@Analog Box Mods So I wired my board and it just does not fire right at all.when I fire at any wattage it just drops to like 5 watts and does not come back up,I use a 50amp battery with .4ohm kanthal build. When I solderd it it worked normally with the wattage dropping just for a sec but I resoldered it because it was messy and now there is a problem, I slightly scratched the black smt component under the “out” contact with my soldering iron.If anyone knows what to do pls reply
hey buddy. im wondering if id be able to use 20 gauge wire for the negative side on the 510 to the ground pad? in the manual it says you can use 20 gauge silicone insulated wire for the "output" which im assuming is the negative side of the 510.
If the datasheet claims 20AWG is fine then go for it! I've opened several commercial DNA mods and some of them were using 20AWG. Yes the 510 is the output.
Hi there! I want to build the same mod, actually buy it from you but with a few customizations. What i would like if possible: 1) 510 thread with copper inside pin 2) I don't want the magnets, i want it with scews, just like before you cut it. 3) Can i add a bigger fire button - switch? (will it fit?) 4) Can the battery terminal be replaced with 26650 instead of 18650? (will it fit?) I am asking if they fit in the Hammond 1590A enclosure only! Also, do you ship to Greece? Thank you very much
#1, I'm not sure what you mean... sorry, can you give me more info? #2 is no problem, if you choose the drilling machining option for the enclosure, just add in the comments that you want the screws instead of the magnets during checkout. #3 It won't fit in the 1590A enclosure :(, you'd have to go with the G enclosure to fit an external 12mm fire button with any DNA board. #4 Sure but not sure that will fit in the Hammond 1590A, I can check and get back to you, if not I have some Alpinetech A+ where a 26650 would fit. Eeek, the website won't allow shipping to greece, I can give you some shipping quotes but I know from experience that anything with tracking and insurance is really expensive overseas :(. Contact me via the website, this will be easier via email, analogboxmods.ca, there is a "contact us" link at the bottom.
The DNA 75 datasheet from Evolv says "If the DNA 75 is not being grounded through the mounting screws, the GND pad should connect to the negative side of the connector." I see you are doing both. Any reason?
The reason is... I had not though of it :). You are right, I could have saved myself a wire there (the GND wire connecting to the 510- ring). When using the brass standoffs like I did for this build which both touch the mounting screws and the enclosure, the enclosure itself becomes a common GND so the 510- ring is connected to GND via the enclosure.... huh, I'll probably try that on one of my next builds, thanks for mentioning that!
You just can buy magnets and glue them in both side make sure they are polarized right to stick together and you have your mount just look ebay they sell couple at fair price make sure they re enough big I tried once to do that and they were too small so I didnt bother to buy again I just screwed my mod and forgot it
I'm guessing the battery sags too much and is unable to deliver the required voltage under load to achieve the desired wattage. What wattage to you have set to? What is your coil resistance? Which battery are you using (brand/model)?
i have a big chunk of stabilized wood and really want to make a regulated squonk mod with the dna 75 chip. would i be able to basically follow your build with a squonk 510 and just some added space modifications for the bottle? its the wiring ive been having trouble finding videos and help with.
