Rocky Balboa You can lift weights all your life and be a terrible fighter, being big doesn't matter in a fight, its all about knowing your opponent, in the video the small guy had to break the big guy's arm and kick more than punch cause the big dude had the physical advantage, granted it's a movie so they had to make the hero of the story win regardless, but a fight is more brain than brawn cause all it takes to win a fight is one lucky hit
backpocket philosopher winning the fight is what's important not the showmanship when it comes to practicality if you could put someone down in one punch then why wouldn't you do that?
backpocket philosopher no but it would be insanely unfair for the person in the lighter weight class to fight against a heavier weight class, much harder
Being stronger and bigger is always advantage. Sure it doesnt mean you are going to win every fight against smaller and weaker opponent, but if your martial skills are on the same level you are going to have hard time.
Semmy Schilt had more KO in his jab than most cruisers have in their career best IDGAF hooks. Most fuck huge guys in combat sports have dodgy backgrounds and suffer greatly because of that. Semmy was an exception to that rule and dominated K1 for years because of that difference. There is of course an upper limit to where the size of the fighter becomes a problem but this is in the realm of gigantism. Any huge man with normal endocrine system can be trained early on to beat the living shit out of any top fighter 3 or more weight classes down.
