DH--I'm not sure whether I actually resonated with this or not, but I will proceed to explain how I feel. I do not want him to be afraid of me--we will need to work together and not against each other. I do probably get a rise out of him and I am not aware sometimes of my doing this--I don't understand why he gets so upset with me at times and it results in his hurting me or my feelings. I don't appreciate this as I tend to resent it but it doesn't last long for me. I tend to forgive and forget. The only way I react toward this is by backing off and allowing him to blow off steam and release the problem. I am willing to listen to him, but do not expect harshness and gruffness in handling the problems he encounters. I want him to know he can be himself around me and I expect the same from him. I am not concerned about what people think of this connection. I am very confident that people know who I am and what I am and I don't worry about what anyone thinks. If this bothers him, maybe we should back off and not think about coming together in this connection--but frankly it doesn't bother me.
