Just got a Spark. This is an excellent easy to follow set of instructions to get up and running. I wasn't sure how to get started as this is also my first real done but this helped tremendously. Thanks for taking the time to make such a great video.
As a professional lecturer and educator I must say that this is one of the best put together tutorials PERIOD and my favorite for my new quadcopter hobby. Great job and THANK YOU.

Straight out of the box there are so little by way of start up instructions, particularly what needs to link to what, how, and in which order. Your excellent instruction and presentation has gone a long way to relieving my frustration in getting the Spark to lift off the ground. hey man i need some help..my drone is updated with latest firmware..everything is set after seeing the video..i am using controller but when i take off my sparky drifts back and doesnt stay in 1 position...can you plz help me what i can do to fix it and what is the emergency stop button on controller to bring it to land if it drifts
i think i missed doing both steps..will do that and post results..thanks a lot..just a quick question this happened when there was no GPS signal so does this results in drift?

This video presentation was EXCELLENT! There is so much rubbish on youtube and this was by far more superior than anything else I have found. Clear instruction delivered in a "real time" fashion where I didn't need to pause the video to catch up, etc.. Best thing is....my Spark is ready to fly! Thank you.
Awesome presentation. Hey, first timers: Don't miss out on this great intro. Didn't even seem it was 20 min. long. Straight to the point and very valuable info. Just got my Spark couple days ago and the first day i tried to set it up it didn't go well and I went to bed that night very frustrated to say the least. Next day i found your video and I just wanted to say thank you for the step by step walk through on activating everything. We all know what comes with the Spark is not going to help you in anyway! Thanks for the tips! I haven't seen any other videos recommend recalibration out of the box but it definitely makes sense to me lol. This is my first drone, and I'm hoping that the Spark will open doors for me! I am a musician and often go to festivals and outdoor concerts, so having a drone to help memorialize the moments is something I highly value! I haven't made my first flight yet, but have a large open field nearby so hopefully not having the prop guards (until they ship to me) won't hurt :D
Anyone trying to connect for the first time on an iPhone or iPad, when the wifi says 'no internet connection', just ignore it and go into the dji go app. It will be connected
I was literally going to return my Spark until I watched this. I already began the process to return but this helped me get past the QR code thing that does not work at all and is what DJI says you need to do to connect the device to your phone. Thank you. I have already used it and I love it.

I just received a DJI Spark for Christmas, had trouble following the wifi linking instructions and firmware updates as it kept dropping from wifi mid firmware update. Found your video and it really helped! Was out flying an hour later.
Just bought a DJI Spark and could not activate. I was having an issue with the aircraft's Wi-Fi connection.Looked at DJI video and still unable to activate Spark Drone. Called DJI support was on for about 1 hour and girl tech unable to help me activate. Did a You Tube search on how to activate Spark Drone which brought me to your video. I watched the first part of this video and was able to activate the Spark Drone. It took approximately 3 minutes. Thanks FlyPath for a clear and down to earth video. I am now a subscriber.

I just got a second hand spark and with your video I got the spark to work but I could not connect to the remote because the password was changed. is there a way to reset the remote so I can connect it to my phone and my spark.

Awesome video, I just put in an order for my spark(white) and I was really interested about hard wiring connection and this video helped me a lot. By the way I also use same size ipad and the mavmount for my Mavic.
Thanks so much! Just got my Spark. Can you answer this? When I hit TakeOff... it says "taking off... new home point recorded"... or something like that. It then says, "check the map". What does that mean? Then I fly... then press the return to home icon and the drone simply lands wherever it is. It doesn't come back to the landing pad. What am I doing wrong? Also... is there a MANUAL exposure setting for video? Looking toward the sun or bright sky really clamps down the rest of the image. ?? Thanks. PS. I ordered that case. Thanks!
Maybe you are pressing the land button? Usually when you press return home, the decive will return to the home point, hover for a few seconds and then land
Out of the 100s of videos on the subject on RU-vid, your video stands head and shoulders above everyone else's - The BEST video on configuration, set-up, synchronisation etc - you have saved me endless hours after a frustrating start. Needless to say I am now a subscriber - keep up the Spark content - loveit.
When you use the hardwire from remote to mobile device do you have to switch the mobile device to AIRPLANE mode or can you leave it as is and does it automatically disable the wifi connect between remote and mobile device. Also, do you have a video for setting up the gps and compass??
I don't think that would be necessary as airplane mode disconnects a cellular network not wifi. As for the last two questions, I don't have this drone so maybe someone that does would be kind enough to answer those questions.

You don't show the Spark flying, did you get it to actually fly? If so you are doing better than the rest of us. Do you have any tips on how to get the remote to pair with the drone and how to get the remote to stop beeping constantly? I've tired everything in all the videos but nothing works and on the forums it looks like a lot of people are having that problem after the last update to .100. Also at 8:27 where you said to press RC Connect and you got a screen with Remote Control linking, there is no such thing! Update, I got the remote to work finally! The problem was the sticks needed to be calibrated. It thought the throttle was always pushed up part way so it beeped constantly and wouldn't connect and since it doesn't have an LCD screen it couldn't tell what was wrong.
Hi Steve, did you get it to stop beeping? What you have to do is keep the link buttons held down when it is beeping, then you should get a green solid light after about 5 seconds......the key is to hold the three link buttons on the controller. Hope you got flying, I just got my spark and I had the same problem until I figured it out
@@eamonnleahy When I connected the phone to the remote I found the problem to be the Throttle wouldn't calibrate. Opened it up and found a loose screw stuck to the throttle stick on the bottom preventing it from moving properly so it wouldn't go all the way down. The screw was a little black one like they used to assemble the thing but there were none loose or missing so it must have fallen in there when they were putting it together.
iPads ARE tablets, there are Android tablets and Apple tablets. My iPads are Apple tablets, tablet is a generic non brand term for that type of device.
Being new to drones I watched quite a few vids to help me learn what I was getting into and to help me decide which brand and model I should set my sights on. Thanks to you and a few other RU-vidrs, I learned a lot before I made my decision. I opted for the Spark with the Fly More Combo. I just got my Spark this past Monday. I set it up but have not yet had the opportunity to fly it. Thank you for making such informative videos. You give very concise step-by-step instructions that are to the point and are not confusing. I am now using your vids as the go-to when I need some more info. You should produce these for DJI. You do a much better job than they do.

Thanks for the walk through. You were extremely helpful since the QR code scan does not work and I wasn't able to find any good instructions on how to manually connect the WiFi. Thanks to your walk through it took me minutes to get it connected to the app and up and flying after an hour of trying to use the QR code.
Thank you so much, just spent 3 hours getting the firmware and just understanding what a complicated device this is. DJI have really gone out the way to produce a guide that needs an electron microscope to read. Seriously not a plug and play affair. Thanks again. Now onto annoying the neighbours in London UK :)

I just purchased the DJI SPARK and I was surprised when I attempted to read the operation manuals/ mini- booklets. Truth be told, I have decent vision, however there was no way I could successfully read the micro print. So in fact this video was extremely useful! Thank You very much FLYTPATH !

Mega kudos! This was the ticket. Just what I needed to get my new Spark dialed in. Finally! Got it to update the firmware and connect to my iPhone / iPad etc. Not new to all this having had a MavicPro with all the updates, etc. The Spark? Struggled mightily until carefully watched this video. Perfect. As I said I have even done the DJI Assistant 2 for the P3 but now for whatever reason kept hitting the wall with the Spark wifi for the RC and the bird must less the Spark firmware. But the.BINGO! The eureka moment came as I watched this well done and comprehensive instructional video. 👍👍👍👍👍👌🚁 Thanks so much - after a week of frustration it's all good. Thank you for your craft and hard work. Thanks so much for sitting down and giving us a detailed step-by-step set up walk through. I've watched this once already as my batteries are charging. I'll watch it again to set up. So glad I got this instead of the Mavic. I don't think people realize how involved and how much information you should already know before "piloting" essentially a small aircraft. We have a mini-quad copter toy and that was my first experiencs in flying. Later we got a Hubsan X4 mini Quad and that thing can move and is extremely fun to fly. I've seen teenagers flying Phantoms into buildings 4 stories up! So glad I got the Spark. I still have so much to learn....Great information and thanks for sharing it all.

I think this is the most comprehensive video on spark set up. It has perfectly outlined the road blocks that occur along the way and how to negotiate them. I have enjoyed your videos and appreciate the details and time put in on each one of them. I still fly Phantom vision plus and while not a complete novice still found this set up a bit confusing
