Mt Rushmore hasn't added a face in 150+ years. Most people's favorite president is Obama and he isn't on Mt Rushmore. Rushmore is about the top four that built the foundation to what battle rap is today.
Pick a top 5 from each league, grindtime, kotd, rbe and url then the best 1 from each and that's your Mount Rushmore. Pat Stay, Loaded Lux, Hitman and Soul Khan for me.
It seems that people don’t understand what Mount Rushmore actually is and what it represents it is the “founding fathers of America” it cannot be changed it cannot have eras. People who laid the foundation for battle rap to reach the place it is at now. I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t understand what Mount Rushmore is
It shouldn't be compared to Mt Rushmore, it should be battle rap HOF. That way more people can get they respected flowers. So many battle rappers brought alot to the culture and the new era is doing so much at a faster rate because battle rap is at an higher level today! It's just the way that I feel about it.

People get it twisted what MT Rushmore means, it ain’t your “top 4”, it ain’t your favourites. It’s simple. The GOAT is the first name on that list, LUX has transcended era’s, he gave the culture Lion’s Den, which may of had a short run but look at the names it produced. AYE VERB was the spearhead of the mid-west movement and took the spotlight out of just NY. ARSONAL was for a long time the most viewed battle rapper and had his run with U Dubb. DIZASTER was the face of the west for a decade and his Canibus battle probably brought more people into Battlerap than any other single battle in history. Yet everyone wants to stick Mook in there without merit, someone who has done very little for the culture beyond dip in and out for years, not even the most valid for this conversation in Dot Mobb. Does the list evolve with time? Of course it does. Someone like Roc has carried URL on his back and has a incomparable resume, Geechi has dominated the game the past 4 years, there are people who if they continue the same trajectory will eclipse the names above, however at this point I can’t see past the 4 I named and my favourite’s list would be very different.
Respectfully, this is inaccurate. Being in the jersey area that Jae millz vs mook battle put everybody on the east coast on notice to battle rap. It was strictly freestyles at first we talked about in school from up and comers like reed dollaz, Joey jihad, and meek when he still had the cornrows. We knew one was going to make it so that was the talk daily. Then came reed dollaz k over the sholder I’m Rambo battle was buzzing. Philly started dissing each other for dominance but when you mentioned that mook battle EVERYBODY knew what you were talking about. People got hungry for more and smack dvd’s surfaced. I think for that reason you have to put mook in there.
IMHO Mt. Rushmore is the foundation..the sport wouldn’t be what it is without them…then there is the Hall of Fame..Hall of fame is can the story of the sport be told without mentioning these people!
@Up Jumps The Boogie I understand You and I don’t disagree…i definitely gave no number or limit to those who can be considered Mt. Rushmore..and obviously the HOF doesn’t have a limit. Again I agree with You. It’s nearly impossible to narrow the mountain to just a few people but it can be done..but imho several things would have to be taken into consideration…for example who started certain moves that have been replicated and copied by battlers through the yrs. For example Verb started the “special move” with showtime and its grown through battle rap..the point I’m trying to make overall is that some people can be in the HOF who can’t be on the mountain and that’s okay..it doesn’t make them any less great..
Anybody ever took a good look at the people on Mt. Rushmore they are the ones who actually cosigned slavery and a few other atrocities so why would you have a conversation about this
I think dna is not being mentioned in the Mount Rushmore , makes him want to change narrative about what it should be , so that his name is mentioned more

I don’t know what the hell DNA talking about. He just completely changed the landscape of the list. If that’s what he is going by Eazy and Verb should be on the list cause they are on television as well.
Forget Mt Rushmore, let's use the totem pole system. Lux, Mook, Verb, Arsonal, etc would be at the top, Geechi, Nitty, Roc, etc would be high middle and Gwitty, Hardly Clips, and Fake Jesus would be at the bottom.

Why tf we using “Mount Rushmore” to talk about the greatest? Those presidents were far from the greatest but they were impactful for their time. If we redid Rushmore JFK would be the only face there. Find a new way to describe it. Too 5,10,15 overall, then break down the sections. Impact, skill, etc

They were not the greatest presidents they impact is just solidified and if it’s 4 main You’d have to have Mook, Reed, Lux and the last not to many people gon agree with, but Cassidy. Rushmore makes no sense it’s just what bloggers talk about when there’s nothing to talk about. What’s the Rushmore of hip hop in total? Because in history rushmore was made when every president was dead or retired. So if we talk eras for battle rap then it would be based on impact. That would be clear. it makes no sense to make a list because you all just gone name east coast rappers. You mentioned Verb where is Cal? It's all subjective anyway. But the east coast don't have all the battle rappers
Man this will be on going debate 4eva! It's to many battle rappers to come up with something that's truly accurate somebody gone get left out that should be there, so just go with your own opinion & stand on it
Il tell you what, dont nobody know DNA or Verb outside of battle rap. And most people don't know majority of battle rappers outside of the old ones like mook and lux who got industry ties, and Charlie/Hitman/Con for wild n out. So take that outside of battle rap criteria off the list! Just say universal IN battle rap.
