Have you got a DJ club gig coming up and want to know how to set loops manually without performance pads - then you must watch this video. DJ tips and tricks explained simply!
The thing that confuses me is the fact most DJs I know do a much better set on a controller with performance pads , having all preset cues loops …., at the end of the day it’s about the music yes but club gear is expensive yet more basic and has restrictions , most guys don’t have access to it before going to a club , if I owned a club I’d say use what ever kit you want on the night long as the crowed is happy start to finish
Or you can just hold loop in button for a sec and it will create 4 beat loop. And would suggest to have quantize ON, so you don't have to struggle with matching loop start/ending to the bar. ))
Holding in button for a second only works on some gear not others, and some even have a button that sets off a 4 beat leap. I was trying to stick with methods that relate to most gear - old and new so when people turn up to play at clubs they don't get stuck. You're right though I should mention quantise. Although I enjoy the shorts, getting in all the content in under a minute is tricky. Originally I also talked about halving beats and doubling beats in this video but had to edit it out as it took the video over a minute - more to come though in this series :) Thanks for keeping me on the ball ;)
The loop end button still lights up because there's a loop saved behind it. You can reeloop it if you press it and then you'll jump back to the lasted loop you've set ✌🏽✌🏽
The Denon SC6000 would be better than my outdated gear, but I do like the new CDJ 3000's!!! Sorry, Pioneer boy at heart :/ but in saying that it's good we are blessed with choice!
