I'm glad there's finally a score of this (I had to go to difficult lengths to loan the score ~5 years ago). This work deserves to be known more, as well as his 2nd piano concerto. Beautiful pieces of music.

Thank you for uploading this - It's an amazing concerto and I hope more artists champion it in the future. I agree with others that this isn't the best recording - the soloist is clinical and careless with the music, and that's a shame. If anyone's discovering this piece for the first time, I suggest Michael Korstick's recording!

Kabalevsky - my favorite, beautiful music. Solist doesn't feel the music.

Perhaos curious remarks...the lyrical meandering contours of the main thematic group in movement one reminded me of ...Ned Rorem's music! I like the pianist's sensitive touch...he..she?? has an affinity fir this Concerto 😊

I guess I would have to disagree with the others that indicate the soloist doesn't "feel" the music. My layman interpretation (such as it is) found the interpretation highly enjoyable. If there are subtleties of interpretation, I have missed them. I would highly recommend that this recording be listened to and enjoyed on its own. Thank you for posting.

I would have to agree with the other comments - the pianist (for me) lacks fire in the more active sections. I will add that I know this work and the composer well so maybe it's that.
