After using the gimbal even more, I would like to put even more emphasis on the fact, that the original base plate is absolutely useless with anything a little bigger!
I’m thinking about this for my c200 & c500m2 .. so is the baseplate make this a no go? You mentioned a new baseplate... have you tested this yet? Also... I don’t do underslung.... but I often use my 70-200... would that work with this ? P.S. great video... very well done... I was bummed to see part 2 is not out yet... I’m thinking about switching from my crane 3s to this... I travel a lot... smaller is better : ) thank you
@@mustdodiving5263 I’m still waiting for the ring and the baseplate. Might be a while too. The 70-200 is most likely a no go though. Maybe with counter weights
I got the RS2 for the lighter weight alone. Now I'm amazed by how easy it is to use and set up. I'll be shopping for accessories based on your recommendations when Part 2 comes around.
Great workarounds! At least you were able to make the most out of both the gimbals and accessories. Those who complain about the RS2 "not working" should definitely watch your videos!
Man, I've been coming back and re-watching this video every day trying to evaluate if I should take the plunge on the RS2 for my c300iii. Can't wait for part 2 and seeing how the tilta accessories work!
@@damiencooper haha, I bet! Nothing like waiting indefinitely for a backordered product 😂 Thanks for taking the plunge first so people like me can learn without dropping the coin first 😂
Super useful video man. I have almost the same setup (Eos R6 + Canon RF28-70 f2), but I'm wondering if the RSC2 would be able to handle this front heavy lens. Or you think I'll be safer by getting the RS2?
i used the rsc2 with the sigma 18-35mm sonya7iii and mc11 converter, it was very jerky and jittery. Do you think the same setup will work smoothly with the rs2? or should i get the crane 3s?
i think you need the Tilta Ecosystem look at youtube " Tilta Ecosystem " first video ;) it's a smaller ring grip setup . . with external battery pack. . you don't need the gimbal battery grip ! it also have matching colors with gimbal !
Wish they had made the arms a little longer, its impossible not to get roll axis wobble when underslung on komodo + medium/long lens. I have tried smallrig extended plate, counter weights, every motor adjustment & it's perfectly balanced on all axis. I hate this thing; never had these problems on other gimbals. It only works with small lenses.
Love this video!!! I got the RS2 back in November, and had to wait until December to get the small-rig plate so I could use my C200 on the gimbal. Question for you - I noticed your C300 doesn't have the viewfinder, did you get that removed by Canon? I'm thinking I'll have to take it off my C200, to properly use it with the RS2 so I can do underslung :O
the C300 doesn't come with the viewfinder. You can add one later if you want. But I would never use it ;) I had the viewfinder on my C200 removed by Canon. Best thing I've done :D
Do you know if the stabilization provided by the Sony A&sii including the IBIS and Active Stabilization is additive to the stabilization provided by gimbals like the DJI RSC2 or RS2 ? Thank you.
Could you share your settings like motor stiffness and things like this? Your footage looks so smooth! I‘m just started to learn the ninja walk and I have these up and down moves in my footage.
Fantastic! I do have a question, I just bought one and there is a little piece that looks like a little arm with a cold shoe mount at the end but I can’t find any tutorials about what it is or how to use it. I am assuming it is some sort of arm, was hoping you might be able to help me figure out how to mount it.
You add the arm to the back of the gimbal and you can then attach the grip to that arm to have an additional handle to go under slung. In the shots where belle is skating she’s using the mini tripod as a handle but you can use the handle with the cold shoe
I’m looking for a thin lightweight HDMI cable to use with my RS2. I EXTERNALLY record from my Sony a7siii to my Atomos ninja v. what cable do you use? Would you recommend it?
Does anyone experience a little bit of inconsistency with the follow focus motor? Like a slight jitter? DJI QC is garbage and their window of return (15 days) is very short. Trying to see if I'm the only person who got shafted.
This is the same question I have! I watched Monkey pixels review on the crane 2s and the Dji rs2, both great videos btw. I am a bit confused about which one would be the best setup for me. I have an r6 with an Rf 28-70 and an rf-15 to 35. I have a wheel s and with the 15- 35 I have a very bad camera shake when going over the footage. I've tried with IS on and off, balancing, etc. It's just not consistent in my opinion. I know monkey pixels said they were both great but which one is the best balancing/smoothest footage? I'm assuming RS2 because he mentioned it is his go too now?
Not sure yet. I’ll keep my Crane2s until I get the new baseplate. The way it is right now I prefer the crane. It’s just smoother. But I still think that’s the baseplates fault
I have been experiencing wooble on the roll axis on the rs2. Have anyone else has this problem and tell me how did you solve it? Its a real issue for me
Hi, sag wo hast du die smallrig 3031 Platte bestellt? Amazon hat sie nicht lagernd und bei den deutschen Versandhändlern zahl ich 15€ Versand. Bin auch in Wien. Lg
@monkeypixels I do have C300mk iii and DJI RS2. I tried this camera with Canon 16-35mm lense on this gimble, but not sure why it shakes all the time... its wired to see that momvement. It works with idx mk2. Do you have to do any kind of settings for cinema camera setup?
@@damiencooper i checked it later actually. I wonder, how DJI show Canon 500mk2 in their commercial of DJI RS2, when the guy is shooting a car. and that shot was smooth...
I bouth RS2, but i reaaaally don't like it. Ergonomics not good. Stabilisation a bit worce then on my old Crane 2. Packing in two pices is useless, and this battery indicator making me crazy. Why it shines with a green LED's all the time? And it has no 3/8 hole on a buttom, it's 1/4. And I can't use it without registering it in a app (WTF?). Follow focus a bit jerky. Touch screen is useless and you can not use the joystick in the menu. But as always it's only my opinion.
