I have had this camera for just a week and I am very impressed with the quality. I'm not really a vlogger, but a short film creator. I did a cinematic test on my RU-vid Channel for anyone who is interested in real life applications of it. I am just super happy we have access to such awesome tools for a decent price in 2023!
The problem : "Dear Thank you for contacting DJI Technical Support. We are grateful to assist you with your concern. Regarding your situation, we are sorry to inform you the main camere battery cannot buy singlely, we recommend you to buy the battery handle to help yo solve this issue. This could also help you solve the battery life issue." So you trow away the Pocket 3 in 2 years maximum when battery no longer charges.
@@meninim5054 Honestly didn't think of this but that is a very good point about the built-in battery. Plus as its not waterproof anyway they could have made it swappable ( maybe the pocket 4 hey we're talking about DJI , its already buying built probably ). You said the battery handlextension will be the solution and i don't own one yet but it might be better for handling anyway.
Went hiking out in the desert with this, smacked it against rocks by mistake, knocked it out of my pocket going down into a wash. This thing is honestly a tank, and maintains amazing footage.
I really hope these built-in gimbal type cameras reach full frame quality soon. Such a pain in the a** to go around with a gimbal, and balancing it and stuff like that. Can't wait till we see more practical professional filmmaking stuff!
I can deal with the bulk and hassle, the problem is they don’t work. Sometimes you get usable footage, sometimes you don’t. For big cameras it’s still steadycam, sliders, dollies etc.
@@gpalacesSold my rs3 the other day... when i'm on a gimbal it's usually around 20mm anyway, and for those shots ultimate quality isn't the main thing. If i shot more real estate i'd have to rethink.
As a creative I honestly need this DJI Pocket 3 ,i got so used to DSLR shooting landscape and vertical, this tool is perfect for cimematic B rolls, my only question is? " Can one rack focus on the screen by just one touch?' ,I'm happy the mic unit acts as a receiver for the mic and making it easy to get quality sound without having to attach external mics...I'm also happy that one can color grade the footage, that one inch Cmor Sensor is a big benefit.
I gave up and got it. I was thinking it would be too much of a vlogging camera, but turns out its a lot more. It really is an effortless beast. As fast to use as a smartphone, but the quality is more than enough for youtube / social media content creation
Yup, my OG Mavic Pro is still going strong. Built like a tank, and no reason to upgrade yet even after 5+ years, despite newer drones being lighter and nicer features/upgrades.
@@lukeecle117 Are you talking about a 5 year old RC plane video of my old small HERO Session that was designed to be light for a use case such as that?
The explosion of review videos of the Pocket 3 is abnormal. It most of all looks like a marketing stunt. The same happened with the Insta360 GO. None the less the Pocket 3 seems like a brilliant product. We are experiencing astonishing times.
Of course it's is a pathetic marketing stunt. People saying that it's better than a Sony ZV-1 adds up to that bullshit. How can a fixed 20mm (terrible focal length) even compare with the 18-50mm lens on the ZV-1 plus the ability for that camera to take high resolution photos. How ? I'd be more comfortable shoving the zv-1 in one of my pockets rather than that gimbal which looks prone to break easily. All these reviewers running for clout
@@imvalentin I beg to defer am not a review we do weddings and I can tell you this is just as good as the ZV-1 both have there pros and cons. There is not perfect camera. but as a videographer and photographer who has used a lot of different camera and seen many there is not perfect camera. that been said The Pocket 3 is a great piece of tech. Yet it has a down flaw I personally will say DJI needs to produce multiple fix lens options that can be small enough to magnetically attach. a 24, 35 & 50mm would be perfect. Also a Fan cooling accessory. Aside form that if you want to compare a 1inch sensor to a APSC senor. then Pocket wins this for sure if DJI is able to produce a 1 and half inch senor or a 2 inch Senor of this with a gimbal body they will have a even greater success story than this plus custom attachable lens none zoom lens. The ZV-1 is also only 8bit lol does not come with a wireless mic, or gimbal lol additional battery. The only advantage the ZVE-1 is interchangeable lens mount. that is it nothing more. ZV-1 is 4K 25p limited. here you have 4K 120fps how many camera that does 10bit do you know does 4K 60p or 8bit 4K 120fps. for under £/$700 lol how many. Also active tracking, Live stream function, webcam function lol, AI beauty enhancement. you really need to watch better in-depth video. Th This is great for us at wedding to capture rush content where time is limited to setup the big camera and we can still match footage because it is 10bit. and 4K 60p. we have multiple situation when we have been unable to capture things just cause of setup time, time over running wedding running late. my only issue is if there is a way to get a 30, 35 or 50mm lens on to this. and just an additional cooling accessories attachment so we can run it for extremely long hours. This product marks a milestone in the camera world. expect to see larger camera tech in 2024 with some of this features. such has the Wireless audio linking with the camera + timecode for fast syncing and edits. SIDUS LINK from aperture and deity mic are on the right track already. DJI is also part of the L mount alliance with Blackmagic, Lecia, DJI owns Hasselblad, Panasonic is part of the alliance, Fuji, sigma and more. Imagine a multi Collab of a product from multiples of this company, which most likely will not be great has the pie has to get sliced to much. but DJI and Hasselblad also does partnerships. Blackmagic and Lecia did one with the BMP6K Cinema camera. There first ever Full frame camera. Yes there is issues but please appreciate the milestone on this product.
I own the DJI Air 3 and have been looking into getting into different types of aerial photography, including real estate photography. I've really been considering picking up a Pocket 3 so that I could do a "full service" style package for real estate clients, use the Air 3 for aerial shots of the home and property, and the use the Pocket 3 for interior photos, videos, etc.
Amazing little camera! DJI really nailed it out, love the expansion option for extra battery life and tri pod, the quality is amazing. The only one thing i noticed there is no LED lights? I want to see hw its performing in the low light situations, or is there extra attachment with LED panel as an option as a accessory?
I'm trying to think of any camera apart from security cameras or maybe car cameras that has IR lights. Anyway, the low light function is shown in dozens of other videos in the street etc and it's very good.
might be setting? With the Pocket 3 - I was able to record one hour as one long footage as opposed to the pocket 2 that would split the 1 hour footage into 3-4 segments @@gabialex24
Honestly for vlogging I can't think of anything better. Even for B-roll this would be awesome. When shooting a wedding I'd hate to bring/setup a gimbal just for a couple of shots, this would do the trick.
I just wish the sensor rotated when you switch to vertical. Instead it crops the image and shoots in 3K, which is a bit of a bummer since it's nice to be able to crop in post.
The ND filters in this case are not to get shallower depth of field since this is a fixed F2 lens. The ND filters allow for motion blur when using the 180 degree rule.
I came here just to check that! That's what I am looking for on the internet about the Pocket 3... So, it is impossible to get a shallow or shalloer Depth of Field with it? Thank you guys!
I have the DJI pocket 2, and I use it all the time and this new version is absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to pick one up. Everything that these cameras do in such a small package is absolutely my favorite thing about these. Incredible Vlog cameras, the gimbal is really nice for doing all around B-roll shots, the built in mics sound good, the lapel mic is an awesome attachment and sounds really nice. For a sub $1,000 camera this thing packs so much into a small form factor product it’s hard to beat.
I am hoping DJI brings a pro version with 2 lenses - wide and zoom. They already have the unit in the Air drones. For my needs, a fixed focal length doesnt cut it and no i dont like the digital zoom. Or they can make an optical zoom lens like found on the xperia phones. That should be a great travel vlogging vamera to film hourself on the wide and zoom to show something far.
Never owned a DJI product. Not sure I'd have much use for them tbh, but they do seem very well made devices. I'm guilty of watching a couple of 'auditors that use them and the quality of the footage is great. Love that studio tho, never realised how big it was.
DJI pocket 3 also has a Log profile, crazy that even base cameras/DSLRs don't have it... you can now have that post edit for cinematic color grading... Amazing!
i think you listen too much to markuspix. the form of the thing doesn't make it worse or better for photography/video. it's all in your head. plus, you have to have lived in the era of camcorders to have that take. are you over 50?
Wow. Hot gadget. It looks way better than whatever camera you are using. Love the way it smooths out everything and makes the skin look super smooth. I'm totally interested! Wish I would've noticed this when I got back all the money I did for school because I did buy a Sony vlogging camera but it doesn't look anywhere as good as this.
Recently discovered that the DJI Mic 2 will also connect to your iphone stright bluetoooth without needing to connect a receiver to your iphone like with the rode GO system. The biggest con with the pocket three is when you shoot portrait content the gimbal does not rotate (only the screen) so you are not using the full sensor for your vertical content.
it's not really a con. for a start the vertical position is mostly there to film for Facebook, Instagram, tiktok and RU-vid shorts and they're all 1080p for a start so 3K is already overkill. it's more than ample. and secondly if you really want 4k vertical recording all you have to do is turn the camera sideways 90 degrees and 'ding ding 🛎️ you now have 4k vertical!. it's really simple when you think about it.
There's a technique for turning the whole gimbal sideways. I don't have one, and my memory for the technique is hazy, but it could be that you hold down the joystick and tip the whole camera slowly sideways.
i have the 2 and it's totally worth it if you don't want to use your phone. I've used it in a few projects for b roll. does the job! kinda mad now that this came out haha.
Its a solid device for shooting IG/TT,/vlogging and also a great side camera to have with if you're like my friend whom does storm chasing for a living. Ive been debating getting one...
Why doesn't the Action 4 have Active Tracking? I love the depth of field you get from it. Not to mention it doesn't appear extremely wide angled like a fisheye lens.
Tempted. Had the 1, sent it back as these just feel like dainty toys that are gonna break at any minute. Been using go pros ever since. But this, although still looking a little dainty and fragile, may change my mind.
If you have a crop sensor camera, get this instead of a full sized gimbal. The full size is heavy to lug around, and they typically require a connection to the camera that constantly messes up. A single unit is just easier. Trust me.
There is something that is needed to apply is something that nobody has spoken, from the app we can not pass from horizontal video to vertical video, or vice versa. I know that it is only an act of acting and that perhaps they have overlooked because Ironically when you select the video option in slow camera if it makes the vertical to horizontal change.
It’s smart to separate the lens from the rest of the camera body so you can gimbal less weight. Something tells me traditional camera bodies aren’t going away but now a new class of motor stabilized lens cameras for the layman is here to stay
I undoubtedly absolutely love your unboxing detailed review of products. How I wish I could also buy the same product but I'm broke. Do you do giveaways somehow... lol, tho I'm also hoping HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The Pocket 2 was a BEAST, and I was so skeptical when I heard the P3 was coming. I thought OTHER THAN the 1" sensor, what could they do with it? I have my P3 but haven't had time to play with it, but I am quickly admitting I was WRONG, and the P3 really does stand out when compared to the P2.
I'm not so happy with mine. All my footage needs to be stabilised in post to be used. I've tried my best to creep along - but even in bare feet on sand, I get the "bump" up and down from steps :( Also, the horizon is off and even after recalibration, its slopes. The Air 2S had this same issue.
Daaamn. I went out earlier this year and got the DJI Pocket2 to document my travels around Europe and then this drops now with everything just looking way crisper and more refined 😩Tough timing haha. Looks great though! Might see an upgrade on the distant horizon
