Hey, guys! I need a video J1Q for the Double Shot tomorrow! Email me with a 30-second selfie video asking about the Steelers: DK@DKPittsburghSports.com -
Get ready for the Justin Fields experience. Does just enough to wow you but always falls short. Then the defense and his receivers get blamed. You’ll be hoping like Bears fans did for 3 years.
@@andref9663 this ain't the bears, bears are notorious for bad coaches and qbs. Look what they did with 2019 Mason, an immobile vet ben. Who can forget about trubisky and Pickett.
Being a fan since 1975 and I'm starting to belive this fan base is the worse fan base for any team...if the Steelers win everybody is happy and talking about playoffs after 3 games but when they lose they're talking about fire this coach, cut this player or trade this player as if they know how to win every game with no mistakes if they were on the team...delusional couch players/coaches
I can't believe the defense got shredded by Joe Flacco smh, and Arthur Smith called a really bad game he needs to stop calling runs from shotgun especially from 2nd and long. Fields looked really good other than a few bad plays he was keeping them in the game
Listen they got punched in the mouth first 3 drives they should’ve lost the game they looked flat. second half much better but gosh hate when the defense can’t get off the field and missed on opportunities to get the ball back. Eventually the fumble was gonna get Pickens dude carriers the ball like a loaf of bread
Hey now, let's not "JUMP" to conclusions. He hasn't hurdled anyone since Alabama. However, Washington successfully did. Najee was never a starting quality NFL back. No big play potential, not the bruiser he's falsely labeled as, mediocre out of the backfield, etc. Can't wait until he's gone, personally.
@@SportsSharp412that's exactly it. Najee doesn't excel at any aspect of running. He's slow, has poor vision, isn't elusive, really not an effective bruising back. What can you point to and say he does really well at? The difference between him and Warren/Patterson in explosiveness alone is night and day. Good call by Khan not giving him the extension because we can replace his production anywhere honestly
@@alancollins2707 I personally like Warren better but to be fair this college offense that has taken over the NFL is hard to watch. I bet if you had a fullback in front of Najee and a QB under center he would be putting up way better stats. Having all these QB s in shotgun handing off is just not made for the NFL.
For the love of all football gods pls STOP handing off to Najee on 1st & 2nd to run into a brick wall!! Tomlin let Arthur smith call a real game - looked like Canada was back esp in 1st half. Every other RB looks better than Najee unless maybe 4th quarter. What happened to our defense?! Stop playing stupid soft zones. Get it together boys & coaches
The very High paid defense lost this game come on man gave up 360 yrds the defense stunk OL stunk Justin Fields showed me something again Pickens fumbled cost them a game dropped TD pass also
Our front defensive line got pulverized. Our offense should have opened it up earlier.Patrick Queen looks bad to me.Watt where was he?we had a tornado warning in my area so i missed the last quarter and a half so there’s you tube. Why are we going run, run, pass.Mix it up.Indy’s defense is better than media in Pittsburgh portrayed.Dallas is going to kick Pittsburgh’s butt and that infuriates me.
The whole league is hot and cold.teams looking bad one week and looking unbeatable the next.also the penalties in this league are sometimes undefinable.
This is true. A lot of these guys just looked off today. So much of this game is mental.. if they were overlooking the Colts a little, it wouldn't have surprised me.
I get it. I'm a huge Najee fan. But him not getting out of bounds with 50 seconds left, burned me up! Cmon he is a veteran that knows better. Doesn't he?!
Players, play. Coach's, coach, you can't blame the coach when the players are not doing their job. Players have to take the responsibility. Each of us have a job to do can we blame our supervisor if thing don't go right because we are slacking at our job.😮. If they are not blocking, or running the right hole, or running the correct route. YOU CANT BLAME THE COACHES.
Huh, I wonder why the running game looked better when Cordarelle Patterson was in the game, just like how it looked better when Jaylen Warren was in there last year? What a wild coincidence isn’t it?
i think you underestimate how much play calling and run-blocking contributed to najee’s struggles today. specifically, i can’t overlook the sweep/pitch to the left on the cp84 drive. arthur smith seems to get a lobotomy before every game and decides to become matt canada until midway through the 3rd. run, run, pass on every drive when you’re down 14 isn’t a formula to win football games. when the defense knows najee is running on every first down, it’s hard to be successful. losing james daniels was huge. that najee dump was a key play in our comeback. if you’re blaming anything other than the boneheaded mistakes, you don’t know ball. this isn’t on tomlin. this isn’t on najee. he doesn’t tell george to run inside the 10 with the ball extended out in his non-dominant hand like he’s mike vick or cam newton. mike t didn’t tell fields to make the worst play i’ve ever seen in a steelers uniform on 3rd down, which led to another scoreless drive. i’m not blaming fields; i’m honestly really conflicted about his performance. he had moments where he looked like a god. i think both of those rushing tds were scrambles on 3rd down, but the fields experience is a rollercoaster. you can’t win football games when you can’t get off the field on 3rd down. flacco going 6-7 passing on third down for firsts is the stat that’s sticking with me. bad loss. needed this.
man im not looking forward to this defense playing dallas or chiefs or even the jets any competent offense is gunna torch this defense tomlin constantly getting outcoached so tired of it all of pitt is tired of the tim tebow like losses its so annoying
Corderelle Patterson and Jaylen Warren runs well through the same O-line than Najee Harris does....and both Corderelle and Jaylen are more effective in putting up yardage. What is Najee not seeing that the other two are?
This has been the same old tired story for 8 years now. Tomlin the best coach in the league but has one playoff win since 2016. Team plays down to the level of competition, but plays just well enough to not have a losing season. It’s a joke.
I think it's a disadvantage in the NFL in this day & age to not be a more offensive minded head coach .Need to be strategic as well as a great leader .Can't be one sided
Like i said lets see what happens when we get down by 10 and we found out. The only time they open the offense is when they get down and are forced to. On 4th and 1 you line up in the shotgun so now you are 5 yards away from the first down? Running the ball on 2nd and 15 ? JPJ and Queen not wanting any part of tackling. Tomlin with another challenge flag that had 0 chance of being overturned. This team will never win another SB with Tomlin running this team. You have a mobile QB and no designed rollout passes is unreal. Stop handing the ball off to Najee out of the shotgun it has not worked for 4 years. I could call defenses against the Steelers on first down its run 80% of the time. How about line up under center with 3 TE fake hand off roll out the opposite way and throw the ball to our TEs . Dallas defense may be giving up a lot of points but they can score and our conservative high school designed offense of the past 4 years better get with the times.
Najee is Horrid! Our 3rd down defense is Horrid! We couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. Didn't matter if it was 3rd and short or 3rd and long. There was a point when Flacco was 6 for 7 on 3rd down with 6 conversions! I don't wanna hear about najee's 4,000 yards in the past. Dude is slow, he dances too much still and can hardly make it past the line of scrimmage. I think he was 13 for 18 yards today. There's a reason when warren and Patterson are on the field that they look so much better than najee, because they are! Every time Cordell or Warren touch the ball a splash play happens or they gain 6 or 7 yards each touch. Najee gets ran to the sidelines or has to fight his way for 1 or 2 yards. Dude just isn't that good. I'm glad they didn't pay him or pick up that option. And I'll be happy to see them let him walk next season. He doesn't do much for us. And for the love of God if I see one more early snap I'm gonna pull my hair out. There has been at least one every game this season so far.
Minka is so overrated, he got his 💰and settled into mediocrity. I’m glad we got Elliot, he’s been way better. Queen is not very good, he can’t pass cover, or stop the run, he has no awareness at all, it’s clear Roquan made him look good. Najee sucks. The whole o-line was a disaster today, there was several times today multiple guys didn’t provide any resistance at all to pass rushers on plays, unacceptable. Porter needs to catch several hundred balls on the juggs machine every practice, it’s hard to believe someone’s hand eye coordination could be so bad. Get Fields a legitimate WR 2. Hopefully getting smacked in the mouth today wakes the boys up.
Justin Fields did more this week in a loss to earn the title qb1 than he has so far. To make that many mistakes, and still have a shot in the end?, imagine when they clean them up , and they will its Sept like Chris said and its the best time to see this so you can fix it as DK said . We're 3-1 Sept is usually our worst month in recent years anyway. We'll be okay Here We Go Steelers!!!
Listen fans they obviously thought that they could go into this game with the same game plan that they had in the past few games. Stop the run play zone cuz Richardson cant complete enough passes to beat us. But richardson gets hurt and flacco killed our zone coverages. The offense was trying to stay conservative and control the ball... But they got down by 2 scores and they had to let fields loose. Hopefully they learned that Justin can handle the work load so let him throw more on first downs and stop being so predictable on first downs they bout to go on a run.
dear Dejan, suddenly the ghosts of these some many seasons of Mike Tomlin losing to teams with losing record and plagued with injuries again and again happen. This team as in the past was unprepared, can't believe at this level these wrong snapps happen every game and sorry to say: defense had no clue today on how to stop a very bad team with just a great RB. Richardson was like in a throwing practice and we were lucky he was injured. So tired to leave this every season, there is no way you can be a contender for the Lombardi if the coaching staff brings this type of preparation. Dejan, we were playing the 31th defense in run stopping and there was no Cam no Benton nobody. Watt wasn't there against a rockie T and ILB were abscent. Sorry for the extent, but there was the believe that Tomlin this year was going to bring discipline and preparedness , today we were a joke, sorry to say. Warm regards from Costa Rica, Lazaro
Fields looked great! I gotta eat my words. I wasn't a believer the first two games but the last two all i can say is i stand corrected. The defense however was not great, in all fairness they can't live on the field either. Our running game is a big problem or specifically Harris. He hasn't really looked good so far this year. It's a shame Warren isn't healthy. Too bad to end up losing a game that should've been won.
If I could possibly ever feel good after a loss its this one and only because this team is so young and /or new to each other I understand your concern about penalties but when here one sided to the point of ridiculousness and a QB keeper from the shotgun is just stupid I don't see much change in the offensive design from the guy before Canada and That tell me it's Tomlin especially with the answer he gave about it he design of that 4th down try
Tomlin needs to get the botched snaps fixed and under control. It's been happening in every game since preseason. Maybe change the way they do the silent count. Try clapping. Something easier.
Could not run the ball against the worse rush defense in inexcusable. Defense didn’t force turnovers and got out played. Need to be better all around ! Cowboys coming to town and they can score!
That bad snap was on the center. When you look at the all 22, you'll see the left guard looking back at Justin also. So he wasn't ready to block when the ball was snapped.
Tomlin teams have a history of not showing up in the first half. Maybe do the first 2 or 3 possessions in the hurry up offense so we show some type of life in the 1st half.
Everybody needs to look at the Washington game today and Steeler game today and see the diff between Daniels and Fields. Daniels run with purpose and Fields runs not to get hurt.
and guess what we gotta play that team this year lmao. ITs gunna be a long ass season. We might be 3-6 by the time we play baltimore this is not a playoff team in any way shape or form they are frauds
I distinctly remember Arthur in an interview saying "we can't be predictable" a while back. Does he have amnesia???? Him and Tomlin would be THE WORST poker players EVER!!!!!! For goodness sakes mix it up a lil!!!!! And y in the heck are u FINALLY deciding to throw the ball when its a sense of urgency when u could have jst started that game with that same momentum? Its almost as if Tomlin loves digging himself in a hole and seeing if he can pull himself out.
24 pts.. besides the mistakes, the offense looked good in the 2nd half. This loss is on the Defense. Couldn't make adjustments in 1st half, after Flacco came in and the short middle passing game killed them. 2nd half defense played better but 17 in the 1st half killed them. Offense did their job in the 2nd half.
@@selaxlife7621 no, your comment makes little sense lol. To complain of the offensive play calling in this game when the Defense and the big mistakes were the main cause for the loss. OC Smith didn't fumble inside the 5 in yd line, Smith didn't snap it when the Qb wasn't looking. Harris HAS to be better on 1st down runs along with the O line. This offense is a run the ball and play action offense. Smith and the offense had over 400 yds and 24 pts man. Yes, they were running on 1st down a lot. But Patterson was breaking off runs on 1st down and then he went down with injury. Harris has a bum shoulder and it showed. The offense is predicated on getting yards on 1st down via the run. Obviously that needs fixed, but let's not act like the Offense and Smith didn't put up big yards and some points.
@ronaldmckee7542 dude I get that this a run based offense. I get that. But u gotta mix it up to confuse the opponents! Come out with huge play and make them second guess themselves. Run the ball but don't be so damn predictable. They were ready for us! And I am in no way shape or form excusing the defense. Highest paid defense got a free check today.
Off topic totally but I'm so impressed with Kingsbury's offense in Washington..also Head coach in Minnesota ..Disappointed once again with all the mistakes with this team
How about both of y’all try to run up to 15 mph & just jump or try to slide under somebody that’s ridiculous 39 gotta protect his body before thinking about his opponent body
Fields tried his damnedest to pull that win out so im feeling good about him and he should remain the starter, this loss is not on him. The D couldn't stop a nosebleed today so I hope the comparisons to '08 stop. The O-line stuggled. That Pickens fumble was aggravating. And Najee, man idk. Im starting to think this is his last year in Pittsburgh. He cannot get ANYTHING going.
dude this was the worst iv seen the defense in a while they were absolutely cooked and its only week 4 its gunna b a tough season collin coward was right its gunna be a losing season for tomlin
Wasn't the outcome we wanted, but was the one we needed. One too many mistakes. Justin is QB1, let him throw, let him run. I'm not discouraged whatsoever, they'll lick their wounds and they'll be fine! Here we go!
Steelers went down 17-0. That's difficult to come back from. But Fields looked good, throwing for over 300 yds 1td , rushing for 55 yds 2 tds. On a day the defense didn't play great, the offense showed they could score pts. BUT rookie Center (who is very good for a rookie already) doesn't wait to get tapped by the Guard on the silent count. And just snaps it when Fields is looking at the sideline. Minus 12 yds with 1 min left and the game's over. People with blame Fields, but he WAS the reason the offense moved the ball and scored. Defense had to get more stops in 1st half. Good news is Steelers played poorly, and still almost won. So they can over come a deficit.
They held their opponent to under 28 points, under 150 rushing, and only 225 passing with the Colts being just barely over 50% on 3rd down. What more do you want?
Can’t blame bad calls . They go both ways . Steelers just weren’t ready to play on defense today . Other than terrible turnovers , offense looked good , other than Najee Harris
I fear here comes another loss and I say that hours after our first loss, i didn't think we'd go undefeated but this was awful Coaching! Canada 2.0 on offense and I don't even know how to describe the defense. JPJ was horrendous and so was all our inside linebackers. They wiped their butts and stomped on our terrible towel and we didn't seem to know. I'm disgusted and we're going to lose next week as well because our coaching staff will not change?
It happens every year and most years more than once, we lose to bad teams. We got out coached by a country mile. We just keep being predictable, we just can't help it on first down. Cordelle Patterson countered that but of course he just had to get hurt. We would have killed the Colts if we passed first and run second. Here's Tomlin's reason to start Russ when the only good thing we had was Justin Fields
Should have traded nadji harris when we had the chance...Another tomlin pet project. Season after season of mediocre football, 1 or 2 dominate games and the rest are ugly games win or lose. They are just not fun to watch. Makes me sad
Fields had alot of open receivers, he fumbled and lost the ball, snap was his fault, he took sacks he shouldn't have. Far from great! He had moments of greatness, then bad plays. D didn't play to their level either. Najee was awful
Sooo another thing ..I'd like to see or hear maybe Fields and CA3 getting their timing going .Mahomes connected with Worthy a couple times .I mean .I think they should explore that more than they do
Listen You know why the running game looks better when other backs are On the field is because they take the safety out of the box they run into ladder boxes also your two change of pace backs are Zone Beck's they can run that style a lot better you notice the line play better when they simplify things and run a power pulling concept double blocks pushing your man out the way that's what you're running back is good at but they refused to do that we seen it last year and it's frustrating because everybody wants to blame Najee but you know what he's good at and that's power run schemes even if you have Cordell Patterson and Warren they're not going to make that much difference because when you're running zone you have to pass your man to the next man that have to communicate with a line with a lot of young players and backup players that's going to be a problem you know what you're good at and that's power you try this last year and you're not good at this your line coach sucks he's not developing your players this is a problem no matter what back that you have back there when they have majority of the Snaps are not going to be successful
The injuries on the O-line are just ridiculous at this point. I see their effort and they still kept on it. This was just yet another weird Steelers loss. The only thing missing were a missed Boz FG and an ill-timed Shanked punt.
In crucial moments, we made stupid mistakes, and the defense didnt play well the first half. Patrick queen didnt have a good game, also watt was doubled and herbig didnt seal the edge like highsmith. Combined overall, could of been much worst, but the fight was their at the end, came up on the losing end of a highly penalized and road loss that felt like a trap game to me.
The game was nowhere as close as the score indicated. Najee was non existent, O-Line was not in sync regardless of injuries, oh and not to mention that we still need a number 2 receiver. Plus the defense looked like they were either still partying from last week or looking to next week's game.
When the defense stacks the box on first down and the cb is 8 yards of l.o.s.... you have to throw that ball to George! This oline is not good enough to run when the defense knows your going to run.
The Steelers made many mistakes. Players missed opportunities, coaches didn’t make adjustments until too late, but if we are going to criticize the players and coaches it would be hypocritical and a massive double standard to give the officials a free pass. The referees decided the game as much as anyone else. Even the TV ref acknowledged the Minkah hit was a bad call, that gave the Colts a free touchdown. Also blatant holds on TJ Watt on the Flacco TD pass, and holds that we’re not in the category of TJ getting himself in a headlock. That gave the Colts a free TD. If you simply get just those two calls right the Steelers win this one by 11. Leave it to the officials to turn a Steeler blowout into a three point loss.
The offense can’t start that slow every week. Started off slow in the Falcons game, the Chargers game, now this game. Difference is the defense was elite in those games.
This was the worst I have seen the Steelers defense play in a long time. Despite some miscues, it was also the best I have seen a Steelers QB play in a long time.
Najee wasn’t healthy. His arm was in a sling this past week. But he was healthier than the rest of the guys and all we had left. He struggled in the run game early, some because the Colts stacked the box and the 1st down runs were predictable. Also Najee’s strength is getting the ball in space, he’s not the kind of guy to make multiple guys miss in the backfield.
