Good morning DK . I couldn't agree more , they don't need to be out there long, but they need to be out there some. Too many changes, and not much time to go in without some "in stadium " experience with your starters. Thanks for your hard work Here We Go Steelers!!!
The Texans also started their 1st team and were on their 2nd preseason game. The Steelers weren't ready for a team already acclimated to the game season
The team needs a meaningful preseason game in order to have more to go on. I agree DK. Make those adjustments now. Get them out there ! Thank you DK, Great show
Challenges in preseason are rare because the game outcome doesn’t really matter but with his track record I’m not willing to offer him that excuse, he probably wouldn’t have in a real game either.
Let me help you. Challenge means nothing. Example. If I know I'm going to win a challenge. Offence or defensive. But I want my offense or defensive to stay on the field because I see something I still need to work on. Why take the guys off the field?
It's preseason. Throw the challenge flag! That's part of the game too that needs to be practiced. Why not practice it when it's not going to do you more harm. You challenge that to let your offense continue the great drive they were having to see if they can score. Then you get to evaluate them a little longer before you pull them.
I would say that fans either are really not aware of how Tomlin doesnt use the challenge system in any sort of right way or they are just saying 'typical Tomlin'. It's really bizarre how Tomlin does challenges and why he has such poor results with challenges. Someone needs to tell Tomlin how this is supposed to work
Will this be the year they don’t start slow? Will this be the year they don’t pull a few “Mike Tomlin’s” and lose to teams they should beat? We will see.
I want to see as much 13 personnel as possible. The combo of Pickens, 'Muth, Washington, Heyward, & either RB would scare me infinitely more from a defensive perspective than swapping any of those guys out for any WR currently on the roster. If I was Arthur Smith, I wouldn't even install 10 personnel. Maybe just as a joke or something?
I think 2/3 Wilson's will be solid for them this year, Russ & Peyton. Roman needed camp to prove & practice playing outside. He may still get a chance just bc there's really no one who matters behind Pickens.
I couldn't agree with you more DK they need to have a heightened sense of urgency against buffalo and start the first half of the season with alot of wins if they want to make the big show.
why do the steelers keep drafting tackles to leave dan moore out there whiffing? over and over it will get Russell wilson blind sided/hurt and will make him start throwing checkdowns to stay healthy
Great Question! He's been the worst pass blocking OT in the entire league over the last 3 years. It's not like they're benching an aging Big Al, which they did way quicker than Moore, who's owed absolutely nothing from this franchise. Instead they're juggling their last two 1st round picks from side to side. It's insanity.
Idk that shi be pissing me off jones should be left fatanu right. Don’t mind Moore coming in as a swing tackle on run plays he’s decent run blocking but don’t him pass blocking lol
Moore isn't even the worst T in the division let alone the league. Remember Garrett? He has 1 sack vs Moore in 3yrs. Moore is middle of the road T. Troy is the one who wiffed on the block and allowed the sack. If anything, let him get his feet wet before handing him a starting job.
After watching and rewatching the game the biggest issue i saw was once again the Oline and Dline. Especially the oline. Over and over again I see the oline blowing assignments or not being able to do more than one simple thing at a time.

I have to say this everyday, but Tomlin is totally stupid. He does not know how to run a team. Dumblin will probably keep Frazer on the bench again unbelieabie how he got an extention just blows my mind!
Why are they drafting left tackles in the last 2 drafts if Dan Moore is always starting? Make it make sense. Why switch first round LT to RT in favor of Dan Moore who frankly isn’t very good
Why people keep throwing out this narrative that Wilson has missed all these practices ? If you count the off season and now ( combined) he has taken more 1st team reps than Fields.
Tomlin is famous for early season losses to teams that they should handily win. Ben would pull Steeler bacon from the fire late in the game routinely throughout the Season. I miss Ben.
I question Tomlin with some of his decisions. I agree with dk, he should play his best players at each position. I think it builds unit cohesion which is key. I just don’t think Tomlin takes it serious sometimes. He should have challenged that catch by van that would have been a first down but instead just stares at the replay. I know it’s preseason, but why not set the tone now
I have been saying this! Big Ben used to play with broken noses and legs. Why is Russ being treated like a princess? Is he a football player or not? I’m not a Tomlin hater or one of those fans but man.. why do they kick their own butts every season until 4 games in! Play the BEST PLAYER!

I agree with you. Tomlin's teams historic slow starts, are because they are playing to many games through training camp and not getting the starters ready to play. I think they need to play starters more in camp and preseason and let everyone else earn their way into the rotation.
Tomlin has always had a hard time with "earning your spot". Mason Rudolph deserved serious consideration over Trubisky. And it goes on, players who've done well on other teams and didn't get their shot here.

When has Tomlin done anything different? It's always the same approach and same outcome. Along with the standard is the standard, we didn't execute, i take responsibility, and we need to get better.

They did JF dirty having herbig out there Tomlin hasnt won a playoff game in how many seasons ,like come on mike give your guys the best opportunities to shin , even if its preseason this almost all new offense they definitely need time to gel.
Here is a simple truth as long as Tomlin is the HC. They will be woefully unprepared for the reg season. He is a players coach and not a field general. They will figure things out to a certain degree but expect mediocrity and sub par performance based on another talented team. It’s just the way it is with Tomlin.

It feels like the last 5 seasons this team is completely unprepared in the first half of games..They rarely play a full 60 minutes under a Tomlin coached football team.
If Tomlin doesn’t get religion and make sure this team gets off to a strong start then he can kiss goodbye to his non losing seasons. This is the one season where the Steelers better beat up on the teams they can beat up on. The second half of the Season will show them no mercy.
