i dont understand how people can hate djokovic tbh .. im a alcaraz fan but i absolutely love this guy .. always humble in victory and defeat always shows great sportsmanship and what a player he is absolute legend .. and also proud of carlitos of the level he already can produce at 20 yrs old against a goat of the game .. what a final thanks to both legends 🤝👑👑

Every great player has something he does very well. Djokovic's defense is very tough to punch through. But such a defense could be completely neutralized by a player in the mode of Federer or Sampras, when their attacking game is on. And then at other times, Djokovic's defense would win the day. Simple as that.

Haters (on both sides) take note of the respect and admiration these two have fro one another. Win or lose, they are both gracious and complimentary about one another, and you can tell it's sincere. I am beginning to think that NOVAK DJOKOVIC is truly THE GOAT. I mean at 36 yrs old to beat a red hot unstoppable Alcaraz, is just an incredible feat. Federer and Nadal were outstanding but Nole just keeps churning out these kind of wins, to keep proving his legendary abilities as a champion
@raymondfan2402
@raymondfan2402 9 месяцев назад
He's clearly already the GOAT by all important numbers and statistics. No one would have faulted him for just completely losing out on the H2H at this age against someone 16 years younger who is obviously in line to become the next great. If anything every win against Alcaraz from now on is just extra cherries on top. People were giving Fed the age pass when he was losing to all time greats 5 years younger than him while he was in his early 30s lol. What Novak is doing now is infinitely more impressive IMO and is just more proof of what we already know.

The so called “objective” experts, analysts, commentators and media fail to mention this. Both Roger & Rafa grew up in privileged and affluent environments in Switzerland and Spain with proper facilities to learn and train. Novak grew in a poor war torn country with almost no facilities to learn or train. In fact his parents had to schedule his training to avoid constant bombing raids. Both Roger & Rafa had easy & soft childhoods with little or no pressure place on them in their affluent environments. Novak grew up poor and his parents invested all they had for his career. Novak knew at an early age tennis for him was a duty, not simply a privilege or for fun. He fully understood before he was a teenager the massive weight place on his shoulders of his whole family on him to succeed in his pro career Both Roger & Rafa started 5 & 2 years before Novak, which gave both of them a big head start start and many more tournaments to pad their records in the race for GOAT. Both Roger & Rafa had the the billion dollar industry of the big sponsors pushing the narratives of them being the best. Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the TV commentators to continue to push the narrative of them being the best. Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the Internet analysts to promote them. Novak was generally shunned most of his career Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the court-side fans. During his entire career, anytime Novak played against Roger or Rafa, 90-98% of the crowds favored them over Novak. In fact, the hostile crowds many times constantly tried to harass, taunt, and disrupt Novak during course of his matches against both Roger & Rafa. The draws have been fixed to favor Roger & Rafa over Novak. Here are the facts. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B6UPa4l4Xns.html Rogers era of competition was far weaker then Novaks. Simply look at the facts. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--dp2JgqvHVYI.html 10. Both Roger & Rafa have had to compete only against opponents on the other side of the net. In addition to competing with Opponents, Novak has had to compete against the Sponsers, announcers, ATP, commentators, fans, governments etc. Inspite of Novak not being allowed tp play many Majors & Masters, and the facts he has been been cheated out of many weeks #1 by freezing the rankings and losing 2000 points by winning Wimbledon, he still has 96% of the significant records.

I'm a Djokovic fan but enjoy watching Alcaraz play and this was a roller-coaster of a draw. Alcaraz' slice-kick on the forehand side was incredible (or maybe a combination of ball pressure and ambient temperature). Djokovic pretty chill here. They probably should have suggested a different colored warmup for the post-match.

Djokovic will come out of the US Open as the world number 1 once he goes past the second round/second match as Carlos has 2000 points to defend and even if he wins he will still stay at 9815 points and currently Djokovic is placed at 9795 points only 20 points behind carlos.... 99.99% it's confirmed that Novak will be the world number after the us open and if he wins the us open novak will jump directly to 11795 points where I don't think Carlos will catch him for a while...May be for one last time novak will end the year with #1 title
@KCNwokoye
@KCNwokoye 9 месяцев назад
Remember that Carlos also didn't play the Australian Open,Paris Masters and ATP finals which Djokovic won both and reached the finals and enjoying the points from those wins. Djokovic also has about 5000 points to defend after the US Open. So Carlos if he's healthy will have his chances. it will balance itself out.
@Summon256
@Summon256 9 месяцев назад
Yes, that's what i was thinking too! Besides USO has a long history of being unpredictable (especially for the last 15 years or so...), It's not granted that Alcaraz will reach USO finals this year to even begin with...if loses it any stage before final it will be an over 3000 points jump ahead for Novak and that gap can only be narrowed if Alcaraz plays and wins virtually everything come September and still has to hope Novak himself doesn't win a single point...good chance for Novak to end as #1 for the 8th (and probably like you said final) time this year! Fingers crossed! He needs this USO like never before in his career, maybe with the exception of 2021!! I can't stress enough how it's i portant this year!
@omkarop1834
@omkarop1834 9 месяцев назад
@@Summon256 exactly....even if Djokovic reaches quarters/semis or finals of the USO he will take a pretty decent lead and for alcaraz to come back to #1 he will have to win at paris masters or Shanghai masters and reach the final of the other and above all he has to win the atp finals to go past Djokovic....its not that Djokovic won't play a single match after the USO till the atp finals... He will play both the masters Tournaments and may be some 250/500 events before the atp finals and then the atp finals and he will gain some points too.... Alcaraz has to play everything and win everything to surpass nole which is almost an impossible task
@Summon256
@Summon256 9 месяцев назад
@@KCNwokoye What happens in the beginning of 2024 is unimportant for year-end results of this season! And Shanghai is masters tournament that alone has more free points for Novak to gather from winning it, than both of his ATP250 and ATP500 titles last year! So no, it doesn't balances itself out...

Alcaraz should thank God for this defeat, it could be a win easily but if he won that second set he wouldn't learn much, and for a player his ambitions Cincinnati should be only a test and warming up for US Open... With that being said I guarantee this 3rd set would improve his game on hard court by miles, and if he wins US Open by defeating Novak on that way I will be 100% sure thats because of this match and that 3rd set cause Alcaraz is the best learner in tennis I've ever seen. Hes like an Artificial Inteligence, Novak shouldn't have given him so much material to learn from.

i tell it again and again. Djokovic biggest opponent is always the weather. Everbody saw how weak djokovic physical was between 4-3 first set until 4-2 in the second set when the court was with the sun and the heat, but when the shadow came and the extreme heat was gone and the night session came djokovic plays unbelievebel. AGAIN AND DJOKOVIC BIGGEST OPPONEENT IS the heat and the wind like in wimbledon final 2023....Without the wind djokovic would never ever lost that final WIMBLEDON FINAL 2023....YOURE the GREATEST OF ALL TIME THE REAL GOAT::::IDEMOOOOOOO GOOD LUCK IN NEW YORK CHAMP

Alcaraz is Djokos biggest opponent now, not the weather. Weather is part of the game. Conditioning is a huge skill. Djokovic lost in Wimbledon. No excuses. Alcaraz lost in Roland Garros with cramps (bc of weather). No excuses. Props to Djoko for being at this level at 36. Props to Alcaraz for playing at this level at 20.
@Flamamacue
@Flamamacue 9 месяцев назад
He made some terrible shot choices & shots in crucial moments at Wimbledon that the wind was clearly a factor in. I will say Alcaraz seems to be able to adapt to change like that a little better than Novak
@rkymtnchi503
@rkymtnchi503 9 месяцев назад
@@Flamamacue just my personal opinion but I think it's mental pressure more than weather. I mean who should be more likely to understand how to combat unusual weather, the rookie or the veteran? Novak is trying to cement his legacy, Carlos is just starting. Sometimes guys are too young to realize the gravity of a situation. You could be right, I could be right, or it could be a combination of factors. All I know is that it's exciting tennis
@raymondfan2402
@raymondfan2402 9 месяцев назад
Bruh, all of their matches have been extremely close and went the distance with mostly closely contested sets. Lets be real in Paris if Alcaraz didn't cramp it likely would have went 5 sets there too. Their levels of tennis are just that close. You can't say that the weather is the factor when these two players are just evenly matched swords and the slightest variation in one of their shots could change the outcome of a whole match. I'm a novak superfan and I'll support him until the very end, but that doesn't mean we as novak fans should disrespect the legendary level of competition Carlos is bringing to the table. At the end of the day it's about making the shots in the highest stakes situation possible because both of these players push each other to that extreme. Sometimes they deliver, sometimes they don't. That's the highest level of sport. Lets call it and appreciate it for what it is.
@kieranrankie203
@kieranrankie203 9 месяцев назад
I think it's pretty disrespectful and arrogant to say Djokovic's biggest opponent is the weather. Alcaraz goes toe-to-toe, 50/50, with Djokovic every time they play. Clearly Alcaraz is his biggest opponent.

By shortening his points I would include implementation of serve and volley more and following second serve return to net for attacking volley. This may be a hard transition because his baseline game is close to perfection and is ingrained already.
