You can’t keep a good pedal down - keep your Classics spinning by treating them to a service. Al Vines shows you when you need to pay your pedals some attention and how. Original V8 bearings - www.dmrbikes.com/Catalogue/Pe...
nice vid, helped me in a 'different' way pulled apart 1 of my pedals (wobbling on the spindle) ---- that was before watching this vid .. cleaned the bits, went to put it back together --- that's when searched & found this. what I discovered (as in didn't find) was any bearings (no balls at all ... no didn't lose them, there were none!) ... guess I neglected the pedals a bit too long and the balls ran away ... LOL. Anyway, if it wasn't for this vid would have put them back together (still without any balls) and wondered why the pedals were either still wobbling or too tight (yeah I tried) ... so thanks for this vid. (Oh, and easiest action: buy a new pair, probably V12's, and maybe (in my dreams anyway) a bit more regular TLC. ... Consumerism rules! But at least I know something I didn't before.
Hi, thanks for the question. There is no option to swap the cup and cone loose bearings for a sealed bearing. The bearings are fully serviceable and as long as the pedals aren't ridden loose and you service them every now and then, they will repay you with a long service life. Hope you get them spinning nicely again, but if you need any assistance please get in touch.
