Man these Vergil combos were amazing. And it's crazy to see that you still have new ideas for Dante and Nero. I can't wait to see what you will do with DMC5. :D
"You shall---" (Judgment End) "Dieee!" (Rapid Slash) OMG how many "You shall-- Scum!" takes did you do before you get the quote right? Hahaha Anyway, this is truly a great combo video. Really admire your skill! Can't wait until DMC5 came out and you play it masterfully.
Why is that pin sticking on Dante's hand!? And He's using it to juggle with High Time/Straight!?? Everytime I watch Sakaki's videos I'm reminded of how little I know about DMC4.... This has to be the best combo MAD I've seen yet, crazy ideas and godly editing... All hail Sakaki OTL
A minor thing compared to the breath taking combos in these videos, but I gotta say that the various, colorful, and fantastical blood palace backgrounds really do go a long way in keeping the videos eye-catching. I especially love the ones that feature beautiful, otherworldly landscapes.
Probably the most entertaining Dante I’ve seen in DMC4. It was EXTREMELY refreshing and impressive to see some real combos like in DMC3 as opposed to like 75% jump cancelling. Very good video, albeit a little overedited (I love the effect with Lucifer at 1:25, though). すてきダンテですよ。
1:20 - Getting launched and then counter attacking as a way to launch the enemy is genius 6:45 - Reversed stinger finish to knock them back but you still follow it up? Holy moly, what a great video
That was actually a ecstasy glitch he activated by cancelling ecstasy via landing on the ground just prior to this. The leap attack by the assault after the swipe attack (that sent Dante flying) was interrupted by the rose on Dante's mouth and Dante followed up with the rest of the combo.
Frigidmoon Huh thanks for the clarification. I don't play Dante as much so it's hard for me to tell what exactly triggered it. I just assumed that he stuck a pin somewhere earlier in the combo and managed to precisely time the explosion.
Also, that's not a stinger, it's million stab's finishing stab. Basically, he used the million stab "relock" glitch, which allows the finishing stab of the million stab to face the enemy again (which is technically actually behind Dante in this delicate position even though it doesn't look like it, so this is not a reverse) instead of inheriting million stab's direction like it normally does. It looked like a stinger because the enemy actually dragged Dante along with him because he is overlapping with Dante's hitbox. I believe this is the first instance the million stab redirection is used in a combo (even though it was discovered a few years prior to this). The splash ecstasy glitch that allows the lucifer swords to stay on Dante's hands (1:33 and 7:42) is also the first time it's used in a combo I believe (I've never even seen that glitch before).
I have always been a combo mad person but we get to playable characters that seem to be missing in all these new multi character combo videos. I can understand people thinking lady is very one dimensional but at a bare minimum why is Trish getting left out so much?
These combos are so mad dude, you really got skill. Not gonna lie, I was trying to figure out of all of this is possible to do without like any sort of modding. Although I do like the color you gave the trio.
I'm not sure what you meant by that but just so you know, he only modded the appearance, everything in this video is possible without any modification to the game.
As good as it gets, right here. Appreciate your work buddy. My favorite has to be 1:19 simply because i have never seen someone use getting hit as part of a combo, and i've seen alot of combo mads.
HuangRSfly and TurtleSensei used it before as well, to use damaged animation to reverse a backslide. I believe Genova also did a double suicide with Climax as well. There are a number more but I cannot recall. The highlight of this combo is not actually getting hit, but how Dante was in a juggled state but hit Assault due to the landing Lucifer Glitch he activated just a bit earlier. There are two more combos I want to mention that you probably missed many details (and I consider to be better than that combo) and they are: 1. The combo in 1:27. After a reversed Air trick (This is how to reverse attacks just in case you didn't know ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lcR7B9-L2Zw.html), he was extremely low air, and he used a splash. Due to how low his splash is, Dante lands before the last 2 pins are finished. The moment he lands, Ecstasy is used, and the glitch occurs: the last 2 pins appear on Dante's hands and follows them. After that he used high time, and after being launched, the lucifer pins touched the enemy to blast it away, the same time he used Ecstasy another time to relaunch the enemy after it lands and continued to finish the combo. This glitch is *HIGHLY inconsistent* and very difficult to execute, you can try this yourself if you don't believe me. 2. The combo in 6:45. You might be thinking it's million stab to stinger but it isn't. Generally, how million stabs work is, after million stab, the finishing stab without changing direction. Why am I saying this? Pay attention, you'll see that it's a finishing stab, not stinger. How? Because there's a glitch that allows Dante to redirect the finishing stab to the locked on enemy again by inputing high time input. This move is not reversible. If you look closely, during the million stab animation, the enemy is actually BEHIND Dante, so the finishing stab (using the redirection glitch) turns about to the enemy direction (which is behind Dante) and stabs it instead. But due to the hitbox colliding, the enemy drags Dante along with it, making it look like a stinger, when it is not. These combos are first time these techs are being used in a combo, afaik. There's also that Combo 7:35 that used the splash into ecstasy trick as well, and overall it's probably harder due to the difference things he did to adjust the timing of the whole thing (like the pinup into bondage). There are other combos with details like these as well in this video. The combo you mentioned does have interesting aspect of using the lucifer cancel glitch too though, where he used landing lucifer cancel, which is much more difficult, especially in 120 fps. Sorry if you already know about this.
Hi Frigidmoon, i appreciate your reply but im not reading all that shit on a comment section of a video on youtube. Goddamn man you got carried away. Lmao.
You might think I'm carried away, but I've just stated the exact details that led to these combo to work. And they're FAR more complicated than you think, and most of them tries to tackle a concept that is original. Sad that you're missing out.
if you took all other players who ever played dmc4 and put them into a pot and cooked them for 5 hours then sakaki would be the skycraper next to the house the pot is in
I am quite a bit his1nightmare fan up to this date, but regardless of anything, sakaki is simply millions of times better. If all other dmc4 players combined were a 9, and god was a 14, then sakaki would be a 1999999. On top of everything, every other player, including well known guys like donguri, copied his1nightmare to some extent, as he laid the groundwork very early and introduced an idiotic amount of tricks. But sakaki's style has absolutely no resemblance to his. Sakaki is unique to a point where it's almost laughable. I am in love with his shit.
Fine, I didn't know such a player existed. What your upload shows is a TA clip. By that logic uploading a non-TA clip magically proves everything is legit. I said trillions of times I don't even pretend I even believe he did not cheat, in fact I am sure he did in some of his DMC4 uploads, but your video alone proves literally nothing. And the fact that you have absolutely nothing better to do than harassing anyone who disagrees on sight just tells me that he's living rentfree in your head.
The biggest highlights in this combo video are actually Dante's (ofc the Nero/Vergil combos are still very high quality). www.reddit.com/r/DevilMayCry/comments/8xy9z1/indepth_analysis_of_some_cool_combos_and_their/
@@SoysauceML What I meant is donguri is very good at dante that he beats bloody Palace mode with little no damage with style.... But when he plays vergil the combo seems to be bland and simple for its standard
And what I meant is that you're suggesting that Donguri's Dante is better than Sakaki's like a fact, when that's purely subjective, and a lot of people (including veterans) would argue otherwise, considering Sakaki's Dante have done much more technical/complicated feats (in combo videos and credo fights) and incorporates spacing and hitbox manipulation much more so than Donguri (especially with use of reverse attacks). Dante is definitely Sakaki's best character.
@@SoysauceML now I see...... As good donguri will.... There's some people that will push donguri playstyle to whole new level.. But in my taste... Donguri is the reason why I always play bloody Palace so I can stylish... While sakaki inspired me to sick combos.. I guess everyone else and me also vote for donguri mainly because his popularity...
Not everything is donguri style, and Donguri certainly didn't invent skyrunning. People like 2bepower are really good at skyrunning as well. Sakaki is actually one of the most original players, with one the most unique styles in the scene especially when it comes to interacting with enemy movements. Some aspects in his use of Lucifer originated from Taka though (then again, most people are probably inspired by Taka when it comes to that).
While the combos for all these characters are highly creative and original (as well as deceptively technical), Dante stood out the most, followed by Vergil. Judging your post, I'm inclined to say that you didn't understand the video very much (as they are... pretty hard to understand). www.reddit.com/r/DevilMayCry/comments/8xy9z1/indepth_analysis_of_some_cool_combos_and_their/ I'm guessing you think Donguri is best only because he does skyrunning a lot (Skystar -> O (hold) -> switch RG -> X -> XO -> XO). Sakaki did guardflying in this video as well, just very subtle (and precise), as skyrunning/guardflying offers little substance more than movement and looking cool, but combo videos focuses a lot more on structure and intention of the combos compared to freestyling (such as tackling new ideas, structures, exploiting glitches not used before). Comparing these kinds of players are kind of a mistake to begin with, not to mention there are other freestylers on Donguri's level (such as DK and ChaserTech). Donguri probably does have the best Dante vs Dark Dante though. But Sakaki has probably the best Dante vs. Credo. In both Japanese and Chinese scene, many people consider Sakaki to be the best player, because they're a very combo focused community.
