for $569. But that would have essentially killed the DJI Osmo and Osmo+
We read also at different places that @4K 60FPS, the battery is drained in 40 minutes. Is that right? How big are also the files and how much can you fit on a 32Gb card?
One reason, besides size, why I would prefer this over the Osmo Mobile, is because I always seem to get a text or call while shooting and it messes with the video quality. I know that I could just set the phone to airplane mode, but that's just one more setup setup that keeps me from shooting right away. This would certainly be more convenient!
Is there an attachment for your jacket or shirt pocket so you can use this in a discreet way and not let people see you're holding a camera like when you're walking into an office.
HI, may i ask a question please. Im getting into video and learning. The osmo seems like to best kit for my budget at the moment. Does it have a 3.5mm jack socket for microphone? if not, does it record any sound as i could sync it with a zoom h1. Just starting on the journey so any advice would be greatly appreciated. All the best, and thank you for your videos Im editing on powerdirector 16 and have a GL703vm Asus 16ram intel7 1060 yeeeet... took 1yrs up to save up :)
Hi Drone Nerds! Could you please answer me a question about DJI OSMO POCKET? I would like to know if it has GPS so that you can enter telemetry on the screens in action videos like for example in training and bike speed races, mtb, as it exists in GOPRO HERO 5, 6 and 7 Black etc. Thank you!
I have alrady ordered mine, but I am a little concerned with how much I am seeing the focus hunting in your footage. I hope they have the ability to lock focus.
I like how compact and discreet it is. I also would want it for when I'm riding on my scooters/skateboard. The quality shown here is fine enough for that.
Hello Guys! Thank you for a nice Video. My little Daughter have a RU-vid channel and just wonder what is the best and easy way to upload videos from DJI Osmo to her RU-vid chanel. Thank You in advance?
Just wondering I have a honour 6 phone which I love other then the Bluetooth hook up will dji have the option of having a micro USB plug in would like to use my phone hooked up to the osmo pocket instead of Bluetooth all the time to adjust it to pro settings?
Hi there:) Is it possible to switch battery? Does the battery and SD-capacity last long enough to film a timelaps over 4-6 hours? And does it record sound? Is it possible to use an external mic?
Awesome piece of kit! I just wish it wasn't so small! I think they should max an 'XL' version. With a slightly bigger screen and longer battery life. I would gladly sacrifice the size for that
@@DroneNerds Thanks! That's great to know, will try to mount it on my head in some janky manner as a stable gopro once I receive it, see how that works out! (On top of using it normally of course)
i can see there are a lot of stripes going on the top left corner from your footage at 4:10 till early 4:12. what is it actually? are you recording through window?
you said you can just pull it from the pocket, turn it on and use it right away, however, when i do that it seems to default to auto-mode for everything, rather than using the last settings used.. which means that each time i turn it on i have to connect it to my ipad (because hey, it doesn't come with the micro-usb adapter that most phones would need), and put it in "pro mode" and do my settings. Which kinda completely kills the idea of having it in my pocket and use it right away :( Also the battery doesn't hold "all day" for me - its holding about 40min recording - and while it can charge (for example from a powerbank) while filming... having the connection done to the bottom rather than to the side means you can't just stand it somewhere when connected..
I am sure I am not the first to notice, but it looks like it uses the same camera that's on the new mavic Pro2... which would make sense.. take that camera and gimbal and make a new product with it.... The fact that it takes 4k isn't that huge considering the Mavic's have been doing that for a while...
Great review video....I have a Removu K1 and use my cell phone for most of my videos..I was thinking about getting one of these to use in the casinos because it is so small...Thanks for the great video..
I’m tempted to buy this, but not being waterproof and also the fact that the battery cannot be removed like GoPro cameras do, it really is a bummer. I guess I will keep filming with my GoPro 6 and also with my iPhone +gimbal configuration until DJI or another company brings out something similar but without the need to worry about battery life or getting it wet. Also, if the battery goes bad, I will be forced to purchase another $350 osmo pocket. This is where I would prefer continue using a GoPro camera until DJI makes a camera with swappable batteries and some water protection for skiing or for a rainy day.
Looks amazing and I'm ordering one but there is a massive design flaw. There is NO way to attach the camera to anything. No tripod mount anywhere and from what I've been able to see so far, they have not made an accessory for it. I wish DJI would be like every other gimbal manufacturer on the planet and just put a tripod mount on the bottom of the gimbal. Stupid not to
I wouldn't say quality is king, getting the shot is king. For an amatuer or hobbiest, it is tough to quickly catch opportune moments. The quicker and easier I can get the shot, the better!
