There are battered women who leave and go back to their partner for longer than 10 years. Some stay until the abuser starts in on a child. This video was triggering for me growing up in a household with an emotionally and physically abusive mother. Knowing teachers saw the bruises and welps on my arms and legs or my aunt having to go to the hospital with my brother and I. Yet not doing anything. I did leave home when I graduated at 17 and ended up writing a letter to my dad telling him and telling my aunt about herself. I realize that is different from Cassie's situation. However, abuse is abuse. Not everyone is able to get away before they are killed. Others who are lucky can get out. But it may take a while. You should never judge an individual in an abusive relationship.
