Woaaaaaa. Now you give me ideas 😁. Is on my list since I was a kid and I was reading in books about EME. Maybe this coming summer I get to try this too. Good reminder, thank you. 73, YO6DXE
Almost yes. I have half of it written and I was working on the drawings and details. I will finish it once I get home as I will also make a new video as well since I am planning to build one more that weights less.
Should have a good bandwidth Ciprian. Good build. Looks as strong as a Tonna. There is no real worry about mounting arrangements , you have many mounting options.
Thanks Nigel. Indeed it really has a nice bandwidth. Way better than I was expecting if I would compare the SWR sweep to the graphics that were available in the article. Really happy about the way it turned out. Solid... ohh yes ))) We chat more tomorrow. Time to put the nephew to sleep hahaha. 73
This one had no Gama match and the SWR is amazing for both bands if the dimensions are as in the instructions. www.qsl.net/dk7zb/Duoband/4+5_2m-70cm.htm
That is great to hear. I want to use the one in the video at home... and build one more ( a light version ) for portable work. Have fun with the sattelites 😀😀 73.
Hi, please take me two doubts 😃: regarding the coil, please tell me the correct diameter and number of turns. I read 25mm and 5 turns. Is correct? The other doubt is the connection between elements and boom. Can the elements be in contact with boom (even with only one screw) or totally isolated. Thank you and really liked your video. Simple and efective. 73's
Hi Jose... yes the diameter of the coil is 25mm and 5 turns. And yes is ok if the elements are in contact with the boom. I was also confused on the same thing when I built it jajaja. 73
@@dxexplorer Thank you very much for your answer. Glad i was not the only with that doubt 😄. Seen dozens of photos and videos but there were the two versions. I am going to make my elements suport in 3d If you want i can send you the stl's for printing. 73's from CT1BRN.
@@joselobo8731 Thank you as well. I don't have a printer... but some plexiglass and a little patience got me some nice raisers haha. Just make sure that you keep the proper distance between the driven elements... the 1cm if I remember well. And it has to be 12mm in diameter. Is a must )). 73
I have to buy the 12mm tubes as well as I messed up as explained in the video and want to replace them to the proper length. Good luck building yours. 73, YO6DXE.
Hi Nikos. No my friend... I was crazy busy with work and working a little on my photography website / business. I have to make a loving as well ))) ... I come back to play with the toys in a little.
Very stable antenna! Bravo! I have heard that the baofeng has some problems like poor reception when it is connected to external antenna. Is that true? 73's
Cheaper ones as the Baofeng I don't know. I didn't search much either honestly... I was happy with what I have. What I want is not pleasant for my bank account )))
@@dxexplorer i like the icom 2730 or the kenwood tm-v71 but they are way too expensive! I may start with a baofeng as most people do. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing the antenna outside!
I have on my list a vintage Yaesu... let's maybe I will make my self a Christmas present. For now I'm happy with the little I have... is better than nothing ))) The antenna video at work... let's see maybe this weekend I will have time to film. I was busy cutting the wood getting ready for winter. I just got in the house a little ago dead tired lol. 73 buddy.
