Problem solved!! I was having the exact same problem, and none of the internet tricks were working. Here is what finally worked: Do the thing where you hold the power button while inserting the battery. When the green light goes off, release the button IMMEDIATELY. That is, release it BEFORE the fast red blink. At that point i got a slower red blink that continued, and TELLO was available on wifi. I then could update the firmware. If you are still having the problem, i hope this works. Thanks for your video.
UPDATE: I finally got It Working somehow. Yes Razer Tello tech support want me to pay them $94 yo get it fix, I refused to pay and they sent me my Tello back. Box came all broken.. I wish I could of upload pictures so you can see. Anyway how I got it working. After trying holding the power button on while inserting the battery did not work for me I ordered new battery from ebay. Batteries arrived but no luck trying charging batteries still no luck till I just gave up. Yesterday after reviewing all the comments on this video I decided to give it another try. So I figured charging the battery to see if drone was actually communicating was a good idea. I tried charging battery but no lights where showing on the tello. So what I did? I inserted the battery into drone, hold power button while connecting the charging cable this time a red light came on and stay on. I left it like that for over and hour after an hour red light was still on. I unplugged it. And try put it in on same problem it will flash green the red light will come on and stay on red. I noted tello wifi kicked in on my phone I connected to it opened the tello app but was not able to control or do anything to the dron. Red light was still on the Tello. So I check for firmware update but firmware was show version 0.0.0 meaning it was not reading the drone. I got my ipad and downloaded the Tello app on it same thing turned tello off back on again while red light was coming and staying on conned tello wifi to ipad and try to do firmware update for my surprises I was able to download the firmware but when installing it to Tello it just froze at 30% and nothing else happened. I finally turned back off and try to put it on again. This time I pressed the power button while the battery was out inserted the battery and let go on the power button after like a second or two this time I noted the light on the Tello started flashing like kind of orange and not red it will keep flashing kind of orange and greenish I grabbed the ipad connected to tello via wifi oponed the Tello app and BINGO tello light started flashing green. I was in shock. I try to fly it. It will take off but ai couldn’t control it after a second or two it will eventually la d on its own and app will give me a warning of overheating. So it was late last night I went to bed and todayI started messing with it again I noted the battery I was using had a big bubble and was kind of hard to inserted it into the tello. I grabbed the other new battery put it to charge now the battery was charging fine and a blue light was flashing. When battery was fully charge I turned Tello on normal just pressing the power button and hold it for like a second or two and drone was flying fine. I flew it for about 10 minutes till battery was very low. I hope it keep working fine. So my suggestions are the follow. If you have the same problem buy a new battery. See if the battery charge fine when you plug Tello to the usb charge if not you may want to buy a charging station or do it yourself charging. There are videos on how to do this. Other suggestions is take battery out hold power on insert battery the try to charge it. If light is flashing blue tello is charging your battery fine. Good luck and thank to everyone who contributed to find a fix
Hey idk if you ever fixed this problem but I think I’m having the same problem it’s not the battery or the drone it’s the power button connector I opened the bottom of the drone to see why I wouldn’t power off after my last flight or re power on & a small piece of metal canine flying out I looked it up & tried to sit it where it seemed to be in the picture & the drone came on but it won’t stay in place & is still missing a small plastic piece that’s supposed to help engage & disengage the power button connected to that piece
Don Choppa hmm not sure if this is my problem but razer tech support did mot fix it for me and did not tell me what the problem is. They want to charge $94 dollars to fix it
RcHobbies BK I had to send my drone off too them they tried to charge me to but the drone should be under warranty for a few months after I argued with them they fixed it for free
scott turner no it was not my battery although the old battery its not good according to Razer tech support. I purchased new battery and problem still happened. I sent it back to Razer tech support and they were charging me $94 dollars to fix it plus some extra for a new battery. I refused to pay and they sent it back to me. I have not try to fix it since they sent it back most likely something burned or its malfunctioning with it. But razer did not tell me what the problem is
Here is how I fixed mine: Press and hold the Power Button for 5 seconds when the Tello is powered off, and release it when the green indicator turns off. Then the indicator will pulse red. Connect to the Tello's Wi-Fi and update the firmware again by using the Tello app. Make sure that before you update the firmware, the firmware version indicated on the app should be "00.00.00.00"
I let my Tello sit for a year and a half i was out of town i bought a new battery and it won't charge i think some people got good ones and some got bad ones i just bought a new mini 2 se i hope it does better than the Tello if not DJI is not as good as people say it is.
Hey thank you for you input/comments. Yeah it look like the Tello drones came with some issues. Good choice on the Dji mini 2. And for your information DJi is not who make Tello. Tello is make and distributed by Ryze Tech. They are licensed and branded by DJ.
@@nepe5750 you gotta get a new battery. That what I did and I used it for a few days then I accidentally flew it to high and it blew away so I lost it 😞
@@Jakebored000 sorry I don’t understand what you are trYing to say. Are you saying that You bough a chArger. And you charge the battery to blue but drone still not working?
Get yourself a new battery. Make sure it is charged, before you insert the battery into the drone hold the power button on the drone and insert the battery. Check if the light start to flash orange and go to the mobil device and try to connect it to tello. Good luck
Thanks me later- First move delete the softwere from you phone and download the old version 1.1.1 Then put the tello in chrage and press on the side button until it became red. Then update it from the softwere (3 dots symble option). don't forget if you using wifi connection u need to update it in 2 steps. First downlod it via the app Then connect the tello wifi . Then just update the tello and wallla it recharge it again
Dear friend, sory for my bad english, but i have the same problem, and solve it!!! 1.- first press continuosly the button and put the batery, when the red light y flashing slowly, find whit the phone and connect you phone whit drone. 2.- in tello aplication, find upgrate firmware, and disconectt wifi, conect 4g data and download firmware. 3.- re activate wifi, when tello is connect again transfer firmware and READY!!! I Hope you have Luky!! kind regards
Firmware gets corrupted and erased if the drone isn't used for a while. As said, press power button with USB lead attached and insert battery, when you see the red light pulsing, connect to your phone and update the firmware. Worked for me.
