40-year old Dmitry Volegov has been certified on the Captains of Crush No. 3.5 gripper. Volegov is 6’ 2”, 230-lb. and he has 28 years of MMA experience.
A veteran IronMind referee-and no mean gripster himself-called it, “One of the biggest ‘No Brainers’ on a Certification I have seen yet. No question,” as Dmitry Volegov (Russia) put on a picture-perfect performance to demonstrate his mastery of the Captains of Crush (CoC) No. 3.5 gripper and thereby earning his certification.

I don't see an option to send an e-mail on the website. So I'll try it here. With the “GD Iron 90” model I close 112 LB once (with extension), I cannot close the 141 LB. But the "COC No. 1" with 140 LB I can close. Although developed by the same company, the resistors are very different. Why is that? I look forward to an answer. I only started training with the Gripper a few weeks ago. I am 72 years old.

They are not the same resistance. Look up Cannon Powerworks for RGC ratings.

1. GD Iron 90 and Captains of Crush are not made by the same company. GD is Korean and CoC is American. 2. Manufacturer's rating is meaningless if you try to compare diffirent grippers. In short, 141 lbs on GD Iron 90 is a little heavier than an avarage CoC #2. Search for the RGC rating if you're interested. Additionally, the distance between the handles and the handle thickness play a role; therefore, even grippers with the same RGC rating can feel different when closing.
