The difference between the attack at the Capitol and these protest on college campuses, is that those who attacked and assaulted people at the Capitol, did so to those who they saw as directly responsible for a wrong committed against them. The opposite is true of these college protest. The colleges are not directly responsible for what was done to the people of Palestine, so why should/would they think, it is proper to make the colleges, they attend, the cite of their protest, just because they are invested directly or indirectly in Israel? Do they think their schools are the only entity they have an association with, that has investments in Israel? Have they checked where their parents investments are? Why not stage your protest at the local City Hall or State Capitol, or your Congressional representative's office? That is your direct link and best contact to those in Washington, who have a say, in how the U.S. Government responses to this problem.
If you are going to a school here in the US. What makes them think that they are having any effect on the people's in said country? They really need to let what happens outside the US, to said country.
Very few things actually remain exclusive to any one country. In the case of the universities, many of them have investment portfolios, international campuses, etc., in other countries. Many of the student protesters in the different universities are calling for divestment of university funds from Israel. This is not a small amount of money. Agree or disagree, if does make you think about how any of our money is spent.
