Hello and thank you for checking out my video! In order for the Sony A7C to talk to the gimbal you need to enable PC Remote in the camera menu system here: MENU → (Network) → [Smartphone Connect] → [Smartphone Connection] → [Off] MENU → (Network) → [Transfer/Remote] → [PC Remote Function] → [PC Remote] → [On]

This is by far the best video on how to setup this gimbal, especially for a beginner. I appreciate all the details and what I most appreciate is the why. Understanding why I’m doing something really makes it sink in more for me. Thank you for putting this together. I have saved it as a reference as I get used to how to use this thing.

WATCH THIS!!! I purchased my DJI RSC 2 today and I watched this video today too - I can walk away comfortably knowing how to assemble, calibrate, and manipulate modes from this video. Thank you, Jason! Proficiency will come with time/practice, but this video is where any new user needs to start. I will definitely mark this video to reference again.

Fyi in case you haven't noticed: photo shooting is not compatible with USB-C to USB-C connection. It has to be using USB-C to micro-USB cable which comes with the gimbal. That's why we're not able to shoot photos using A7C pairing with this gimbal as A7C doesn't have micro-USB port. I'm wondering whether should upgrade my Ronin SC to this RSC2 after watching your comprehensive tutorial. Thank you for sharing & you're doing really a good job. Appreciated!

3 years old...I just purchased one and have never used a gimbal before. I came upon your video and you helped me set it up!!! It took me a number of tries to balance correctly but once I got balanced, it worked. Do you have a cheat sheet on a pdf that can be downloaded that goes over all the modes, settings? Thanks Molly, but keep in mind with the A7C, the taken photo function still does not work due to the USB-C only connection for the A7C. I mentioned this in the video, but you might have missed it. It's not that big a deal, but time-lapse mode for example won't take the photos for you like it's supposed to. The record button and focus works though. I was hoping for a firmware update to fix this, but have yet to see one from DJI. I still think the gimbal is a fantastic option however!

This tutorial was an absolute life saver. I was so close in giving up but then I found this, you make it seem so easy on how to set up and handle a gimbal, thank you so much for this amazing explanation! I have one question, what focus mode on your camera do you choose when filming with a gimbal? I used to shoot Manual focus but I'm guessing a gimbal makes that really hard, any suggestions? I use wide area usually unless I am trying to focus on something specific, then I will use the center focus area mostly. I also slow the focus transition speed down a bit so it's not to jerky going from one subject to the next.

Bought RSC 2 last week and RU-vid Search pointed me to this video. For a first time gimbal user this video was a godsend. While I am using a Canon 90D on mine, I also cannot figure out how to take photographs using the RSC 2 Record Button. Did you discover how to do this with your Sony camera?

Thank you Edgar :) That feature does not work with my Sony A7C, so no I didn't figure out any work around, sorry.

Yeah it is a bit heavy for sure! I did figure out a trick though :) If you put the tripod attachment on the bottom and close it so it's basically extending the handle. Then when wearing a belt you can rest the very bottom of the handle in between your belt and jeans for example. Just a little bit so it helps hold the weight. So the gimbal is in front of you, but the very bottom of the handle is resting on your hip area sort of... Does that make any sense? Hard to explain... I was using this method while cruising on my segway the other day and it worked great!

Hey Jay with some practice you can get it into briefcase and under slung mode without even touching the camera. You kind of just turn the handle around the camera and twist at the same time. It's weird at first but definitely easy once you do it a few times. Learned it first on the Ronin S 👊🏽
