Regarding scuba diving, I actually ordered a nice five star rated glass housing (or made of some sort of very tough non scratch type material) which will go as deep as fifty meters. That’s 150 feet or so! Plenty deep enough for scuba. It’s on Amazon, and fully designed for the OM3. The gimbal rotates freely inside and you can control the buttons (not sure how the joystick function will be addressed). There are a TON of great accessories for this camera. I even ordered one that incorporates a neck strap and holder for the camera. That will be great for me while I am at the wheel of my thirty two foot Catalina 320 sailboat. In fact I just got back from taking her to Catalina Island with my wife, and it would have been amazing to be hands free while recording our trip.

I found that small phone mounts for bicycle handle bars work well with poles and monopods too. Good video.

Thanks for the great content, my pocket 3 is on it's way, in the meantime I've noticed one big elephant that reviewers of the pocket 3 are not covering and that is the timecode funtion, it gets a brief mention on the dji site and in the manual, so if you really want to be ahead of the pack before i get my pocket 3 then get on it now 😁 One scenario I'll look into is the pocket 3, mixpre 6 mkii, tentacle sync timecode and various mics, shotgun and usb, like rode ntg etc, this is huge, coupling the pocket 3 image with high end audio to raise the package to professional level. you're doing great content, I've subscribed, notified and shared because of that alone, cheers for now. 👍🏻

Finally someone said it. Dji should bring back the monopod with phone mount and remote for the pocket 3 similar to what was for the original pocket and the pocket 2.

Absolutely. It was a fine little thing , very useful for special shots. Of course, at the end, you lose the compact aspect of the Osmo Pocket, but it was nice to have it. Now with some imagination, it’s easy to built one, as we just need to fix the phone at the bottom of a selfie stick. Did it with some Ram-mount stuff on the Insta360 3meters pole, it was great

They do have a selfie stick with mount, holder, joystick and record buttons....for the previous versions of pocket. Assuming they will eventually release one for the 3!

For motion… can it do path key frames like you can setup on a ronin where you could program a pan motion over a series of seconds on a tripod to get a slider style effect with it. I like the idea of tracking but when I’m filming myself doing something like cycling and going through a section… it often loses track of me when I’ve used my Ronin for stuff like that. I’d love to see a test of maybe walking out of frame and back in to see if it resumes “active tracking” too.

Mister Black, I discovered your channel looking for more info on DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I want to start a RU-vid channel with indoor talking head videos for RU-vid. I know nothing about cameras or editing or anything related. I am between the Sony ZV-E10 or the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as my first camera. Which one for my purpose? I see that the Sony ZV-E10 may be harder to use (overwhelming settings just to start). Could the DJi Osmo Pocket 3 completely replace a Sony ZV-E10 for indoor talking head videos and look good enough? Thank you for the videos you are sharing.

one other thing, when filming with the pocket 2 in a car, the image doesn't stay locked straight ahead when turning corners, i haven't found a way to permanently lock it hands free so this means the video is always drifting and catching up which gives a sense of motion sickness, can you lock the 3 straight ahead without holding buttons down whilst driving, maybe dji feels this would harm sales of the osmo action series ? J.

My osmo pocket 3 has an issue in selfie flip. When i turn it off, the view in screen still look like it's on. But, there is no effect for the result. Do you have same issue?

Danny I have a small ratrig slider, I was wondering if I could put the pocket 3 on it and touch screen track food whle sliding so the food stays in the center of the slide and the background curves around. Do you think that could work as a shot.

i will try that out. i did go pretty far like 200 ft and it worked. but also with internal recording (if you can sync it later in editing) it will work at any distance

I have returned 2 of the pocket 3. It’s absolutely a mess. Did they pay you? First one and second videos Don’t show up on mino app! Second one same issue and it was a rattle camera. I will just us my iPhone 14pro max for low light. DJI is a mess. Mr black love your videos just my experience.

wow that sounds so misfortunate. i’m not sure why you would have a problem with that. not just from my experience but i’ve talked to 7 others with the camera and no one has reported that. but that would be a super frustrating experience happening for you!

There is actually picture of what I am talking about on the DJI forum. The second one had the same issue and rattled while I was filming. It was very frustrating. I am definitely done with DJI for now. Love your channel and will continue to watch it.

The wireless mics are a disappointment! As a embedded software developer I can tell you it would not be hard to have them work together. So I will be disappointed if DJI don't add it in later!

only fools use a tripod with the pocket. you can just place it on something with the front facing down, just make sure the gimbal part is free to rotate

some features like panorama forces you to have the pocket upright but most of them don't@@DannyBlack another thing, i occasionally hang my pocket 2 on a tree branch by the lanyard, it looks like tripod footage too, and it's smart enough to flip the footage right side up. mechanical self-leveling is an amazing feature people don't usually mention with these

Just got done watching all the DJI Osmo videos. Fair to say I'm convinced that I will get one for creator purposes. I don't think it will replace my DSLR setup(s) but will complement overall video storytelling and content purposes. Jeremy from @grablifebythegourlays always complains about my footage😅 The hack with the use of the USB C to transmitter to wireless mic hack would work with rode mics too???? Also, with the wireless mic connected does it allow for multi-directional mic use from the camera still work? But a cold shoe hack would be good for USBC to shotgun mic would be cool too!
