"I am my species, am without norm, without law, without model, etc. It is possible that I can make very little out of myself; but this little is everything, and is better than what I allow to be made out of me by the might of others, by the training of custom, religion, the laws, the State. Better - if the talk is to be of better at all - better an unmannerly child than an old head on young shoulders, better a mulish man than a man compliant in everything. The unmannerly and mulish fellow is still on the way to form himself according to his own will; the prematurely knowing and compliant one is determined by the “species,” the general demands - the species is law to him." - Max Stirner
I tend to agree with what you are saying. I feel that the truth of who and what we are is available to us in the correct altered states. So much of what is pursued as truth in this world is not the pursuit of truth at all. I do wonder though as this is the intellectualisation of the spiritual and what is missing to me is, what are we to do here, now? This world is filled with people who have become zombies to a lost social (or anti social) system. I know what I feel about what we might do, but talking about what we are and where we came from will not necessarily clear up the problem of, what are we going to do with it now?
Those questions really caught my eye. Talking about where we came from has it's place, but ultimately it only leads to arguments of the first cause. I can't tell you how to get to the point you want to go to, but we are here now. We go through all religions, new ideas to catch a glimpse of eternity. The bottom line is this: It is, it always has been, and always will be. That includes you.
Hopefully we can get ol boy to notice this comment and give an answer of sorts, or rather, his input. I’m in the same boat, I promise you. Deep down, I’ve always been searching for knowledge, spiritual knowledge. A peace of knowing ones self. Maybe I’m crazy, or grasping at straws at this point, but this guy really speaks to me. I mean, if he had a kind of “church”, I would willingly attend as I feel this is helping to at least jog our memories of who we actually are, and truly, why we are here. My issue is, deep down, I don’t know who I am. I don’t even know what I am. I’m spiritually lost. I long for the answers to these questions. Does that make any sense to anyone?
@@ajhproductions2347 Establishing a new "church" of sorts is something that's been on my mind. I've talked about "rebuilding the Semicircle" before, and this is still something I intend to do...but I don't have it all worked out. More than likely it will start with building an online community. Eventually, I'd like to acquire land and build a small "school", "monastery", "commune" or whatever you want to call it. I want to avoid creating anything "cult like" or making myself too much of a "guru" though. Ultimately the goal, as I see it, would be to create a small scale model of an ideal "community of gods".
@@ajhproductions2347 meditate. Take time to be still and to be silent. I feel this man is speaking truth to us for this I am grateful. Love others. Do what thou will is to align ones will with the will of the Divine because our true self is an extension of source energy. Of Divine Spirit. 🤔🤪😜😄😃😃 You have much coming your way. Mostly love. 🙌
Great topic! I would like to pick from your point of super powers as bait for the mistery teachings! I think its really interesting, so first i like super powers, i would like to have super powers :) not something too extravagant or out of this world, i would just like to be a able to manipulate the very quantic arrangment of matter as well as with all kinds of energy with a mere concentrated thought! I hope its not too much to ask XD, maybe a triple or quadruple helix dna would help! but what is interesting, is the process itself of aquiring any abilities... like for example, even if there was a substance to release any potential hidden powers, there would be some difference! Imagine someone who consumes the substance os alchool and it gives him the power of speaking with great confidence, because his worring senses have been overwhelmed! Still, this doesnt mean a man cant be equally confident without any external substance like alchool! But just by using his own mind! Now the interesting scientific part of this, are the scientists who claim that humans use their brain total potential at just a level of about 10%, or the scientists that invented the term "junk dna" because they have come to the conclusion that about 90% of dna doesnt translate itself into protein, so they have no idea what that dna is there for, and there are different views about this, but this would be akin to the great misteries focus on morality, but making use of the concept of super powers as bait so to speak, because the destination always seem to be more appealing than the journey in the biggining, specially if we are badly prepared for the journey, this is like someone starting a bussiness not because it will help his community primarily, but because it will make him money! But it will only make him money maybe because its something his community needs! If its not a scam lol, this was just to give a small analogy as the use of morality as an end to the means or as a means to the end! Basically the old fable of the journey vs the destination, witch we can apply to most things...anyway...i liked the naruto anime and i think it has a lot of references to a lot of ancient misteries so to speak :) there is someone in the story who got so super powered that she could combine the 4 elements in the right portions to make a new singularity, basically was able to create a new whole universe! That would be a fresh concept of "what am i gonna do today?" Ahah...peace!
Some interesting comments. As far as super powers, I think many abnormal abilities go unnoticed. I view many of the great legends of religion to be metaphors. Think of Jesus' power to calm the raging sea or walk on water...if we think of the water as emotion and air as thought, then this could be understood as the power of an adept to quiet and still their mind and to rise above their emotions. Is this a magical ability? To restore sight to the blind is to train an initiate to see by the light of reason and higher intuition.
Illuminatus Pythagoras it is very interesting...i know we are talking of these abilities here as a natural consequence of a high developed counsciousness, and not as magic as in the sense of something not having a logic cause and effect sequence of events, as to what you say about metaphors, i find it very interesting, it makes sense in some ways for it to be seen as a metaphor, as in some traditions, large bodys of water are used to represent the uncouncious and so on, and its not like we ourselfs are not largely composed of water lol, and it even may make sense to some people for the aspects of mind to have some material counterpart, we know each drop of water, or even each cell in the human body can contain large deposits of memory, more than what a brain can regulary process, you also told these ancient terms for the word listener and doer, this was something i did not knew and i also find this interesting, if we use these terms in some examples i mentioned here, we could say for example that listener wants to go directly to the destination, while the learner realises that it does not matter where the destination is, in any case the most important thing is to learn how to navigate, the destination does not matter...as we can say about this topic of special abilities, that they are just defining a well developed mind from a bad developed one, we can say that the listener side has an interest in aquiring these things as ends to means, while the learner just wants to learn the process of counsciousness, and in the development of this process the rest comes along! Now another very interesting topic is how we do this thing of developing counsciousness, as you explored in some of your videos in dept, it seems the main diferentiation in this vision among traditional teachings, is about cultivating the ego or dissolving the ego, some people also talk about being inclusive you know, this means being able to see everything has its place, even the ego, altough i do not fully understand if some people are actually saying the same thing in different ways, like dissolving the ego so that its not in the place of central control, but to dissolve it into its own place, or if they really mean destroying the ego somehow, either way it seems to be a kind of total agreement in a certain way, that the ego is both what allows us to experience the physical reallity, its the medium between the mind and the 3D identity so to speak, and at the same time, this crucial component seems to be what is blocking us from having the exact same experience it is crucial for we to have, at its full potential! This was always the tricky part i found about this subject lol, but its still interesting!
I actually made a video about this topic. You can search my videos for it. The decision to have children is obviously highly personal and there are a lot of considerations. I wouldn't make a blanket statement that applies to everyone on this question. I also don't think there's one unified position among people who describe themselves as "gnostic" or who identify with "gnostic" ideas. As you might guess, the Pythagorean tradition influences my thinking...and obviously Pythagoras had children.
John. To be a Gnostic, you must know thyself. Truly contemplate it yourself. It is absolutely okay to disagree with practically everything Mr.Pythagoras has said to us. I myself have disagreed with some things. But it's always honest disagreements. It requires contemplating over a long period, of time, and it becomes a point to where both are true, or, they both contain truth. You should read THUNDER PERFECT MIND. If you agree with anything, Then you must disagree with it. And vice versa. This means even if something is absolutely and obviously truth, You should still disagree with it. And vice versa. This will allow to to transcend all ditochtomies (spell check) This will really bring wisdom to you. Do it for all things both simple and intense. You hear a song you love, think about what you hate about it. And take this to the extreme. If you find something you might he heavily offended by, For example, Child Pornography, then try and think of how positive it could be. This probably sounds very distasteful. But see what I mean? It is crossing your boundaries. This is very hard to do. Yet it will be very rewarding, And your ontological level will be basically god tier LMAO. Looking at what I have said, reflect on your question. What do you think is wrong with reproduction? What do you think is right? Ultimately, This should never end. After a fair amount of contemplation, you will be more comfortable and capable of leaning towards whatever you feel is correct. However, Be willing to change at any moment in the future. Never. Ever. Put a Cap/Limit on your Gnosis, Or yourself. And you shall always have room for Exploration, improvement and, Ultimately, TRANSCENDENCE! 😉
That's a good question. How could I get that wrong...unless I meant to...unless I thought that the phrase needed to be corrected. "Do WHAT thou wilt" places too much emphasis on the action itself. "Do AS thou wilt" turns the attention back toward the actor...it places importance, not on the action itself, but the manner in which the action is accomplished. In other words "do what thou wilt" places emphasis on the action performed, whereas "do as thou wilt" places emphasis on the performance of the action. This may seem like a subtle distinction, but Crowley also paid attention to these sorts of details. And as I stated, my point isn't to explain someone else's ideas, but to explain my own. So I didn't say it wrong. I said it the way I intended. In other words, I did as I willed! ;-) Since, in doing so, I obeyed the whole of the law, on what basis do you say I'm wrong?
I actually appreciate the reason that you did this, now that you explained it. I knew it'd be strange of you (as you're a very intelligent guy) to not have a good reason to do it. I also really found it refreshing for once to see someone that isn't quite to reduce metaphysics to metaphor or psychology (as is too common). There is a strong divine and 'other-ness' to Hermeticism and Thelema (in connection to Hinduism as well) that modern occultists try to disregard. Thank you for this video, again: really great video! The allegories that you give about fraternal/magical/spiritual Orders where very relevant to me at the moment as well, the issue of masking intent or ultimate purpose of pursuing such an Order - is either detrimental or not, to an Adept. I myself have problems with such a thing (on the account that truth is not so unobtainable, neither is enlightenment - although you could in theory obtain both in an Order but I find them to be a non-necessity and often a distraction)
