I had a pair of Bass loafers in the 80’s I was so proud of them. I didn’t really have a lot of clothes but I chose carefully what I was allowed to have. (Levi’s, Oxford cloth button downs, anything Izod etc.). I was basically a prep.
I wore long leather coats and clogs in the ‘70’s and button downs and loafers in the ‘80’s I may have to revisit the loafers. I love the green for fall and I’m glad that maxi dresses and skirts are still in. Thanks for doing fall fashion recon for us! 😊
I am luvin' all the bright colors coming out: greens, yellow, orange, purple....... After pandemic, I want to wear high energy clothes!!! Wanna celebrate better times ahead!!! Green 💚 always been my favorite!! Time to celebrate!!
100% agreed with you on white tank tops with blazers, quilted bomber jackets and florar bomber jackets. I suppose street fashion is going to widely adopt these a mainstream trends. Hot pink is great idea too. This color is great for mature complexion.
Love maxi skirts and dresses. Also think bomber jacket and long duster coats are really cool. I don’t worry too much about what’s on trend. Whatever makes me feel cute 😊
I bought some loafers back in the Spring and love them. I've never owned a pair but think they elevate my jeans for a casual evening look. Normally I wear my cute tennies but the loafers step it up and are still really comfy.
This is excellent as I’m recovering from breast cancer & as I am 63 a full time nurse also retired military going into the next chapter in my life 🤗 I resell to ground me; I pride myself in fashion,,,,,this is great!
I love the loafers and the clogs..got the clogs last fall! They look great with straight and bootcut jeans. I had a bomber jacket in high-school and i remember the oversized button-down shirts, I think I still have one. Canadian tuxedo..all denim! I just don't like crossbody bags, they make my boobs look weird. My mom always said.."everything comes back"
Lol! “At that point, why are we even bothering with clothes?” Super fun and enlightening video. No to most items, but love your take on how to modify them for people over 50.
Been a loafers’ girl all my life even in my 60’s. Looking forward to see what’s out there. Love green- fav color! Jeans on jeans ok too. Love cutouts…. In the right place. All in all trends not as crazy! Thanks for doing the research for us! That’s the part I don’t care for at all. Haha all the best ❤️
Hi Angela..I agree with you on practically everything except the faux fur trend. I think it's fun but I also live in a cold climate. I'm so happy that green and hot pink are in. I love color too and think black, white and gray can really get boring after a while. Now if we can get the powers that be start to make cars in more interesting colors again besides mostly black, white, gray and an occasional red.
I went to high school in the mid to late seventies and I loved my clogs. I wore them with jeans that were either slightly flared or straight leg and they were full length. No cropped or ankle pants. I don’t even think cropped or ankle pants were even in style then. We just switched over to cutoffs in the summer and brought out the Dr. scholl wood sandals.
I got clogs last year, but I dress boho so it’s right up my alley! I like most of these trends and have recently added a bomber jacket. I think the most prominent footwear trend is cowboy boots , seeing them everywhere!
Oh yes, I have been seeing those cowboy boots everywhere. It's time to bring out my Justin cowboy boots I bought in the 90's. I never got rid of them because they still look good when the occasion comes up to wear western wear.
Yes Cowbot boots never out of style withnthis Texasn though I live in Guatemala doesnt look weird here thr nezt town over they make handmade cowboy boots custom fit Pastores . The entrance to the town has an 8 ft cowboy boot.
I’m 51, and I must be the outlet here. I’m looking forward to grungy looks… the cargo pants, dark autumnal colors and man-repeller looks, including the chunky loafers.
Ha! 64 here, and I never thought white tank tops went away either :) wait till you're 64 and men think you're invisible then you'll want them to look at you LOL
Thanks for this wonderful review Angela It’s so nice to know what’s coming up. I’m short and petite so have to be careful with proportions besides being over 60 Statement loafers and clogs will look clunky and make my legs look shorter. Yes to white tank tops for layering Right now I’m not crazy about the bomber jacket but I would try them on at least. I’m a fan of the sheer look for kimonos to wear over something, and long ones that look like a duster coat with a matching dress or pantsuit underneath and tops with sheer sleeves As a topper over underwear, no Hot pink for winter sounds great, no to extreme cutouts, yes to oversized button down shirts if moderately oversized and not too long, Yes to green, Yes to maxi skirts and dresses if not too much volume, No to fur accessories, No to baggy cargo pants, tapered pants are best for me, I don’t know about head to toe denim, I’d have to try it, No to top handle purses, prefer satchel or crossbody, No to duster length leather jackets. You’ve given me a lot to think about Angela. See you on the next one 👋😘
green has always been my favorite color. loved that green and pink dress. I liked all your suggestions for us over 50's. I like loafers and clogs and the purses, too :)
I adore my loafers that were made by Etienne Aigner. I’ve had them resoled as well. They’re very feminine, which is what I gravitate to. I have loads of friends that are fond of the lower cut duck shoes. We live in a very preppy area and they never go out of style I’m glad the long duster is back in style because I’m always so cold in the winter
I'm all about green and maxi dresses (just bought a green maxi dress last week). Everything else...NO. Love the video, look forward to your fall fashion finds!
Hot Pink ! Love it ! Finally I will be able to stock up ! I’m a girl from the eighties and hot pink is really my thing even when it was not in fashion.
Good video Angela! It's obvious you invested a lot of time in preparing this post! Well done! You are so genuine! Thank you! "Stay beautiful on the inside and out!"
Thank you Marsha! I really appreciate your comment. A lot does go into finding all the right pictures and editing them all in at just the right time. Happy Thursday!
Here in Austin there really isn’t a fall as it’s still in the 80’s so no jackets, or heavy clothing. I love loafers and clogs! I hate pink so that’s a big no. I do me when it comes to fashion and I always wear what I like even if it isn’t in style.
Hi Angela - you are SPOT on with everything you said about the 2022/2023 Fall/Winter trends in this video! Awesome job on this one!!! Ps. the decor at your new place looks lovely,
I love your video Angela ! There is a lot of work and research in there ! Thank you for the heads up on fall trends ! Regards from Quebec, Canada, Sophie
Love the white tank as a layering piece ~ yes to the bomber jacket. Absolutely NO to the sheer 🤦🏻♀️! Love your taste in furniture, your living room looks lovely. No baggy cargo pants 😂 either.
Hi Christine! I wanted to get a video of our house out a week or so ago but things were delayed and somethings are still delayed but I just decided to film what we have...better than nothing so that video will be out next Thursday
Hi Angela, no to the loafers and the clogs, sheer clothes, fur accessories, too much denim, or too match denim. I love the white tank, bomber jackets, and love oversized button down shirts, especially cute cozy flannels in the Fall/Winter months. I don’t like the baggy cargo pants. Green looks beautiful on you with your hair and skin tone, but, don’t usually care for it on me. That’s all I can remember. There was more I didn’t like than I did like. Haha! I do have to say that Fall clothes are so much prettier than Summer, even though, I love Summer the best. Great video Angela, always fun when you have a new one.
Yes on the loafers and clogs. Yes on the maxi skirts. No on the cut outs, baggy cargos, sheers, and fur. Denim is always good. Green depends on color and style.
Yes, A FUN video of what is to come! I have not looked ahead, so thanks for you doing it! I agree with you on most everything. I do not like cut outs, or green. So glad I found your channel!!! I subscribed!
Hi Angela, thank you for a great video. I do not like clogs, never did. I do love the bright colors. No cutouts for me and nothing sheer. No to fur accessories, no to oversized cargo pants. I’m anxious to see all the fashions for the Fall and Winter.
I loved your story. I also have a bulging disc in my lower back and pain in my knees ankles and hands. But I found by accident that when I put the music of my youth on pandora and dance like no one’s watching I don’t feel the pain as much. Your story validated that it’s not just in my head. Thanks so much!
I remember wearing penny loafers and tassel loafers as a little girl in the 60s and even the preppy look and the 70s and early 80s in college. I also loved wearing clogs in college. I remember having a very comfy pair that looked like I had on boots but that’s because my jeans or long skirts really set them off. I love bomber jackets but I’m plus size I’d be very careful with how they look on me.
I’m a 72 year old who doesn’t look or feel my age!! Love your videos & have used your suggestions & style tips - about the shoes!! I will never wear the lug sole shoes!! I have slender calves & ankles & I look like I have elephant feet in them!! Also, the loafer trend I like, but in a mule maybe, again so it’s not so HEAVY!! I’ve NEVER cared for clogs & I won’t be buying any. There are some really nice mules w/the chain accent that I’m looking to buy. Can’t decide on color!! Thanks for your research & letting us know what the current fashion tends are! The sheer look - nice in a kimono & definitely w/something underneath!! Bomber jackets? Yes - especially the quilted or florals!! Handbags - I have a fur one from probably 15-16 years ago. It’s a cheetah print & is not a shoulder bag nor a crossbody. I love it in winter!! It pairs so beautifully w/my black dress coat & boots. It’s the last fur piece I ever bought! And I won’t be participating in the fur fad! Again, thank you for hard work & the time you spend to help all of us look our best! 😻😻😻
Whenever flares, wide leg or bootcut jeans are in clogs always come back. They are a comfortable shoe that gives you height without a heel that work with the wider leg style jeans
I don't shop often, but I walked into my favorite high-end clothing store the other day and walked out after five minutes. It looked like a 90-year-old buyer had purchased lines of clothing that had been fashionable for 50-year-olds 50 years ago: oversized, brightly-colored, large-print florals everywhere. No way will I pay premium dollars for clothing that I would pass up at an estate sale. This store had always carried tasteful, expensive, quality merchandise. What a disappointment.
Sounds like the Mango videos I have been watching...HUGE prints...really awful.Oversize matronly styles big double breasted blazers, wide shoulders, loose leg pleated slacks, just not me even at 75! It wasnt me at 20 or 30! I am 5ft 4" an hourglass Romantic those things swallow me whole and make me look 500 lbs when I am a curvy 130 so NOOOOO! I had a pr of navy suede clogs wooden soles in the 60s I kept kicking the inside of my own ankles ouch...learned my lesson then. I have three bomber jackets one is black and cream with small emboirdered flowers in just strategic areas really cant wait to wear that with white camis or a pink t shirt or long sleeve tee both are v neck. Hot pink is not my color with light warm skin amd warm blonde hair but I do have a handbag that color I will wear that with black this fall. Sequins are in this fall so I will wear my white sequin bomber jacket thrifted I will wear with my white cami. I dont own one true green item. Spring bright green I have a blazer but it is three button and I am wearing all one button ones now, not too long for my short body. No to the fur thing, well I DO have a nice brown fur trimmed wrap blanket not too thick for winter that I will wear about twice this winter at night here in the tropics but when you jeed something li.e that you need it. Hmm, glad I didnt toss my denim jackets...was getting ready to a couple of mos ago hadnt worn them for a long time. I have a well fitting button up nice denim dress in a light weight . I live in the tropics so no long leather for me I have a beautiful black leather jacket traditional zip up with collar never goes out of style, I wear it about twice a year around Christmas, viewing decorated Christmas trees in the town square.
Aaahh! I have almost every one of those items…even down to the “Hot Pink” fur purse by Betsy Johnson! I’m all set! Thank you for doing this video Angela.
I liked several of these. My favorites are the floral bomber jackets, color green, color hot pink, head to toe denim, and appropriate cutouts! I do like loafers and short handle purses too!
Here I thought I was out of the fashion loop due to Europes fashion however I have all but 2 items on your count down list Angela. Love the long leather fall jacket/coats. No to extreme cut outs & white tank tops(stain queen). Happy I'll be in American trend for this fall fashion season into 2023.
Such a great video idea! Ok.... I'm a yes for clogs, maxi skirts & the color green! Absolutely NO WAY on the sheer clothing... unless it is a kimono over tank tops! Also no to bomber jackets, extreme cutouts, baggy cargo pants, extreme cutouts & long leather dusters! Thanks for all you do for your viewers!
Omg!!! Girl, I had so forgotten Tom Cruise in “Risky Business “!!! So funny. I agree with you on the colorful kids clothes and bland “old people”clothes. I just turned 69 in September, and just because I am a woman of a certain age does NOT mean I don’t like color. Maybe the fashion industry needs to cater to us a little more. Can I get an amen??I really loved your video. Thanks for sharing!!
I'd love to find a quilted jacket! When I was a student in the mid-70's, Bass shoes made puff leather boots. I wore mine out! I wish they'd come back - they were so comfortable!
A sheer shirt over a tank looks great, I have white tank and white sheer shirt with small pattern, tie the shirt at the waist. Looks great with jeans and doesn't look too young on ms 60. Great channel. Hi all you lovely women ❤️❤️
I have never been a fan of loafers either!! I prefer flip flops in summer and boots in winter. That's about it. But I'm like you, Angela. I couldn't stand certain trends in the past only to embrace them later on!!! I love all of your ideas in this video and I'm LOVING the hot pink that will be coming out. 🌺
Everything you mention in this video except the long leather jacket I already have. I am going to be 69 years old next month and I still wear those clothes especially my cargo pants! I think that some accessories with a little fur are so much fun. But I think it's up to the person and how comfortable they feel with what they're wearing. I am an artist and a New Yorker so I feel very comfortable with these these outfits. I think people should wear whatever makes them happy.
I go for more classic styles. Loved your video countdown. I'm 67 and very petite. Loud in color or pattern or girlie stuff just doesn't work on me. I like to feel like Im wearing my clothes and not the opposite. Great video!
I love green and I am happy that it will be in trend again. I saw a lot of brown and I hate it so green is great. I love loafers and I have a lot so this will be nice. Here in Québec it's a bit different but I hava about 300 pieces so I will find something to wear with these new trend. Continue your good work.
Yowza! Who doesn't like an oversized white button down shirt? And yes, I do iron them! lol bomber jackets, LOVE long leather coat. I hate clogs, loafers and granny maxi skirts, meaning ruffling in layers. Thanks for this video, I.just found your channel and posted it to my facebook groups!
Long skirts are for taller people. I am 5 foot. I won't be wearing fur either. No baggy cargo pants either. Very selective on the cut out top. I'm like you, I love a crossbody purse, no long leather jackets, like I said I am 5 ft. I had a Maxine leather coat when I was younger and thinner and use to wear 3- 4 in hills! Well, there you have it, I guess I won't be in style another year. But, I will be comfortable in what I wear. I do like the preppy looking tassel shoes and clogs. Now that I'm older at age 66, It's not so much about the trends as it is comfort and colors that look nice on me. Thank you for being honest about the trends and your preferences. As you get older, you will probably do your own thing like most older women. I did subscribe to your channel. From Texas.
new to your channel, and I like it. Thank you. I can't resist saying this (and I hope you love it): your use of "us" vs. "we" was correct! Whoever left a nasty comment about it was wrong. The reason? You weren't saying "us" as a subject (in which case it "we" would have been correct). You were using it as an OBJECT of the preposition "for" when you said, "for us ladies..." You are correct. If it had been a subject, then you would have used "we." An example is as follows: "We ladies over 50 LOVE Angela's channel." Have a nice day
