DMT Trip Carrier Wave and Breakthrough Sound

This was my humble attempt at trying to give people an idea of what a DMT trip sounds like. This is obviously an impossible task but I think I came pretty close to scratching the surface of the sounds I hear.
The first 15 or so seconds of the audio is the Carrier Wave that you hear while holding in the smoke as the DMT starts to come on. It starts out as a very low volume ringing and grows to an unimaginable intensity before you breakthrough which is a glorious and indescribable mix of sound that I never in a million years would be able to produce. However, I tried to put in a few characteristic sounds that stand out the most to me such as: the electric crumpling sound that you hear as you are breaking through, the various clangs and banging sounds you hear in hyperspace, and the alien electronic sound that accompanies the crumpling that is impossible to reproduce with audio soft wear but I tried.
Also keep in mind that while on DMT, all the sounds that you hear in this video happen over the course of a few seconds and then you are gone. I greatly prolonged and drew out each sound in this video so you can get an idea of what it sounds like but when you are actually on DMT this all happens in seconds.

The initial "carrier wave" sound is too high pitched, but the actual breakthrough sounds just about right.

Thanks a bunch man! And I totally agree. I just am not skilled enough to accurately replicate that sound with the audio tools I have available. I'm really sorry about that. I'm sure a more talented audio mixer would absolutely shit on my attempt but it was my actual first try mixing audio before I even attempted producing music or actual songs. I would LOVE to have another go at this now where I have 3 or so extra years experience under my belt. Thanks so much for watching though. I really appreciate it!

I've never tried DMT however what you've got that was frighteningly similar to what I experience during a medical condition I suffer from called “sleep paralysis”. It's what I hear right before everything starts to vibrate intensely right before I split out of my body and fall off my bed, except I don't hit the floor, I end up going right through it and float around under the foundation of the house where I see plumbing pipes, electrical wires and ducted heating pipes and then I slowly come back up in and out of the walls and hover around my bedroom. And when I decide I've had enough I try and force myself to wake up. However once I awaken the sound I was hearing fades into the slight hum that continues in my ears when there is complete silence. It made me realize that our physical bodies perceive that sound as a subtle humming you hear that makes you wonder whether you're suffering from tinnitus, when in fact when in astral world you are in fact inside that hum which is the sound of all the energy and frequencies created by the vibration of atoms and molecules that are currently taking place around you whicch your physical body is oblivious to except for that slight humming in the backdrop.

Kano Grund maaaaan. I've been meditating *heavily* the last few months and the other day fell asleep while practicing with a pineal activating audio that actually works. Woke up hearing this, walls seemed to vibrate, sharp pang in middle of skull. Trees through window looked orange at 4am... Freaked out, took headphones off. Still puzzled.

this is ridiculously close... made my hair stand up... For the earlier comments,Dmt is nothing like psilocybin, or lsd. If they were music, lsd and mushrooms would be John mayer, Dmt is more like Metallica for the first 30 seconds, then classical piano the next 2min

+bjjpract Haha I really like your music analogy. If I had to do a musical comparison between Lsd/Shroom and DMT, I would first say imagine you have never heard anyone play an instrument before and don't really know what music is. In this analogy, music would mean tripping, so never having heard music before means you have never tripped before. So lets say you do some LSD or take some Shrooms. Musically, that would be the equivalent of hearing a single musician playing a song on lets say a violin or a a piano. If you have never heard music before, you would absolutely be in awe of these sounds coming from an instrument and think it was very beautiful BUT after a few times of listening to that instrument play ( a few times tripping on LSD or Shrooms) you will start to wrap your head around all of the possibilities of that particular instrument, you would recognize all the sounds it is capable of making, and you may even start to get used to the sounds of that instrument and it would lose the initial "wonder" that captured your attention in the first place. NOW, lets say that same person who has only ever heard ONE instrument playing at a time before went and smoked some DMT. This would be the equivalent of the person who has only ever heard one instrument suddenly finding themselves in an enormous concert hall where an ENTIRE symphony orchestra is playing. The person would literally experience a complete sensory overload with all the foreign/alien sounds and sights and sounds of these HUNDREDS of new instruments that they had never ever heard of playing all together in harmony all at once. It would literally be almost too much to wrap their heads around. That is about what it is like moving from LSD to DMT if we are doing a musical analogy in my opinion.

I'm always looking for ways to describe my DMT experiences better so I really liked where you were going with that because I am a musician so a musical analogy really allowed me to almost explain it better then I would have by just trying to describe the experience itself comparing to LSD or Shrooms. (And a little secret between you and me, after I read your comment and right after I finished typing my reply with the orchestra analogy, some burning desire to suddenly try it again right then and there came over me. Literally 5 minutes after I responded to your comment at 10:19 PM, I was holding the bag that I hadn't touched for over a year, shaking with the anticipation and excitement that always comes over me beforehand and a few minutes later I was back home again...:) It was absolutely mind blowing as always and reaffirmed my belief that there is nothing more fantastic out there in life and more alien and mysterious then DMT. It lasted about 25 minutes from what I could gather and I won't even begin to try to describe what I went through and saw as it would just be doing DMT a disservice trying to put the experience into words. But I also got a whole bunch of new ideas for who to go about doing this video again and how to greatly improve the sounds to make it more true to the actual experience. I feel like every time you do it you would be able to make a better video but at the same time, you still would never get close to the actual noises you hear and it would be utterly impossible with the technology we have unless someone threw some SERIOUS money into it for just that purpose such as for a big budget movie or something where they would need it to be as realistic as possible. Since you seem to have some experience of your own I would like to hear what you think of my suggestions if you ever get the time for improving this video if I were to go back and try it again. If I was going to make this video again, I would defiantly make the ringing that you hear in your ears less sharp then it is in this video, and have it come on more choppily and organic sounding if that makes any sense. Seriously the buzz that I heard this time from the carrier wave coming on sounded a bit like that high pitched sound but almost like it was being played through surround sound that was located behind a pair of helicopter blades that didn't make the normal loud helicopter sound but distorted the ringing so that it came on in waves. Almost like if you were listening to someone playing that ringing through a fan but also with a very plant like quality such as leaves rustling and breeze blowing at the same time. It is utterly impossible to describe because it is such an almost metallic/machine like/alien ringing sound but at the same time it sounds very natural, never too loud, and almost like a sound you would hear if you were standing in the middle of a rainforest but without all the insect noise. For the actual breakthrough the metallic buzzing and ringing still sounds about as close as I will get to reproducing the breakthrough hum without inventing new instruments and audio recording technology but what I WOULD do is add a few more sounds into the video I have uploaded. After the first few seconds of the breakthrough I would start to layer in sounds almost like a sound a computer makes when it is struggling to load something. You know that kind of chocked up buzzing sound you hear? But distorted and more metallic sounding. Then I would take ambient sounds from a forest and layer them in also through heavy distortion. The ambient wind sounds and birds chirping would be the main thing I would be looking for in that because one of the main sounds I kept hearing this time was this almost chirpy whistling sound. The only thing that I could come close to relating it to would be a bird singing a song but through heavy metallic sounding distortion but also it would sound like it is being carried by the wind from a distance away and not something right there. Last, I would take ambient sounds from people laughing and conversing from maybe a beach or park setting or something. I would duplicate the voice track and with one of them I would raise the pitch so it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks and with the other track I would lower the pitch so it sounds like deep vocals in slow motion and play them at the same time layered together through a dream filter that adds a ton of delay and reverb as well as looping the end of the sound like an echo you would hear in a cave. Jesus Christ man I'm really sorry for the MASSIVE wall of text. I had no idea how much of a tangent I went off on typing that. I get really passionate about describing my experiences with this wonderful chemical if you can't tell. A lot of work and trial and error, plus I spent awhile recording some of my own sound effects and tweaking them. It would probably sound really different if I started from scratch again honestly! Thanks for the kind words man!

i just had my first dmt breakthrough and first time use also. It was insane i had moments of not feeling having a body no sense of pressure on my body or the senses, its almost impossible to describe with words, i also heartd like male voices saying something in an unknown language in a rythmic pattern like a ritualistic chant, that was combined with aztec golden metalic patterns and it seemed very much how i feel about those stories of them sacrifing people to their gods, iuts like those aztec gods were trying to communicate, but it was more like a radio channel for a short time, since i had many different signals with different patterns and feelings to them and sounds, it was like switching radio frequencies on the radio, first i focused on not thinking the less i was thinking the stronger the signal i was homing onto and it intensified then BOOM and i took off in autopilot, its like someone has taken control of my eyes i just remmeber my eyes were tearing while closed like i cried, and were raging really fast like picing off alot of visual information and i felt no thought no body except a numbing pressuring sound in my ears or more like my brain, like my brain was swolling up and almost exploding from pressure. i also had an egyptian themed frequency with golden and ocean blue colors and structures, with different voices whispering short unknown words with an echo, it felt like in a void an endless empty room with people whispering, but couldnt understand, and i rememebr very clearly a blue circle with blue surface and golden metal structures around it as decoration and a golden or black ( i dont remember) symbol within it in the middle like a letter or sign, i remember it clearly, it looked like the Psi letter in greek but the sichel form was more on top and more like a sichel moon, i dont speak greek and i thought i have never seen it before but it looked familiar, i just know it looked similar to it. NO WAY that was just my brain, it felt so reminiscent of switching frequencies on radio to different channels, but with your brain to different frequencies of this psychic dimension realities or something, its like being on a channel and they try to put ads into your brain for the short time they have of your attention, absolutely bizarre experience, i will focus on that more in my life, never have i seen such beaty and strange feeling of being in a real world, it gave me back curiosity about the world. I thought i was born too late to explore earth, too early to explore space, but no one is ever too early nor too late to explore the universe within us all. anyone reading this, try dmt atleast once in your lifetime.

Same thing happened to me only I wasn't trying to astral project, it happens completely randomly. I heard alien languages and my body felt like it was on jet fuel. Scary but fun.

Is it only me who doesn't hear that high pitch sound? When ever I smoke all sound disappears before I breakthrough. So one day I was thinking, "Maybe if I smoke more maybe I would hear that rising pitch sound". So I tried to smoke 3 times more. Holy shit, I shouldn't do that. When I broke through, the crystal sharp world became more intense, but not sharper, just more intense. I was thinking, shit this is way to much. And the world dissolved into light flashes while it became even more intense. And after that I lost completely my access to my memories and my short time memory. It was like I could only remember what happened 2 seconds ago. I didn't know what happened, why I was there, how I got there, where I was going or how long this would last. I didn't know who I was or anything. I don't know how long I was in that state, and I was alone when I did it. But after some time I gradually got access to my long term memory, I tried for some time to collect small peaces of who I am. Somewhere deep inside me I knew but I couldn't get access to that information. I was having a felling "what happened, what did I do, who am I", this feeling was looping over and over again, and I got small pieces at a time until I finally got as much so I could remember everything again. Scary as fuck. But when I take lower doses I can see different worlds and entities, but with that huge dose, you don't see this - or just a few seconds in the beginning, but the worlds breaks or dissolves into light flashes in a complete darkness and you lose the access to your long and short term memory. Be fucking careful!

Something similar happened to me but with huge bong rips. It startet as a tickling sensation in all my body like these continous waves and zaps of elrctricity and soon after it felt like hell. Like beign stuck there and not remembering anything, i didn't recognise my friends, nor remember who i was and why i was in that state. It felt like i knew i did something that i shouldn't do that got me in that state but couldn't remember what it was. Then as you did I started to recollect pieces of my memories and i eventually got it back, even if still was super anxious and had difficulty doing things since my attention span shifted towards that panicky feeling. Them temporal lobes go nuts sometimes

Yeah man haha once it stopped I could just hear my breath (which I couldn’t recognize as my breath). Sounded like this metallic swinging sound too. All sounds just disappeared and I was literally in a nowhere. Unluckily I don’t remember a lot of that moment, just the come back when I opened my eyes.

@@QueenKelleyz Exactly! The first probably 30 seconds were absolute hell for me (that’s why I haven’t repeated it until now although I loved the effect after “waking up”). I never in my life had such a strong panic of losing control. Got so lightheaded, my eyes were twitching in highspeed and I instantly fell back, thinking that was to much and than it all went so fast that i can’t even tell which emotion came when. I am still curious to know if I was knocked out at the peak, but I think the nowhere was just the place where this stuff took me 😁

The knocking sounds are always one of the defining characteristics of my DMT trips. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've freaked out because the knocking sounds always make me think someone walked into the room. Even when I know I'm at home alone, II'll still hear doors opening and people in the background talking.

From Peter Kingsley - It would be so simple to dismiss as totally insignificant the fact that this piping, whistling, hissing noise is the only sound Parmenides associates with his journey to another world-except for one small matter. When it starts waking up it makes a hissing sound.

Nailed it mate. I'm doing a sonic recreation of a DMT experience myself for a university project. One thought that has occurred to me is whether we all hear the same carrier wave. It sounds like you've used a sine wave for yours. The one I heard when I did DMT (I didn't break through) was a chord as opposed to a single note rising in pitch.

same thing happened to me last night. woke up and tried to go back into the dream i was having in attempt to lucid dream and once i did it felt like i shot to lightspeed and could see so many colours and patterns aswell as that breakthrough noise from the video in my ears. could still feel my body in the real world hyperventilating and my arms above my head paralyzed. ive only done dmt once and it was nowhere near as vivid.

Although the sound is pretty close, when you get a proper breakthrough dose all of your sensory information like feeling, seeing and hearing are so intertwined that you just can't replicate it using audio and video, you start to feel the sound, you hear what you see and you can taste what you can see.

Goldkalb never had any hardcore drugs, ive only smoked weed. Ive obly had two experiences with weed that made me go blind with tv fuzz and geometrical shapes and loud ringing in my ears, and these sounds gave me a feeling that a state i was in felt familiar.

Listen to shpongle's song titled DMT, he has nailed it, every bit! Once shroomed at his concert in dallas while he played the song. Once we replicate the afterlife here, we move on! Clear your mind and arrange your thoughts before you trip, always. DMT is an inter dimensional doorway tool. if used properly it can be a guiding force in your greatest desires. yes first sound is too high of a pitch but right now how it builds up, then the breakthrough sound has a rhythm to it that you obviously can't mimic here... But suuuper close as far as the sounds themselves are...

Maybe i don't have light tinnitus. But just rather sensitive to the carrier wave from the natural Dmt in my brain. Good work with this really because as you say, catching psychedelic experience in video format with computer made audio is beyond impossible. Cheers 💌🤫

0:34 I'm 100% sure that was the "snake" with weird eyes. It was literally centimetres from "me" in my last trip, agressive, thought it was going to eat me, but was really just judging me, in a completely white (whiter than white) room that changed form and size wherever I looked. I tried opening my eyes, only to realise they were already open. I started crying, not because of sadness, not because of fear, I just started to cry, these tears carried on melting me, it didn't hurt, but I felt that my time had come. When I finished melting I came back to earth, to my room. The sound you made brought me back a lot from that trip, very close to what I was hearing, almost unbearable, great job, haha!

I'm starting to get really intrigued, because there have been around 3 or 4 people now who have commented on my video saying that they managed to get to a similar state where they have heard the same sounds without taking any drugs whatsoever. If I remember correctly, 2 of the people claimed that they managed to get there from meditation, and the other said lucid dreaming. Can you give me a in a nutshell idea of how Wim Hof breathing works, and how it elevates your state of mind to the point where it mimics psychedelic drugs? I am seriously fascinated now, and want to look into that breathing style!

I am hearing this frequency before I am about to enter a lucid dreaming state. It comes along with a strong tingle inside my head, which sometimes is so intense, that i have to "cancel" it and force myself to wakeup. When I am able to allow it, I find my consciousness leaving my body and i will enter a lucid dreaming world. Can anyone relate?

tankmaster1018 I did the sandwich method with my bong and I was just shy of the amount of a breakthrough but It was a perfect amount for a first time I did it in the park and the bushes felt like they were morphing into a dragon and my vision was like looking through a static tv but reality was in the other side I ripped again and the sound from the video started happening and I was very confused and mind blown felt like my body was being ripped open and my spirit left my body and shot up to space I closed my eyes and I can’t describe thst part at all and then boom back to reality it was like all the tabs and shrooms I’ve taken but they hit at once by far most powerful experience from the DMT

I'm so mad at myself because last time I tried, i could hear it getting louder and trying to take off, but I found I could distract myself from taking off and just stay with my pleasant visuals lol. It tried to revibrate twice but I wouldn't let it. It's just so intense. They say some people dont totally break through til about the 4 time.

DMT IS created to force hypothalamus to work in theta frequencies. Mostly during sleep paralysis episodes or seconds before the end of your physical cycle in this dimension. In this cases you always hear the buzzing noise - specific electromagnetic frequency. Its the simmilar principle like old dial UP modem which tried to connect to the net created only for transfer of sound, not visual data. Your physical brain also wasnt created for joining to other dimensions or interdimensional space, thats it

I have minor tinnitus keep in mind but I sometimes have extremely vivid dreams and I hear a similar noise that rings so loudly I wake up and still hear the ringing. It’s very different to the tinnitus ringing and not quite this ringing

i had the "frighenting pleasure" to do a shaman led ayahuasca ceremony on a beach at night this year. during my research after that, i stumbled across this term CARRIER WAVE which reminds me of the sound i heard when entering this apparent other dimension. the sound of the waves near the beach transformed into one single noise, loud, "spheric and astral", like one distant huge wave intensified by echo and wind. unfortunately i dont know how to create digital sounds in order to reproduce this, but i'd love to share this with you one day

If you think about it laterally DMT isn't that big of a deal......all those fractals patterns etc that you see are just the machinations of your mind. DMT makes you aware of the recursive nature of your underlying thought processes from which your consciousness emerges.

I remember sounds very similar to this during the first roughly 10 minutes of my first 40 minute long experience (yes longer than most people experience) Listening to this sent constant shivers throughout my entire body during the entire length of the video

I've had some of my DMT experiences last well over 30 minutes. That is totally believable. It probably means you just had the real deal a few times and got really pure DMT. Because DMT at over a 75% purity can send you to the god damn moon for up to 45 minutes sometimes. Thanks for watching!

That high pitch, especially right athe the peaks is exactly the frequency my tinnitus rings at. There's also a layer of humming to it that sounds similar to the frequency of an Aum chant. I can't hear that hum right now though, because I have explosive head syndrome, and for about half a second, the volume of that hum was turned up to 11 and then it went away completely. Wondering if it'll come back. I've been hearing both as far back as I can remember. According to my parents, I've never had any ear infections, and in general they've never taken me to nay loud events that could result is hearing loss. My hearing itself is actually really sensitive in general.

I have visual snow syndrome, I constantly hear ringing in my ears. When I tried DMT what I heard was a very loud turbine engine winding up, I also heard an old school windows error sound melody as it began.

Yep, accurate! Mushrooms as well have that kind of electric-metallic swinging sound, just not the whistling noice, that is very special from DMT. I feel like it’s the sound of swinging energies that we can normally not hear. There are so many inaccurate sounds in videos here on YT if you ask me, this one is the closest I found so far. When I got to the peak, all sounds disappeared suddenly, only my breath was there still. But didn’t sound like my breath, sounded like that electric metallic sound as well. Don’t know if I was knocked out, don’t remember much after that and it was just dark for a moment. The next I can really remember is the moment I woke up and felt like I came back from somewhere else.

Extremely accurate. speaking for myself of course. thank you so ever loving much for this video. i can't say i experienced much of this high pitched stuff. atleast, not As high pitched. but those sort of, background popping noises during the middle of the video, that like the thing that sounds like wacking a peice of trash or wood with a stick, those were spot on. as for the others, i had some sort of noise i cant describe. i got a lot of that same resonance echoing thing from it. the other noises ive heard... were something like, you know that whistling noise you hear from cartoons, when a bomb is dropping or something is falling or so. it sort of goes from this high volume to a short of swoosh. My noises acted in that same way, but werent so whistly. they were more like if you heard that whistly bomb in a tank full of water flying in an airplane. sorry if i rambled... its just so fucking hard to pinpoint... ANYWAYS. kudos. Absolutely amazing sir. you should definitely continue making these constructs of sound. As they are part of one of humanitys only attempts to make known the unknown. Take it easy.

Had my first experience the other week I experienced basically this exact sound there were these glowing orange ancient entities rotating around me I was in the Centre and they where creating complex Geometry in the background while this crazy energy or heat was following through the the middle of my head through my body was so intense but I wish to return very soon almost felt like I’ve been there in the past. Key things to remember is close your eyes and let go focus on your breathing and let go, letting your ego fight will only lead to a bad experience

Hey have you made any new carrier wave soundscapes? Please upload one. I’m using this in an experiment using meditation and a mix of other chemistry along with staring into DMT visual art at intervals mixed with periods of dark room closed eye meditation. Ive been hitting this clip of yours on repeat, each time a carefully adjusting the volume until I hit the perfect setting(fairly loud) and boy I’ve been getting these intense rushes of breathlessness and euphoria. It’s like at some point the sound wave like shocks my system causing me to catch my breath as if I had just jumped into a lake . The visuals pop out with intensity and complexity. The brightness Varies with fluctuations of bright light flowing through the 3dimensional imagery which is fast moving animated like in a way. Highly detailed with faces and eyes seemingly made of like porcelain or ceramic like material

I'm looking for people making these DMT sounds as I do when I breakthrough. The sounds of vibration that come from me when I breakthrough is amazing. It allows me to control and completely influence and communicate with my vision. I believe the sounds come from the heart and are similar to throat singing but I haven't heard these sounds before besides from myself. Most of them I can replicate without dmt but the main breakthrough sound that gives you full control of the vision I can only do breaking through.
