I watched about a billion pocket 3 reviews on RU-vid, but this is by far the most comprehensive and engaging of all of the - congratulations on a job brilliantly done! 👏 👏 👏

when you get the chapters mastered, this channel will pop like crazy. You're doing the tests I don't have time to do, so I appreciate it.

27:15 yeah, the Pocket 3 was at 100% battery because the battery module was providing power to keep it charged all the time. This is working as expected. Battery will drain with time, doesn't matter if you're using your device or not. This applies to all eletronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, Kindle, cameras and, well, Osmo Pocket 3. So the battery module was constantly charging it to keep it at 100%. Anyway, great video! Loved every second of it.

I was expecting mostly fluff as coming up with anywhere nearly as many as 60 useful tips seemed impossible but I am genuinely blown away by the fact that your suggestions are not only comprehensive but also genuinely helpful from beginning to end. Thank you!

Here's the transcript: 1. **Dual Charging**: Plug the battery handle into the Pocket 3E and use a dual USB-C cable to charge the mic and the Pocket 3 simultaneously. 2. **Larger Clip Limit**: The Pocket 3 allows recording up to 17GB before splitting the clip, unlike the Pocket 2, which split at 4GB. 3. **Weather Caution**: The Pocket 3 is not waterproof, so take cover if it starts raining. 4. **EV Meter Adjustment**: Swipe from the right to adjust the EV meter while recording without diving into deeper settings. 5. **Switching Video Compression**: If h.265 is causing playback issues, switch to h.264, but be aware of restrictions like losing the ability to shoot in D-Log M, HLG, or 4K 120fps. 6. **Joystick Back Button**: Press the joystick once to act as the back button in menu screens. 7. **Wide Angle Lens Storage**: You can store the Pocket 3 with the wide-angle lens attached, but the gimbal head won’t lock. 8. **Continuous Recording Tests**: Inside: 50 minutes in 4K 25fps before overheating. I watch just about every video in regards to the pocket 3 to see if I miss anything. I normally never feel like I do and walk away learning nothing. Got my mate to sort computer. Then found your video. You not only told me how to fix that issue, but I learnt other stuff too. Well put together video. Thank you so much..

These tips are gold, and thank you so much for doing them. And yes, the selfie flip should be a monitor flip only and the camera should always record in the correct perspective. I've had this discussion with the developers at PRISM Live studio and this is not an isolated situation. it's much more natural to talk into a camera when it looks like a mirror because as you said, that's what we are used to. I would love to have my own image as a mirror, but have the video record in the correct perspective. Maybe a firmware update? who am I kidding! DJI listens to no one! My magnet does fit into the case while it's attached to the clip on the microphone. Just put the magnet towards the top of the clip.

To be honest at first I wasn't sure as this is the first time I've watched one of your videos. after about 10 minutes in I actually found you really good ,some of the things I've learnt from your video I haven't found them anybody else's. you're very clear and what you say and you also put in a bit of humour in which is brilliant. There is to many RU-vid videos out there which are boring , you come across as a person who just "say it as it is" with the a little mistake here and there who cares that's all part of the entertainment and getting the message across which is brilliant . 11:37 one can also let them be connectet and then activate the Backup Audio inside the pocket 3. In this way the pocket 3 records the Audio of its internal microphone in an audio file and the Audio from mic2 in the Video file and the mic2 is recording its Audio internal if activated.

Thanks so much for this! Though I do want to mention that I've learned 1:1 is no longer the optimal ratio for IG, vertical 3:4 or 16:9 is because it doesn't allow for other posts to be seen on screen along with your post. Not sure what the use cases are for 1:1 anymore.

This was an amazing video!

Pocket 3 uses the eXFat file allocation system which has a capacity to address files up to a maximum file size of 16 Exabytes! So DJI have imposed their own limitation here. The old 4GB limitation was the limitation of FAT32 file allocation table (system).

22:28 Place the magnet on top of the mic2's own clothing clip. the mic 2 will fit perfectly into the case, without having to put the magnet in place of the wide lens or anywhere else

James tip for you to avoid your camera falling over next time ... pop in to a Fishing Tackle shop and buy a 6 inch bank stick and then ask for a bank stink camera adaptor (Gardner Tackle) and bob's your uncle your camera will never fall over again :) I use it all the time when filming time/hyperlapses :)

It's been a few days after I bought the Pocket 3, and I've been trying to learn how to use it (this is my first DJI product ever). So there's still some things I'm unclear about. This video has been SUPER helpful in explaining all the little tricks I need to know how to use the device! So glad the algorithm recommended me this video. Thanks so much! My one question is, did you shoot all your clips in the default color that DJI has or did you shoot in D-Log and then color graded in post? I love the colors from your selfie mode footage while you were walking on the trails. Apologies if this is a silly question

Easily the best how-to-use video I've seen on the Pocket 3. Great job! I've had mine for a few weeks and thought I knew it well (I also have the Pocket 1) but I learned some things here. Now I'll jump over and watch your Action 4 videos (I also have one).

I think you are wrong about the wide angle lens in the case. The lens should actually be facing the same side as the screen and goes directly inside of the case with the wide angle lens on. It doesn’t flop around.

I will have to watch this several times to learn all of these tips 👍. Checking the sd card on a pc there are d.lrf and d.mp4 files, the d.lrf are the files used to preview on mimo app and are almost 1/10 the size. When setting pre-sets does it save an ev change ? It dosent seem to for me but when I set record to standard video setting -1ev is set. Lots to learn. 👍

Thank you for these useful tips I learned a lot! I wanna add something I find useful, if I record it at 1:1 I get the full frame without being cropped in horizontal or vertical. So I can crop it in post for whatever orientation I like.

Keep in mind, square mode, even though it says 3k, has more resolution than 16:9 4k. It’s weird but the 3k square (3072×3072) is higher resolution than 4k 16:9 (3840×2160)

60 tips! Thats plenty🙂 About the DJI mics, were you able to get the original Pocket 2 wireless mic to work with the P3? Selfie Flip mode. For the life of me I cant imagine its true purpose other than what you said about being familiar with how you look in the mirror. But to actually have a switch in the menu?🤔

Question on your charge times - what wattage charger are you using? With fast charging in the new Osmo cameras, your times seemed long, longer than what I see with a 60W charger. My Pocket 3 just went from 56% to 100% in 15 minutes or less.

Nice video! you mention for an instagram post to use 1:1. While its good for photos, I do think most people use videos for instagram as Reels, together with Yt shorts and Tiktok, those are 9:16 (so just a vertical pocket 3 shot)

Great video thanks for creating. Quick question. I used to overcome the Pocket 2 overheating by removing the do it all handle and plugging in a lightning to usb c cable from pocket 2 to iPhone, using the iPhone as a monitor via Mimo app. It allowed me to record without ever getting an overheat, even in extreme heat. However, testing on the Pocket 3 with same method it doesn’t work. I think it’s because the Bluetooth is now built into the main pocket 3 unit (unlike the 2 where it was in the do it all handle) I’ve not found a way to turn off Bluetooth and it seems the usb c on the 3 doesn’t support video out like the 2 did, which is shame.

Can the DJI Mic be connected with the Pocket 3? I dont have the Mic 2.

Thank you for the video it would be nice have a low light camera but every set up looks too complicated for me plus don't get why this camera isn't water resistant which clearly says for what conditions is suitable. I'll stick with action camera's.

Great video! I was a bit surprised that you couldn't shoot the High Def mode or the ¤K 120 fps in 264?! Im not sure my PC can handle editing and render of H.265 files..... I would really love to see someone making a video of ALL the settings in the menus, for me its not that clear what everything actually means. Is there such a video out there?

I don't suppose you're based in Essex, are you? The countryside and accent sound familiar! BTW, I haven't got to the end of the video yet but I do recommend dialling down sharpness and denoise (both -2) when shooting in d-log. Keep up the great work.
