As a lighting guy, the one to many setup is probably one of the biggest advantages of DMX. It is so nifty to beable to set an infinite*** number of lights to the same address and run them all as one big pixel

i'm using some addressable leds and the e1.31 protocol, without knowing anything on it but knowing it come from the DMX world. Then i found this very interesting video, i have learn a lot. thank you

Thanks for the great video! I have a LED panel that is controlled by RS485 but I want to convert it to DMX signal. Is there a way to do that? thank you!

Hello! I believe you're referring to vision.net and showNET . These aren't both necessarily a new protocol, I think showNET is blurring the line, setting a standard platform for device control interpreting multiple protocols. I believe that vision.net is another layer built on top of DMX512. It seems somewhat proprietary, but can add all sorts of features. (Room presence detection, daylight sensors, touchscreens, DMX512... ) Here's a document describing the software: www.strandlighting.com/b-dam/strand-lighting/products/vision-net-5-0/guides-and-manuals/Visionnet_4.5_System_Manual_0.pdf showNET is more focused on DMX, I believe it's a pseudo standard "mainboard" used for multi-interface lighting. It appears to allow for a device to interpret ArtNET, DMX, be independently controlled, or serve as a master, driving downstream shownet devices.
