Galatians 1:6-9 6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

In Matthew 22 Jesus sums up the law for us. 34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" 37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Then and John 13 Christ gives us a new commandment. This commandment would be just as binding upon New Testament Christians as the law of Moses was upon Israel in the Old Testament. Why? Because Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He is our Lord. 31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, 'Where I am going, you cannot come,' so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Then, Christ reiterates this commandment in John 15. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. The Apostle John repeats this commandment in 1st John 3. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. The law of Christ which our Lord and Savior gave us himself.

Everyone is "under the law" before salvation because we are under its judgement. Therefore, nobody can be justified before God by keeping the law. Romans 3:19-24 19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Righteousness through Faith 21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Only by faith in Jesus Christ is a person justified before God.

The devil is very crafty and deceptive. He has attacked the word of God since Genesis 3 when he told Eve," did God really say....?" There is only one true gospel and that is the gospel of grace, taught in the New Testament by Paul and the apostles. They define for us the words of our Savior and anything else comes from the pits of hell.

2 ways of approaching the subject of holiness for a Christian: 1 newness of the Spirit 2 letter of the law 1 died with Christ/risen with Christ/dead to sin/new nature within/dead to the law/walk in the Spirit/Spirit empowers you to be holy 2 letter of the law brings awareness of sin/condemnation/awakens sin within us/causes us to sin even more/brings about pride/brings about judgementalism/brings about self righteousness

For all have sin and fall short of the glory of God. We are all sinners. What defines sin? Transgression of the law. The law remains so we remain under grace. To be holy means to be set aside for spiritual, sacred purposes. There were items in the temple considered holy. Did they have a new nature? We’re they sinless? They were set apart for sacred purposes. What are we set aside for? To represent Jesus. To be priests and kings/queens for God.

@@christtheonlyhope4578 what is the cause for the need of grace? We are saved by faith through grace. Saved from what? Sin. What is sin? It is transgression of the law. Remove the law, we have no need of grace.

The NT clearly teaches we as Christian's are not under the law Romans 6:14 is one clear example of that: For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. However, many see grace as a license to live any way they want to. So many non Christian cults have perverted the gospel of grace and made sin ok. Paul clearly states that grace is not license to sin. Romans 6:1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? So the answer is NOT to be disobedient to the true teachings of the apostles and put ourselves under the law. The answer is to understand the truth of what grace is for it is grace that saves (Ephesians 2:8,9) and grace that Christ came to bring (John 1:14,17).

Ephesians Christ has abolished the law which was a wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:15) Philippians Paul considered everything the law gained him as “skybalon” which is Greek for “poop”. (Philippians 3:4-8) 1 Timothy The law is only good if used in the right context. (1 Timothy 1:8) (see next verse for the context) It was made for the unrighteous but not for the righteous. (1 Timothy 1:9-10) Hebrews The law is weak, useless and makes nothing perfect. (Hebrews 7:18-19) God has found fault with it and created a better covenant, enacted on better promises. (Hebrews 8:7-8) It is obsolete, growing old and ready to vanish. (Hebrews 8:13) It is only a shadow of good things to come and will never make someone perfect. (Hebrews 10:1)

Some of what you say may be taken out of context to make your point. For instance, what about "for the Law is holy and righteous and good", and "do we then annul the Law because of Messiah? God forbid! May it never be! On the contrary, we establish/uphold the Law!" Also, what about Hebrews 8:8-10, which says that, as part of the New Covenant, the "Law has been written on our hearts, and in our minds", and are you really sure that it IS the Sinai Covenant that was "obsolete, growing old and ready to vanish"? What about the Covenant of Moab, given in Deuteronomy, "deuteros" meaning SECOND, (Greek) and "nomos", meaning LAW? We ALL KNOW that keeping the Law does NOT purchase our eternal salvation! Nor does it PERFECT us! Eternal life is a FREE GIFT! The WAGES of SIN, (transgression of the Law) is death...we work for death and we EARN it! We are CALLED and EQUIPPED to WALK AS HE WALKED! He walked in obedience to the Law! Messiah Yeshua kept the 7th day Sabbath, He kept the Feasts of YHVH, NOT "Jewish" Feasts, but YESHUISH FEASTS! We will ALL be keeping the 7th day Sabbath in the Millennial Kingdom, as well as the NEW MOONS and SUKKOT! And, of course, celebrating the Passover Memorial! Messiah Yeshua is the Passover Lamb...NOT the easter/Ishtar ham! He is "the Lamb who TAKES AWAY the SIN of the world"! He doesn't JUST COVER sin, like the animal sacrifices did...which had to be repeated over and over again! Scripture says that He takes away sin, (transgression of the Law), as far as the East is from the West! How far is that? If you go East, you will NEVER go West! NOT unless you turn around and go in the opposite direction! So, that's pretty far! The Spring Feasts WERE a shadow of Messiah Yeshua's FIRST appearing to provide salvation for the world, when He died on Passover, as the "SUFFERING SERVANT", He was the Unleavened Bread, He rose on First Fruits, the Holy Spirit was given to INDWELL believers on SHAVUOT! Let us CELEBRATE HIS FULFILLMENT OF THOSE PROPHETIC FEASTS! The FALL FEASTS ARE a SHADOW OF Messiah Yeshua's RETURN< when we celebrate HIM as the CONQUERING KING OF YOM TERUAH, the SACRIFICE AND the SCAPEGOAT of YOM KIPPUR, AND WHEN WE GO INTO THE WEDDING CHAMBER WITH HIM AS HIS BRIDE ON SUKKOT! HALLELUJAH! The Feasts are HOLY, SET APART, REHEARSALS! If you were going to be wed, and you invited members of the wedding party to the rehearsal, and they said to you, "DO WE HAVE TO BE THERE?", would you think that they didn't want to know what was going to go on at the real ceremony? We are supposed to PROCLAIM HIS DEATH until He returns! NOT His birth! His birth WAS supernatural, but He was born as a human being, in a body of flesh...it is/was HIS DEATH that (He was BORN TO DIE) CONQUERED SIN and Satan, NOT His birth! NONE OF US HAS ALL THE ANSWERS! WE ALL have a piece of the answer puzzle! Some have more pieces than others now, but they must put them in place as they see fit! Some pieces have been put in the wrong place, because they look like they ALMOST fit! But we won't be able to see that clearly until almost at the end of the puzzle putting together session! And some people hoard puzzle pieces! Did you ever put together a jigsaw puzzle, with several hundred or a thousand pieces? More to say, about "the Law being a "pedagogue" to lead us to Messiah"...well, what is a "pedagogue"? It is/was a mature person who was hired by parents to accompany their child daily, to tutor the child and show the child how to behave properly, NOT necessarily academics...when the child grew to adulthood, he/she would most likely "be like his/her Master/pedagogue"...and the parents did NOT then BAN the pedagogue and tell the child to forget everything that the MASTER/PEDAGOGUE taught him/her! NO WAY! The child would grow into a fine, upstanding member of Godly society! NOT the WORLD's idea of society! Anyway, I gotta go now...I have spent enough time of this today. I hope that you had a blessed and meaningful Passover REMEMBRANCE and that you are enjoying an UNLEAVENED time of RENEWAL AND REFRESHING UNDER THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB, YESHUA, WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD! Baruch B'Shem Yeshua!

Jennifer Schmidt if you read the scriptures above you would realize that 1st Timothy 1:9 and 10 show the purpose of the law which is for unbelievers. There is a purpose for the law and the law is good but if you try to be justified before God by keeping it, then you are using it for a purpose that it's not intended to be used for. When Hebrews speaks of the old Covenant which is being made obsolete, it is talking about the Covenant of Moses. If you read Hebrews carefully that's exactly what it's talking about. That's why we have an Old Testament and a New Testament. An Old Covenant and a New Covenant. The New Covenant that Jesus spoke about in Luke 22:20.

Jennifer Schmidt you are taking the Law and using it for a purpose that it is not intended for. In the scripture that you quoted, (Romans 3:31) where he says we establish the law, did you ever stop to look at the verses that precede it? Verses 21-23 says....But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, The righteousness of God has been revealed which is APART from; SEPARATE from; has NOTHING TO DO WITH the law. There is a purpose for the law and that purpose is for unbelievers so that when Judgment Day comes they will be more accountable to God. The Apostle Paul contended with people like you very strongly. People that he called the 'people of the circumcision' or were also known as judaizers. The gospel that the New Testament speaks about is the gospel of faith and we are justified by faith before God. Just as Abraham was justified by faith before the law ever came into being.

@@steveparks2976 I was just going to let this go, but how do you discern who believers are from unbelievers, since most "New Testament" only people are out there doing the same things as the unbelievers? Do you think that it's okay, then, as several other people have asked, to kill/murder, steal, lie & cheat and commit adultery, lust or elicit lust from others, or even work on the 7th day Sabbath and make others work on Sabbath? To me, that's NOT very loving! You say that "the Law is for unbelievers", and then when they read it, or hear it, what do they do then? If they REPENT, do they just say, "I'm forgiven, now I can go back and do all those things with a clear conscience, because Gentile Jesus paid the penalty for my sin/s"! And since He is NOT really the Passover Lamb, but is the Ishtar ham, He really didn't take away the power of sin, so I can continue to transgress the Law". The "Judaizers" were those who Rav Sha'ul, Paul, contended with because they said that Gentiles had to be circumcised to change their ethnic identity in order to be saved! We ALL know full well that NOBODY is saved by "keeping the Law", particularly the sacrificial aspects of the "Law". And did you read the part about the Moab Covenant, given in Deuteronomy, deuteros meaning "second" and nomos meaning "law", being the "Law that was added because of transgressions" and being also, "the law that was becoming obsolete and was passing away"? That's because it included the earthly Levitical priesthood, the Tabernacle and the Sacrificial system, which made it possible for ancient Israel to exist in YHVH"s presence without being wiped off the face of the earth...which is what YHVH wanted to do to Israel when He saw the golden calf! The reason it was written that way is because the Temple was STILL STANDING when that was written! The remnant of Israel who still lived in the area of the Temple were still making sacrifices at that time, even after Messiah died and the veil in the Temple was rent from top to bottom, opening the way into the Holy of Holies in heaven, the very throne room of YHVH! The Temple was NOT destroyed until 70 CE! That's why Messiah would be of no effect for those who became circumcised to change their ethnic identity, as they would no doubt have been required to go into the Temple and make sacrifices! I am NOT even "Jewish", but Yeshuish! I am a Messianic Gentile who is GRAFTED INTO THE GOOD< CULTIVATED OLIVE TREE OF REDEEMED, BELIEVING REMNANT "Israel". Gentiles are NOT their own "new gentile olive tree"! Sorry! Sad for you, but true for me! I've got news for you, there are some ethnic "Jews", who also think that the "Law has been done away with". And like Anne Graham Lotz, who says, "just give me 'Jesus' "...then we all just do our own thing...we can 'heal' people in his name, and 'cast out demons in his name', and do many other marvelous works, and what is He going to say? "Go away from Me, I never knew you, you LAWLESS Ones"! We profane the Sabbath, lust, cheat, lie, commit adultery, steal, kill, rape, kidnap, etc., etc. and we are still "okay", because Gentile, Aryan "Jesus" COVERED IT ALL! He redeemed us TO obey, NOT FROM Obedience! We were ALL serving SATAN before our New Birth! Satan is the ruler of this world system! I guess if you don't have anything constructive to offer, then you start name calling and accusing! What about "for the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat, therefore, do what they say, but don't do what they do...for they say and do not"? Some say that Messiah Yeshua was only speaking to the "Jews" at that time, however, I need you to tell me how it is that Gentiles, being wild branches, grafted in, contrary to nature, just accept Gentile, Aryan Jesus as their Savior and aren't called to "walk as He walked"? Do you know anything about grafting? In nature, good branches are grafted into wild root stock, because wild roots are cold and winter hardy, heat and drought tolerant, and insect and dis-ease resistant! But what have we here? We have WILD BRANCHES being grafted into the GOOD, CULTIVATED OLIVE TREE of REDEEMED BELIEVING REMNANT ISRAEL...NOT apostate, backsliding, disobedient "Israel"! Call me all the names that you like, if it makes you "feel" better about yourself! If I were really doing what you say I am doing, then I truly need to be corrected...but My Master & Savior is the ONE to do it! So many others have given a truly good defense of the Gospel as the "Law written on the heart" instead of on tablets of stone! What is written on your heart? And I ask you why did Yeshua let the woman caught in adultery off the hook? He told her, "go and sin no more, lest something worse happen to you". First of all, adultery is one of the commandments. Secondly, what could possibly be worse than being stoned to death? And then, she didn't commit adultery by herself! She had a partner! But the Pharisees only brought the woman! It was a "good old boys club"! The man was just being a man! It's what men do...they lust and they cheat! I've heard it so many times, it makes me puke! 1 John 3:4, "for SIN is transgression of the Law". Being eternally separated from the Father is worse than being stoned to death in the flesh! And didn't the man deserve the death penalty?! Don't you see why "church" is impotent in the world? Because it is LAWLESS! I recently read about the Welsh revival, when people were repenting and turning to the Savior in droves, and the police didn't have anything to do, BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS BECOMING LAW ABIDING! Someone in early American said, "obey God, or be ruled by tyrants"! So, you have a choice...decide to answer the call, and we are ALL CALLED, and if we hear the Call, and heed the Call and obey the Call, then we are CHOSEN! To walk the walk and then talk the talk. Too many people love to talk the talk without walking the walk! Why NOT celebrate Messiah as the Passover Lamb Sacrifice who takes away the SIN of the world? Remember that "sin is transgression of the Law"! Paul said, "for Messiah, our Passover has been slain for us, therefore let us keep the Feast..." Why NOT celebrate First Fruits, in honor of Messiah Yeshua who is/was the FIRST FRUITS FROM AMONG THE DEAD? Most want to scold and bully and accuse and name call and offer their own interpretation of Scripture. I guess it's because they don't have anything else to offer. I am interesting in your perspective, if you are genuinely interested in speaking the Truth! I am open to correction, by someone who is qualified to do correction. We all are entitled to our own opinion, but not entitled to our own facts! The fact is, Messiah Yeshua, through His blood sacrifice, restored us to righteous relationship with the Creator of the Universe, YHVH, it's NOT RELIGION! It's relationship! Did you ever read Jeremiah 31:31-33, 34 and Hebrews 8:8-10, about the Promise and the Fulfillment of the Law written on the hearts of the recipients? And guess who the New/Renewed Covenant was made with? And who is GRAFTED INTO that New/Renewed Covenant? What does "righteousness" look like? Is it a bunch of Lawless freaks running around doing their own thing, creating their own calendar, making up their own festivals, cheating, lusting, fornicating, stealing, eating snakes and alligators and dogs and hogs, and cats and bats, and human flesh? Nice...Good for them, and good for you, if that's what you think it is. Good luck with all that! Grace enables obedience! Repentance means to TURN FROM SIN! NOT just say, "sorry". Thanks for sticking with me, if, in fact, you have...

At the root of legalism is the sin of pride, because the legalist thinks that he is able to commend himself to God by his own good deeds. Invariably, he is only looking at externals, not at his heart. Also, the legalist’s pride motivates him to exalt himself in the sight of others by his outward behavior, again neglecting to see the corruption of his own heart. Thus legalism denies human depravity and exalts human ability. As such, it is opposed to the gospel of God’s grace. That’s why both Jesus and Paul clashed with the legalists. Jesus hates legalism because it does not deal with the condition of our hearts before God. Christianity is primarily a matter of the heart. Everything flows from a heart relationship with God, who transforms our hearts when He regenerates us. The Jewish religious leaders seemingly were seeking after God, but in reality they were self-seeking. They didn’t see themselves as sinners in need of a Savior. They saw themselves as good people because they kept the Law. But in reality, they didn’t keep the Law because they didn’t apply it on the heart level. Thus, Jesus in effect said that if they would be as careful about clean hearts as they were about clean hands, then they would be what they ought to be. The structure of our text is that in 11:37-41 we have the setting and overall theme, that legalism puts the emphasis on the external to the neglect of the internal. Then, in 11:42-44 Jesus pronounces three woes on the Pharisees in which He sets forth some of the specific problems with legalism. At this point, an expert in the Jewish law speaks up in self-defense, pointing out that Jesus’ remarks not only condemn the Pharisees; they also insult the lawyers. Rather than apologizing, Jesus launches into a series of three more woes on the lawyers (11:46-52). The result was not repentance, but rather increased hostility on the part of the Pharisees and lawyers in an attempt to trap Jesus in something He might say (11:53-54). The overall theme: Legalism puts the emphasis on the external to the neglect of the internal (11:37-41).

Understanding the difference between Old Testament (OT) and New Testament(NT) The New Testament is OLDER than the Old Testament/Covenant. Specifically, the New Testament is 430 years older than the Old Testament. In Galatians 3 vs 17 - 18, the apostle Paul says, “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise”KJV. A Testament/covenant does not come into existence until the death of its testator/mediator. Sadly, those who assembled the Bible appear to have missed this obvious gospel truth, and it’s causing a lot of confusion to many folks out there! Me and you have as a result been erroneously taught that Old Testament ends in Malachi 4 vs 6. But, this is NOT true according to what Scripture says! The word of God says in Hebrews 9 vs 16 - 17, “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth” KJV. The Old Testament ends at Golgotha, when Jesus was crucified (Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; & John 19). At Calvary, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ put an end to the old order (Old Testament) and that is why when He had received the vinegar which was put to his mouth, Jesus said the words, “IT IS FINISHED” Read John 19 vs 28 -30. It marked the end of the Law of Moses (the Mosaic Covenant or the Old Testament - which is made up of 613 laws, including the 10 commandments God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai/Horeb: Exodus 20). It was at Calvary where Jesus put an end to the Law of Moses/Old Testament. Remember He came to fulfill the Law as he had said before going to the Cross, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” Matthew 5 vs 17 - 20. But, we see when the Risen Jesus Christ appears to the disciples at Jerusalem, He says, “..These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be FULFILLED, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.” Luke 24 vs 44 KJV. Now, take note of this… A testament/covenant has its own laws and two different covenants cannot be run concurrently; the two CANNOT coexist without confusion. Glory to the Most High God!!! Here’s why we have this, “Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the LAW; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He TAKETH away the first (Old Testament or the Law of Moses), that he may establish the second (New Testament). Hebrews 10 vs 8 -9 KJV. The word of God says in Hebrews 8 vs 13, “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which DECAYETH and WAXETH old is ready to vanish away”. Colossians 2 vs 13 & 14 “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his CROSS”. Jesus Christ, the Anointed One of God, is the FULFILMENT of the Law of Moses! But someone may ask, ‘What do you mean when you say Christ is the fulfillment of the Law? Well, here’s your answer…”For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”: Romans 8 vs 3 - 4 KJV. Beloved, are you not trying to make yourself righteous by observing the Law of Moses? Are you not a well-respected and highly honored member of your church because you’re a faithful tither? Are you not trying so hard to keep the Sabbath/7th day? Don’t you observe the Passover feast? Do they not read out loud the ten commandments from the pulpit without preaching the revealed word of God from these laws? Everything written in the Old Testament was prophesying about the suffering, death, resurrection and glorification of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. In the book of Acts, we see the apostle Paul testifying Christ before king Agrippa and Festus, saying the following words, “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying NONE OTHER THINGS than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should SUFFER, and that he should be the first that should RISE from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles” Acts 26 vs 22 - 23 KJV. The Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament! I must be beside myself…what do I mean?!!! When God gave instructions for the Passover in Exodus 12, it was a shadow/prophecy/allegory, or in other words, a type of Christ as the true Passover. In 1 Corinthians 5 vs 7, the apostle Paul says, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us” When God commanded the children of Israel to keep the Sabbath, it was all about the rest that Christ would give to the believers/saints or those whom God chose before the foundation of the world. Christ is our 7TH Day; so we rest in Him. This is the rest spoken about in Hebrews 4 from verse 1 - 11; the same rest Jesus was speaking about in Matthew 11 vs 28 & 29, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”KJV

The purpose of the law Galatians 3:24-26 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. To serve as a teacher until we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior. Romans 7:7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” To reveal sin but the law cannot change us, nor can it make us holy.

When we put our faith in Jesus Christ and make him the Lord of our life, his Spirit comes and dwells within. That is how the law is now "written on our hearts." When we walk in the Spirit, we are not breaking the law of God. Galatians 5 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

In Luke 16:17 Jesus says, "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void." In Matthew 5:17-18, as part of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished." With these words, Jesus honored the Law as God's Holy Word and declared the Law to be perfect, non-negotiable, and a true prediction of God's work in the future. The fulfillment of the Law is found in Christ Himself and His finished work of redemption. We are saved by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Being under grace, believers are not bound by the Law (Romans 6:14), but we have the Holy Spirit actually living in our hearts. The Spirit gives us the ability to "love one another" (John 13:34), and we know that "the one who loves another has fulfilled the law" (Romans 13:8). Christians do not work at fulfilling the Mosaic Law, which Christ fulfilled on our behalf (Matthew 5:17); rather, we fulfill the "law of Christ" by the Spirit's power (Galatians 6:2)

Galatians 2:16 Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Romans 7:6 But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code. Romans 6:14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
@kennycouch6135
@kennycouch6135 5 лет назад
An exposition of Romans 10:4, which says: "Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes," will help in understanding what is means that Christians are not under the law. The apostle Paul clarifies the effects of original sin in Romans 2:12, stating "All who sin apart from the law will perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law." All men stand condemned before God, whether they are Jews or not, or to put it another way, whether they have the Law of God or not. Paul also states "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). If we are without Christ, we are justly condemned in God’s sight by the Law that was given to His servant Moses. However, we might argue that those who are not Jewish and therefore do not benefit from the knowledge of the Mosaic Law (including the moral and ceremonial laws), should not be condemned in the same way. This is dealt with by the Apostle in Romans 2:14-15, where he states that the Gentiles have the essence of God’s legal requirements already ingrained and so are just as much without excuse. The Law is the issue that has to be dealt with in order to bring us into a right relationship with God. "Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified" (Galatians 2:16). This passage reveals that the Law cannot justify or make righteous any man in God’s sight, which is why God sent His Son to completely fulfil the requirements of the Law for all those who would ever believe in Him. Christ Jesus redeemed us from the curse that has been brought through the law by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). He substituted Himself in our place and upon the cross took the punishment that is justly ours so that we are no longer under the curse of the Law. In doing so, He fulfilled and upheld the requirements of the Law. This does not mean that Christians are to be lawless, as some advocate today-a teaching called antinomianism. Rather, it means that we are free from the Mosaic Law and instead under the law of Christ, which is to love God with all of our being and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Christ became the end of the Law by virtue of what He did on earth through His sinless life and His sacrifice on the cross. So, the Law no longer has any bearing over us because its demands have been fully met in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in Christ who satisfied the righteous demands of the Law restores us into a pleasing relationship with God and keeps us there. No longer under the penalty of the Law, we now live under the law of grace in the love of God.

Galatians 5:21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." We are made righteous by what Christ did on the cross. To say we can be made righteous before God by keeping the law is to say that what Christ did on the cross was insufficient. It "nullifies" what Christ did on the cross. If Christian's were still bound to the law then Christ died for nothing. Some will say that the law of Christ is simply the old testament law repeated but look at what Christ said when he gave us his commandment in John 13. Vs. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. When God gave the command to love in Leviticus it said no such thing and there were penalties for not keeping it. Not only does Christ give us a "new commandment," not only is there no penalty and condemnation involved but we are to love as he loved us. Entirely different from the commandment given in Leviticus. The new testament law of Christ is wrapped up in loving as Christ loved us and gave himself for us on the cross. As he gave his all for us, we should give our all to others and bear one another's burdens as we see in Galatians 6:2. God bless. ☝🏻🙏🙂

What the bible says about this is clear. It's not about what we want the bible to say. Its about what it says and us receiving it because it is the word of God. Galatians 2 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me. 2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain. 3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. 4 And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage), 5 to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. Paul contended with the judaizers and did not yield to them.

Why do we accept the writings of the apostle Paul as believers? The apostles not only accepted the Old Testament and Jesus' Word's as authoritative, they also began to see that their writings were on the same authoritative level. Being led by the Holy Spirit, they believed they were speaking for Christ. The Apostle Paul, for example, wrote thirteen letters that have been recognized as Holy Scripture by the Christian church. Who was this man? What evidence do we have to call Paul's writings Scripture? Who Was Paul? We have no physical description of Saul of Tarsus given to us in Scripture. Early tradition says that he was a small man with a bald head. No matter what he looked liked, his writings have become part of the Word of God as found in the New Testament. He was born Saul of Tarsus - a city which is in modern-day Turkey. Tarsus had been part of the Greek world for some time. Although the family of Saul were Jews, Saul himself was a Roman citizen. While still a young man Saul traveled to Jerusalem to train as a Rabbi. In Jerusalem, he became acquainted with a group of people who believed Jesus of Nazareth to be the Messiah. Saul relentlessly persecuted these people while all the time thinking that he was serving God. The Conversion Of Saul Of Tarsus While heading for Damascus to further jail believers in Jesus, Saul had a blinding vision that knocked him to the ground. The voice that spoke to Saul identified Himself as Jesus of Nazareth - the one whom he had been persecuting. Thus began one of the great turnarounds in history. The greatest antagonist of the Christian faith - Saul of Tarsus - became its greatest missionary - the Apostle Paul. During his lifetime he penned thirteen different works that have become part of the New Testament. It is impossible to overestimate the influence that Paul played in the spread of the Christian faith. He Believed His Message To Be Divine The first thing that must be noticed is that Paul believed his message to be divine. He wrote. If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord (1 Corinthians 14:37). He wrote to the church at Thessalonica. And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe (1 Thessalonians 2:13). Paul Spoke Of My Gospel Paul spoke of "my gospel." He said the preaching of Jesus Christ had been kept secret but now had been revealed. Now to him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith (Romans 16:25,26). However, believing to have a divine message does not make it so. What evidence do we have of this message having been sent from God? Paul Received Direct Revelation From The Lord The Bible teaches that Paul received direct revelation from God. Paul wrote. Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? (1 Corinthians 9:1). After an encounter with the ascended Jesus on the Damascus road, Paul had it explained by Ananias: The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know his will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of his mouth. For you will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard (Acts 22:14,15). Disobeying His Writings Brings Discipline Paul said that anyone who disobeyed his writings was to be disciplined by the local church. He wrote. If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame (2 Thessalonians 3:14). To the Corinthians he wrote. I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I will not spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others, since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you (2 Corinthians 13:2-3). Paul also wrote. If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command. If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored (1 Corinthians 14:37,38). His Writings Were Considered Scripture During His Lifetime The final point is that the New Testament recognized Paul's writing as Scripture. Peter wrote: Our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which some things are hard to understand, which those who are untaught and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the rest of the Scriptures (2 Peter 3:15,16). The writings of Paul complete the New Testament. He was the chosen instrument to explain the meaning of the two comings of Jesus Christ. Summary Saul of Tarsus was a great enemy of the church. However he was converted on the road to Damascus while in the midst of persecuting Christians. He became the Apostle Paul - the greatest missionary the church has ever seen. Paul was given the task of explaining the ministry of Christ to the Gentile (non-Jewish) world. We find that he received direct revelation from the Lord. Paul also believed his message to be divine. The Apostle Peter confirmed Paul's words as Scripture. He was God's chosen instrument to reveal much about the central truths of the Christian faith. Paul also explained the necessity of the two comings of Christ.

Paul clearly teaches in his writings that Christian's are not under the law. He rebukes Peter and the church in Galatia for mixing the law with their faith in Christ. Galatians 2:14-21 14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? 15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."

Paul has an analogy that since he died with Christ that the law cannot bring death to him. We see this in Romans 8:7 when he tells us the carnal mind is the one that cannot submit to the law of God. When we die in Christ Our sinful flesh dies and we are risen in newness of life and we are able to walk as our Saviour walk and we are able to obey the Commandments which are holy righteous and good. Galatians 2:11-21 Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you [1] compel Gentiles to live as Jews?

@Vincent James it is true that man can obey God's laws, but we must also have faith in Messiah. It is Faith in his blood that cleanses us from the sin when we do not keep the Commandment. Even though a man can keep the Commandments in the Old Testament when he fell short he needed a sacrifice to cover his sin but nothing took his sin away until Jesus came as the Messiah. His blood takes away our sins and delivers us from death so we are redeemed from the curse of the law. We are not redeemed from the law itself, but we are redeemed from the curse of the law by him taking death and our place like the sacrifice did.

@Vincent James I agree with you that in that particular scripture the atonement or sacrificial system of shedding blood for the Forgiveness of sins is not mentioned, but we already know that that was mentioned prior in Exodus and so on

@Vincent James yes. The intentional sins just brought death. But the blood shed for the unintentional sins is still symbolic of the shed blood of the Lamb of God.

@Vincent James what does Passover represent? How is man forgiven of sin? God said the wages of sin is death. We cannot work our way to salvation. What do you believe the sacrificial system in the high priest was all about? It was about man sin separating him from God and that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Christ shed his blood as the Lamb of God to take away my sinned and there are types and shadows of that in the Old Testament. There are different theories of the atonement. Christus Victor is less of him dying in our place and more him dying at the hands of sinful man but stripping the power of the enemy in the process.

The Judaizer would say that if we claim to be under grace that we are saying it's ok to sin. Much to the contrary. Romans 6 tells us that we should not continue in sin so that grace can abound. Roman's 6 also tells us that sin will not have dominion over you because you are not under law but under grace. The law cannot break sins authority over a person. Grace is what does that. We are called to walk in the Spirit and when we do that, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Not by keeping the law. By walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5).

@@TatureBud Let's have bible study. Gal. 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So how do we not fall into sin? By keeping commandments? No. What does he say here? By walking in the Spirit. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. So there's a war going on right? Between our flesh that doesn't want to submit to God and the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. the Spirit leads regenerate persons, and teaches them to walk by faith in Christ. A person who is led by the Spirit is not only delivered from the law in fact, but delivered from its condemnation. We are not free to sin because we are not under the law, but instead free to live a righteous life before God. Our inner nature is changed (Romans 6) and we are no longer under the bondage of sin. We are slaves to righteousness with the inner desire now to please God. Again, not by keeping commandments but by walking in the Spirit. So we know what sin is. The new testament here defines it for us. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. When we choose to walk in the Spirit, this is what will show in our life. There is no law against those things. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If a person belongs to Christ, they will not live in sin. Because we are a new creation in Christ our desires have now changed. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

So routinely do people attack the bible and as Christian's we know why. It is because Satan, our adversary, goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. That's why Ephesians 6 tells us to take up the whole armor of God to stand against him. Part of that armor is the word of God which Paul calls the sword of the Spirit. So we need to know what it says and understand it. The gospel of grace that the apostles taught is clear. We are not under law but under grace. Grace is not freedom to sin, it is freedom from the bondage of sin. It is the freedom that the bible speaks about. There is no freedom in keeping the law. Much to the contrary, it is a yoke of bondage and what does Paul say regarding this? Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. Galatians 5:1-4

Spurgeon- Galatians 2:21. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. If a man can be saved by his own works, and willings, and doings, then Christ’s death was an unnecessary piece of torture; and, instead of being the most glorious manifestation of divine love, it was a shameful waste, putting upon Christ a terrible burden of suffering which was totally unnecessary.

There is probably no sin more tolerated or more widespread in the Christian world than legalism. It may surprise you to hear it labeled as sin. Legalists are thought to be a bit overzealous or “uptight,” but they aren’t usually thought of as sinning in the same sense as adulterers, thieves, liars, and the like. To the contrary, legalists seem to be concerned about holiness. Yet the Lord Jesus had more conflicts with the legalists of His day than any other group. It wasn’t the adulterers, the robbers and that sort, who put Jesus on the cross. It was the legalists. Later on, the Apostle Paul had the same experience, as the legalists dogged his steps, perverting the gospel of the grace of God. When you study the life of Christ, it is noteworthy how He deliberately did things to provoke the legalists. He could have healed people on any other day of the week, but He often did it on the Sabbath. He could have been more discreet in violating the Pharisees’ rules, but He did it openly. When a Pharisee invited Jesus to dinner, He could have gone along with their elaborate hand-washing custom, but He deliberately ignored it. When they questioned Him about it, He could have been more polite, but He blasted them for their hypocrisy. When a lawyer pointed out that Jesus had offended them as well, He didn’t say, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to offend you good folks.” He said, “Woe to you lawyers as well!” Jesus confronted legalism as sin.

So sad to see people misinterpreting the bible. Scripture, to be properly understood, needs to be taken as a whole. Not in part. So many people here have taken one verse and ran with it and taking it completely out if context. Making an eisegesis of the word instead of an exegesis of it. In other words, taking scripture in context and in light of other scripture. That is why confusion exists about so many things in the bible. In light of all scripture, the law is already fulfilled in us when we receive the Holy Spirit after we gave given our heart to Jesus. We are not required to fulfill the law because Christ has already done that. He fulfilled all things in the Old Testament. We are now righteous before him with imputed righteousness. We are not trying every day to be right with God because when we have put our faith in Jesus Christ we are already at peace with God. We seek holiness in sanctification to please him and bring glory to his name. That cannot be done by keeping the law. It comes only through faith in Christ.

Galatians 3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so many things in vain -- if indeed it was in vain? 5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? -- God's Covenant with Abraham 6 just as Abraham "believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." 7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith."

Galatians 3:19-29 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

As Paul said we are grafted into Israel whose root is Jesus. We become fellow citizens v19 V14 & v15 show Christ destroyed the partition of hostility which are found in the commandments of dogmas. Dogmas are man made decrees that Christ objected to when they went against Truth. Galatians 3:19 What purpose then does the law serve? 1- the law was put in place until the Seed would come and that Seed is Jesus. 2- the law points us to the promise of the Messiah who would one day come and free his people from the bondage of sin and make his people holy. 3- the law could not make us righteous but the Seed could. 4- the law was there to point us to Christ 5- once we have put our faith in Christ we are no longer under the law and we are under grace. 6 we are made children of Abraham by faith and we are made righteous before God by faith in Jesus Christ

Galatians 3:1-10 O foolish Galatians! 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

Christian's are in the New covenant. Testament means covenant and the blood Jesus shed initiated that covenant (Luke 22:20). We are under the grace of God. The law of Christ is what we fall under. He is our Lord. He is our Master. He is our God and we obey him. 1 John 3:23 and Romans 13:9,10 explain it for us very simply. Love is the fulfillment of all the law.

@Zz Z Galatians 1 No Other Gospel 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. They (the Galatians) were turning away, from the truth, to a different gospel. Paul did not say, 'You have turned away'. He had identified false doctrine gaining influence, and sought to counter it. The true gospel is in the grace of Christ, see 2 Tim 1.9; this grace brings us into real liberty. A false gospel brings bondage, to sin, to legalism, or to both. The false gospel here is legalism, and Paul uses his strongest language to describe those who brought this message. By deserting from the truth, to embrace merely religious works, was to fall from grace (see 5.4). v7: The different gospel is really no gospel at all, it is not 'Good News', it cannot save, it denies the grace of God in Christ, see 2 Tim 1.9. This grace brings us into true liberty; false doctrine brings us into bondage. Such false teaching is not theoretical; real people were involved, who brought real confusion into the Galatian churches. The different gospel brings confusion and trouble, and disturbance; it is unsettling, and disturbs our peace and assurance. The true gospel is perverted (Gk: METASTREPHO), making something opposite (see Acts 2.20; James 4.9); they change the gospel of Christ into something which is not the gospel. v8-9: Those who proclaim another gospel are accursed. This is not surprising, given the effects of their 'ministry'. This judgment is repeated, "so now I say again". It is no light thing to change the message of Jesus Christ.

@Zz Z Galatians 2 15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified [1] by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. 17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor. 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness [2] were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. Converted Jews had been delivered from the necessity of following Jewish regulations. This had included both Paul and Peter. The agreed message was, and is, justification by faith. This is true in our experience, for we have put our faith in Jesus Christ and have been justified by faith. This is true as a matter of fact and principle, that a man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ. In contrast, no flesh can be justified by works, or by observing the law. This human way of religion cannot bring spiritual salvation. v17-18: The message of justification by faith can be corrupted by corrupt human thinking. What happens if a person, who has put faith in Christ, then falls into sin? Does that mean that Christ promotes sin? 'Certainly not!' responds the apostle. The true message does not promote sin, see 5.13-26, and through faith we receive power to depart from sin. v19: The law is not the way of breaking with sin; it did not work for the Jewish people, and it cannot work for us today. We have died to the law, just as we have died to sin. We are freed from sin, and freed from law, that we might live for God. v20: Daily living, like conversion to Christ, is by faith. Later, Paul addresses this further issue, see 3.3. Since Christ lives in me, I can live constantly by faith in Him, and I can display His character. My relationship with Him is from His grace and initiative, since He loved me and gave up His life for me. v21: Legalism attacks the gospel; the grace of God is set aside as irrelevant, and Christ died in vain, if legalism is the way to God, and the way of God. Since the grace of God and the death of Christ are central aspects of the gospel, then we must reject legalism.

@Zz Z Galatians 3 By Faith, or by Works of the Law? 3:1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by [1] the flesh? 4 Did you suffer [2] so many things in vain-if indeed it was in vain? 5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith- 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? 7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify [3] the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” 9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. The Galatians had been "bewitched" (flattery, fascination), a reference to the methods of the false teachers. These people did not use spiritual means to explain deficiencies in Paul's doctrine, rather they used slander and deceit and trickery to draw away disciples after themselves. In particular, they by-passed the cross of Christ. The Galatians were, however, "foolish" in allowing themselves to be led astray. We need discernment so that we reject false teaching. v2-3: Paul refers to clear conversion, they had received the Spirit, they had begun in the Spirit, and that by the hearing of faith. Faith had come through the preaching of the Word of God (Rom 10.17). But now they had returned to the keeping of the law, specifically circumcision, 4.9-10; Acts 15.5. It is impossible to "attain your goal" through any human effort. We note that, having received His Spirit, we continue to need the exhortations of God to live in the Spirit. Obedience and sanctification are not automatic. v4: Even suffering, one evidence of salvation, had been denied. They were fickle humans, forgetting past blessings and experiences, and the explanation of those blessings and experiences. v5: Had God given them great blessings because of obedience to the law? The clear answer is No!" v6: "Consider Abraham", he was the father of Israel. He was justified by faith, not by works, and certainly not by the works of the law. v7: The true sons of Abraham are those who 'are of faith'. Paul answers the arguments of the false teachers (Judaizers), who called the Galatians back to 'the faith of Abraham'. v8: The promise of blessing upon the Gentiles, through faith, was always God's plan and purpose. In Eph 3.6, Paul refers to this as God's mystery. Abraham, and later the whole Jewish nation, was to be the route of God's blessing upon the Gentiles. Ultimately, Jesus Christ, who was born a Jew, became the Name through whom God's blessings were poured out for all nations. v9: If we truly have faith in Christ, we are blessed with Abraham, the man of faith.

@Zz Z Galatians 3 The Righteous Shall Live by Faith 10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” 11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” [4] 12 But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”- 14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit [5] through faith. v10-14: The folly of trying to live by the law. v10: The law of God was given by God (Ex 20); Israel had committed themselves to living under it, Ex 24.3-7; They were thus under the law, i.e: subject to its blessings and curses, 1 Cor 9.20; Under the law, life was the reward for obedience, Lev 18.5; Under the law, the curse was the reward for disobedience, Deut 27.26; But one sin brings guilt, and therefore condemnation, James 2.10; Therefore the law cannot save us, it can only condemn us, since we all fall short; we are therefore all cursed. Obedience under the law had to be: perfect, personal, and perpetual; any failing in any way brought the curse. v11: Since we are all cursed, then no-one is justified by the law, 2.16. Israel had tried to establish their own righteousness, based on the law (Rom 10.3), and Paul himself had previously been committed to such a life, 1.14. Many try to gain acceptance before God by good works, sincerity, church attendance; but such things cannot save. Without faith they are dead works. v12: The law is not about faith. The solution from God is faith, by which we live. v13: The curse of the law has been taken away in Christ, for He became a curse for us. This is pictured in Boaz, the kinsman redeemer, who was cursed, Duet 23.3; Ruth 4.10, for his deliberate and willing choice to buy for himself a foreign bride. Hosea similarly paid a price to redeem one who was unworthy, Hos 3.2. v14: Through His redemption, we receive the blessing of Abraham, which is righteousness by faith, v6-7, see Rom 4. We also receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. Salvation in Christ is redemption from the condemnation of the law, and power, through the Spirit, to live for Christ and to know Him. The blessings of Abraham are for "all nations", and Paul goes on to declare this truth also, v26-29.

Adding anything to salvation or righteousness beyond faith is to go against the teachings of the apostles and it is the apostles who interpret the words of Christ for us in scripture. We must always be careful who we listen to. Judaizers and false teachers abound spreading doctrines of demons. The gospel of grace is what Paul and the apostles taught. If we stick to that, we are following Christ correctly.

The key to understanding the relationship between the Christian and the Law is knowing that the Old Testament law was given to the nation of Israel, not to Christians. Some of the laws were to reveal to the Israelites how to obey and please God (the Ten Commandments, for example). Some of the laws were to show the Israelites how to worship God and atone for sin (the sacrificial system). Some of the laws were intended to make the Israelites distinct from other nations (the food and clothing rules). None of the Old Testament law is binding on Christians today. When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15). In place of the Old Testament law, Christians are under the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2), which is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…and to love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). If we obey those two commands, we will be fulfilling all that Christ requires of us: “All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:40). Now, this does not mean the Old Testament law is irrelevant today. Many of the commands in the Old Testament law fall into the categories of “loving God” and “loving your neighbor.” The Old Testament law can be a good guidepost for knowing how to love God and knowing what goes into loving your neighbor. At the same time, to say that the Old Testament law applies to Christians today is incorrect. The Old Testament law is a unit (James 2:10). Either all of it applies, or none of it applies. If Christ fulfilled some of it, such as the sacrificial system, He fulfilled all of it. “This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). The Ten Commandments were essentially a summary of the entire Old Testament law. Nine of the Ten Commandments are clearly repeated in the New Testament (all except the command to observe the Sabbath day). Obviously, if we are loving God, we will not be worshipping false gods or bowing down before idols. If we are loving our neighbors, we will not be murdering them, lying to them, committing adultery against them, or coveting what belongs to them. The purpose of the Old Testament law is to convict people of our inability to keep the law and point us to our need for Jesus Christ as Savior (Romans 7:7-9; Galatians 3:24). The Old Testament law was never intended by God to be the universal law for all people for all of time. We are to love God and love our neighbors. If we obey those two commands faithfully, we will be upholding all that God requires of us......

I find Christianity very hypocritical, who gives you the right to decide what you do and don't follow. Jesus's message was pure and perfect and surely you as a Christian would want to follow in his footsteps and actions? Christians do not even follow the ten commandments, they create idols and statues of Jesus and Mary, consume swine and do not have laws on segregation between man and woman. Christianity was tainted the day Paul had this 'so-called' vision, and changed the teachings of Jesus. I'm sorry but Paul did not even know Jesus, he was merely a Jew that was sick of his teachings and found them too strict. There is a reason why Judaism and Islam are the way they are, they remain strong their foundations in the commandments and have never been tampered with, Christianity and the Bible has been rewritten and changed multiple times. There is a reason why Christianity is the easiest and most liberal religion to follow, it clearly has the smallest set of rules and it is not a way of life in anyway, please go read the Old Testament and see its beauty and see the way it portrays how we truly please God. In oppose to this hippy story 'New Testament'.

TheAnalyst KR who gives us the right to follow the teachings of Paul? is that what you're really saying? As Christians we follow what the entire New Testament tells us because the gospels are defined by the rest of the New Testament. If you are not a Christian yourself then how could you possibly know that? There's a reason why there are 27 books in the New Testament and not just 4. We believe what we believe and it's not up for debate with non-believers.

TheAnalyst KR Paul as well as John James and Peter also taught against sin so it's not a liberal religion. It's become a liberal religion to some because there are people who taint what the Bible says. Romans 6 is very clear when Paul tells us that we should not continue in sin simply because we are under grace. There are two different covenants in the Bible and that's how we understand it. That's why there's an Old Testament and a New Testament. If you don't understand that then how can you understand the rest of what the Bible says? God's words are pure but man is evil. Paul was an apostle of Jesus Christ and his words are the inspired word of God. Just as much as any other writer in the Bible. That's what we believe.

John is also clear on what commandments we are to follow in 1 John 3 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. The same commandment that Christ gave us in John 15. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another. Since John also wrote Revelation, we can be assured that the commandments he spoke of in Revelation are the same commandments he gave in 1 John 3. Nowhere in the New Testament does the bible command new covenant believers to keep OT law. Much to the contrary. There are many scripture verses that say we are no longer under the law when we come to Christ.

@@kennycouch6135 we are not redeemed from God's Commandments! We are set free from the penalty or curse of the law. It is the law of sin and death that Christ redeemed us from. It is the curse of the law that was taken away, not the law itself. Just listen to the words of Our Lord in Matthew 5. He tells us plainly that not one jot or tittle of the law will pass away until Heaven and Earth pass away and all be fulfilled. If a person is loving God and loving their neighbor they will be led by the spirit and we'll walk in the Commandments of God. For it is not the hearers of the law that are made righteous but the doers of the law. Peter warns us of people that twist the writings of Paul. He calls them Lawless oh, just as our Lord tells us in Matthew 7 that many that go by the name of Christ or call themselves Christian on Judgement Day will be told they never knew him because they were workers of lawlessness. The New Covenant is written about and prophesied back in Ezekiel 36 and tells us that God will write his laws and Commandments on our hearts and give us a new heart and cause us to obey his Commandments and to walk in them. God doesn't write an abolished law on our hearts. Torah is definitely still in effect and will be until the new heavens and new earth.

As Christians we are under what is known as the law of Christ which Paul describes in Galatians 6:2. Burden-Bearing and the Law of Christ The main point of Galatians 6:1-5 is given in a general way in verse 2 and a specific way in verse 1. Verse 2: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." If a Christian brother or sister is weighed down or menaced by some burden or threat, be alert to that and quickly do something to help. Don't let them be crushed. Don't let them be destroyed. Don't be like the scribes and Pharisees. Jesus said, "They bind heavy burdens hard to bear and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger" (Matthew 23:4). Don't increase burdens. Make them lighter for people. Some of you wonder what you are supposed to do with your life. Here is a vocation that will bring you more satisfaction than if you became a millionaire ten times over: Develop the extraordinary skill for detecting the burdens of others and devote yourself daily to making them lighter. In this way you fulfill the law of Christ(6:2). That's an odd phrase in a book that says (5:18): "If you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law." And (3:13): "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law." Have we been freed from the curse and burden of the Mosaic law just to be burdened down with a more radical law of Christ? No. The difference is that Moses gave us a law but could not change our hearts so that we would freely obey. Our pride and rebellion was not conquered by Moses. But when Christ summons us to obey his law of love, he offers us himself to slay the dragon of our pride, change our hearts, empower us by his Spirit, and fulfill his law. That is why, even though Christ's law is more radical than the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, he can say, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30). It is easy because when we are weak, he is strong. It's easy because he produces the fruit of love: "I am crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me" (2:20). Christ never commands us to do anything that he wants us to do on our own. Therefore, every command in the law of Christ is a call to faith. Through faith God supplies the Spirit of Christ (Galatians 3:5); through the Spirit we produce the fruit of love (5:22); through love we fulfill the law of Christ (6:2). Therefore, if you trust him, you will fulfill his law of love. You will devote yourself to lifting the burdens of others.

". . . whosoever doeth any work . . . Six days may work be done, but the seventh is the sabbath of rest . . . whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death." The following texts teach not only that the sabbath was the sign of the covenant given at Sinai, but they show the great importance of the sabbath sign as well: And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you; every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. @@bassi3315 In Christ every believer is totally free from the law. "We are not under the law, but under grace" (Rom.6:15). We are not, justified (Rom. 3:19-24), sanctified (Gal.3:1-3), motivated (II Cor.5:14), ruled (Tit.2:11- 12), or glorified (Jude 24-25) by the law, but by grace. "CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS T0 EVERYONE THAT BELIEVETH" (Rom. 10: 4). Do you ask what that means? It means that Christ is the fulfillment of the law, the satisfaction of the law, and the termination of the law to all who believe on him unto life everlasting. It means that there is no righteousness to be had, of any kind, to any degree, by our own works of obedience to the law. The only way anyone can have righteousness before God is by faith in Christ. He is "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" (Jer.23:6). And we are the righteousness of God in him (Jer. 33:16; II Cor. 5:21). "YE ARE BECOME DEAD TO THE LAW BY THE BODY OF CHRIST" (Rom, 7:4), Do you ask what that means? It means that if you are a believer, if Christ died for you, insofar as the law of God is concerned you are dead. It can make no demands upon you. It can require nothing from you. It can do nothing to you. If you and I are in Christ by faith, we have no covenant with the law, no curse from the law, and no commitment to the law. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE AGAINST THE LAW. God forbid! We are not antinomians, We delight in the law of God (Rom.7:22). The real antinomian is the legalist who pretends to keep the law. He lowers the standard of the law to the measure of his own obedience. Otherwise he could find no comfort in his obedience. So the legalist turns the law of God into lasciviousness. Anyone who tries to put you under the yoke of the bondage of the law is leading you away from the gospel that is preached in the Bible by the apostles. 1 Timothy 1:9,10 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Righteousness does not come from keeping the Ten Commandments or any Old Testament law. The New Covenant is clear. We are saved by grace through faith and made righteous initially through what Christ did on the cross. By the blood of Jesus. Then the Holy Spirit daily sanctifies us as believers. There is no mixing of Faith plus the law. Paul rebuked the Galatians for doing just that. We are justified by faith alone and anything else is a false teaching from a false teacher.

1:17- Do we have a reason and a foundation for what we are saying? Yes. The good reason is that we must read the Bible in terms of its storyline, in terms of its covenantal development. So, though there are many covenant dispensations in the Bible, (for our purpose here) there was the Old Covenant made with Israel, which had certain requirements. And those requirements that were given to Israel set them apart from the nations, distinguished Israel from the nations. So, we have the Old Covenant and then the New Covenant in Jesus Christ. That New Covenant was prophesied in Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 36, and other passages as well. When we read the whole Bible and when we read the Old Covenant in light of the New, we see that the Old Covenant has passed away. Christians are no longer under the Old Covenant. They are no longer under the stipulations, the commands, the prescriptions in that Old Covenant. The New Covenant is new. So, NONE of the commands in the Old Testament are binding in and of themselves because the whole covenant has passed away as a package. We are under the New Covenant entirely. So, really the question is why we keep ANY of those covenants in the Old Covenant? Now, “Why do we avoid some”, but “Why do we keep some of them”? And we do keep some of them, don't we? Some of them are repeated in the NT. ….. Is there rationale in what the New Testament writers are doing? I think the most helpful way to think of it actually is that the NT writers argue that we are under now, what Paul calls, “the law of Christ,” in Galatians 6:2 and 1 Corinthians 9:20-21, we are NOT under the law of Moses, but we are under the law of Christ. What is “the law of Christ” fundamentally? Galatians 5:14 - the law of Christ is the law of love. And that is what Jesus taught, too. That is in Paul in Galatians. But Jesus taught, in Matthew 22, how to summarize what the law is about ethically? It is about loving God and loving your neighbor. And then both Jesus and Paul and other New Testament writers UNPACK what that love is: What does love look like? Well, if you love, you honor your father and mother. If you love, you don’t steal. If you love, you don’t murder, and you don’t commit adultery. So, some of those commands from the OT pass over, not surprisingly. Some of those commands are still required for today, but they are required: NOT BECAUSE it is part of the Old Covenant BUT BECAUSE the NT “indicates” that they are part of “the law of Christ.” ----- So, when we read the Scripture, we are not being arbitrary or whimsical or just picking up the commands we want to obey. We are actually being faithful to what the Bible as a whole teaches us. We are reading the Bible in light of the whole story, in light of the fulfillment that is in Jesus Christ. The nation of Israel was intended to be in force for a certain period of time. It was the state and the church. But NOW the church of Jesus Christ is in every nation and every people group. And the commands and the laws that are required are different than the laws for the small little nation (Israel) that was political and church entity. What God requires of us in the New Covenant is clear. It fundamentally calls us to is to love one another. It is pretty remarkable when we read the NT, which is NOT filled with detail regulations. The NT focuses on love of God and love of neighbor, and then, it sketches in for us, “OK, here is what love looks like in broad strokes.” But we are fundamentally called upon to imitate Jesus Christ, to follow in His footsteps. We see what the love of God is like in the Cross of Jesus Christ and in the self-giving love for others, and that is what God calls us to do as Christians.

If as Christians we are under the new covenant to love on another... my question is how much? Will Jesus NOT pay the penalty for those of us who may NOT have ENOUGH love for others? HOW much shall we love them? How much is enough love that we have to feel and exercise in our lives to be welcomed by God unto heaven when our earthly life ends? This is where I see works of love and service to others become a form of people working out their own salvation, after they understand and accept the free gift of what Jesus did on the cross for them. It seems natural that those who understand and accept the gift of Jesus’s act of love for them... a person naturally would want to love God back and pass that love on. But there still will be times of selfishness and other sins. It’s scary when I hear Christians talk about acts of love like they’ve acquired a certain amount like notches in their belts for salvation. When we think that way it takes Jesus off the thrown of being the very sacrifice for us that he was, for our salvation. We don’t earn our salvation by our actions but rather by the acceptance and belief in who he is and what he did, acknowledging our inability to follow the law and not sin. The whole old testament proved that it was impossible to not sin, it was impossible to follow all the laws and commands. God saw our problem and provided the solution in Jesus. Confessing this truth and accepting the free gift compels us to love.

Romans 7-------1-6 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. 4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another--to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

Please listen to what Paul is saying , a woman is bound to the law of her husband ( in the covenant at Mount Sinai , the children of Israel were bound to the law of their husband Moses when they violated the law of God - the ten commandments , statutes and judgments . This law was the law of animal sacrifice - the blood of the animals ; which could not get their sins forgiven , because this was of works , not of faith , and was to keep God from killing their flesh . Remember , Moses and Jesus are the mediators of the covenant , and they are the protection for the covenant people ; which are in a covenant between the Father . Jesus Christ is the mediator of faith , because he lived a life without sin ( the wages of sin is death , but if you live your life without sin , death is not on the table ; so he died not for himself , but for the one's who must live by faith to come under his blood ) ; And the Father know you if you are under the mediator's blood , and Jesus is the only mediator who has overcome death ) So long as he liveth ; but if the husband be dead , she is loosed from the law of her husband . When Jesus Christ became our mediator , he replaced Moses , and all who live by faith ( believe by repenting of their sins ; Which means to take action by starting to keep the law/commandments/instructions of God ) must live as father Abraham did . Then the blood of Christ clean you from your past sins ( 1st John 5-7 ) ; Wherefore , my brethren , ye also are become dead to the law ( law of animal sacrifice , under the mediator Moses ) by the body of Christ ; that ye should be married to another ( mediator Jesus Christ ) , even to him who is raised from the dead , that we should bring forth fruit unto God ( The blood of Christ free you of your past sins , which bring you back to the state Adam was before he sin , to continue with the instructions to have eternal life - keeping the commandments of God ( Ephesians 2;10 , " For we are his workmanship , created in Christ Jesus unto good works , which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them ) . The laws of God ( ten commandments , statutes and judgments to define the ten commandments ) does not change ; Moses gave them the laws of God on tablets of stone and written in ink in the book of the covenant , but the people did not put them in their mind/hearts ; which is required under the mediator Jesus Christ ( Hebrews 8;8-10 , " For finding fault with them , he saith , Behold , the days come , saith the LORD , I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah ; Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt ; because they continued not in my covenant , and I regarded then not , saith the LORD . For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days , saith the LORD ; I will put my laws into their mind , and write them in their hearts ; and I will be to them a God , and they shall be to me a people ) . Moses was the mediator of works ( blood of the animals and oblations ) , and Jesus Christ is the mediator of faith ( his blood the free gift through faith - believing by starting to keep the laws of the Father ) . When Paul is saying the oldness of the letter , he is saying that the people had the ten commandments on tablets of stone , and written in ink in the book of the covenant , but unless you put it in your heart ( spirit ) , it's useless . Shalom !

The Vulgate Latin version, and some copies read, "from the law of death"; and the Ethiopic version renders it, "we are loosed from the law, and are delivered from the former doctrine"; the doctrine of the legal dispensation. That being dead; not sin, but the law: in what sense believers are dead to the law, and that to them, (See Gill on Romans 7:4). Wherein we were held: as a woman is by the law to her husband, or as persons guilty, who are detained prisoners; so we were "kept under the law, shut up unto the faith", as in a prison, ( Galatians 3:23 ) ; Now the saints deliverance from the law through the abrogation of it, that losing its former life, vigour, power, and dominion, is not that they may live a loose licentious life and conversation, but that they should serve the Lord their God without slavish fear, and with a godly one, acceptably, in righteousness and holiness, all the days of their lives; and their Lord and Master Jesus Christ, who is King of saints, lawgiver in his church, and whose commandments are to be observed from a principle of love, in faith, and to his glory; yea, even the law itself, as held forth by him, as the apostle says in the close of this chapter, "with the mind I myself serve the law of God", ( Romans 7:25 ) : the manner in which this service is to be, and is performed, is, in newness of Spirit; under the influences of the Spirit of God, the author of renovation, of the new creature, or new man created in us, in righteousness and true holiness; and from a new heart, and new Spirit, and new principles of life, light, love, and grace, formed in the soul; and by walking in "newness of life", ( Romans 6:4 ) , or by a new life, walk, and conversation: and not in the oldness of the letter; not in the outward observance of the law of Moses, which is the "letter"; not indulging the old man, or walking after the dictates of corrupt nature; nor behaving according to the old former course of living: on the whole it may be observed, that a believer without the law, being delivered from it, that being dead to him, and he to that, lives a better life and conversation under the influence of the Spirit of God, than one that is under the law, and the works of it, destitute of the grace of God; the one brings forth "fruit unto death", ( Romans 7:5) , the other serves the Lord, "in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter".

@@messengerisrael3817 Ellicotts commentary- That being dead.-Our translators seem to have had a false reading here, which is not found in any MS., but arose from an error of Beza and Erasmus in interpreting a comment of Chrysostom’s. The true reading runs thus: “But as it is we were” (not “are”) “delivered from the Law, having died to that wherein we were held.” In the act of our baptism, which united us to Christ, we obtained a release from our old tyrant, the Law. Wherein we were held.-Oppressed, held in bondage. That we should serve.-Rather, perhaps, so that we serve; result, not purpose. Our release from one master implied an engagement to another. Our new state is one in which we serve an active living Spirit; our old state was a bondage to the dead and formal letter. @@messengerisrael3817 Matthew Henry- 7:1-6 So long as a man continues under the law as a covenant, and seeks justification by his own obedience, he continues the slave of sin in some form. Nothing but the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, can make any sinner free from the law of sin and death. Believers are delivered from that power of the law, which condemns for the sins committed by them. And they are delivered from that power of the law which stirs up and provokes the sin that dwells in them. Understand this not of the law as a rule, but as a covenant of works. In profession and privilege, we are under a covenant of grace, and not under a covenant of works; under the gospel of Christ, not under the law of Moses. The difference is spoken of under the similitude or figure of being married to a new husband. The second marriage is to Christ. By death we are freed from obligation to the law as a covenant, as the wife is from her vows to her husband. In our believing powerfully and effectually, we are dead to the law, and have no more to do with it than the dead servant, who is freed from his master, has to do with his master's yoke. The day of our believing, is the day of being united to the Lord Jesus. We enter upon a life of dependence on him, and duty to him. Good works are from union with Christ; as the fruitfulness of the vine is the product of its being united to its roots; there is no fruit to God, till we are united to Christ. The law, and the greatest efforts of one under the law, still in the flesh, under the power of corrupt principles, cannot set the heart right with regard to the love of God, overcome worldly lusts, or give truth and sincerity in the inward parts, or any thing that comes by the special sanctifying influences of the Holy Spirit. Nothing more than a formal obedience to the outward letter of any precept, can be performed by us, without the renewing, new-creating grace of the new covenant.

There have always been groups of Christians who believe that in order to honor God’s authority in the Old Testament we must continue to obey the food laws and other ceremonial laws, lest we be found in disobedience. There is a good impulse in this and a profoundly bad impulse in this. The good impulse is the desire to obey God. There’s nothing wrong with that. That belongs to what it means to be a Christian. The bad impulse is the failure to obey Christ who teaches us how to obey God in regard to the Old Testament. So, the good impulse starts, perhaps, with a text like Matthew 5:17-18. Jesus says, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” And the good impulse puts the emphasis on every dot, every iota of the law standing until the earth passes away. And the bad impulse neglects the words, I have come “to fulfill them,” and the words, “until all is accomplished.” In other words, the bad impulse fails to see in Jesus the kind of fulfillment and the kind of accomplishment of the Law and the Prophets that God always intended in the Old Testament as the consummation and the end of the ceremonial laws. So, the effort to hold on to the prohibition of eating pork is, in effect, a refusal to submit to God’s plan for the fulfillment of the Law in Jesus.

abcdefg Yes I'm aware of all the 8 times that the first day (Sunday) is mentioned. None of which changes the sabbath day, or is called a holy day! Btw you can "break bread" any day of the week! Breaking bread just means they ate! And if you believe that breaking bread is the Lord's supper, than please keep in mind you can partake of the Lord's supper on any day of the week! Jesus actually instituted the Lord's supper on a Thursday?

abcdefg You are so far from the TRUTH! First of all, the sabbath is not mentioned in the entire book of Romans! It is very clear that this chapter of Romans 14 is speaking about "FASTING" for the Lord! 👉(Romans 14:6) 🤔Why ???? Because the Bible makes it very clear! We cannot make a day holy! We cannot pick what day is sabbath! The Bible says the "The Lord's Day" 👉(Rev.1:10) The 4th commandment says it MUST be the seventh day! 👉(Exodus 20:8-11) ☝️Imagine if everyone could choose their sabbath day? What CONFUSION!!! My God is a God of order! Do you know what would happen if someone was found breaking the 4th commandment under the Mosaic law? They were STONED TO DEATH 💀 for breaking the sabbath day! 👉(Exodus 31:14) How inconsistent would that make God? From stoning sabbath breakers, to now allowing them to pick there own sabbath 🤔???????? ☝️How inconsistent! For I am the LORD, I change not! (Malachi 3:6) I can give a very long list of scriptures that prove God's Holy Sabbath Day MUST be on the 7th day of the week!!! But all you can come up with is a twisted interpretation of Romans 14? According to Bible you need 2 or 3 scriptures/ witnesses to establish any kind of doctrine!!! So can you please prove to me, what day of the week is??????? @abcdefg The thing is that most of the time, you understans the gospel. You are an intelligent fellow and I do have respect for the research you do. The bible is God's holy word. Every part is true. If you make the gospel the center of how you live your life and how you act towards others, please continue sharing the gospel with others. It is only by the sacrifice of the Messiah that we are saved. He alone atones and circumcizes the heart. Ephesians 2:8, Revelation 3:20, Deuteronomy 30:6, Romans 6:23. Historically, the Roman Empire tried to take Christianity and claim it as their own religion. Sunday was the day the Romans worshipped their gods. When our people revolted against Hadrian, the Romans took us captive and required us to observe all their paganism. Then they took Christianity and uprooted everything Jewish and made it their own. This can't be what Paul was talking about in terms of that we are under grace. The answer as to why is found in the bible: Deuteronomy 28:64 - "Then the Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods-gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known. In Deuteronomy 28:64 - 68, God clearly told us what would happen from the time Titus destroyed the temple in 70 AD through the second century. Deuteronomy 32 describes how God would deal with our people for falling away from his instructions. Deuteronomy 32:31 describes how just like our God delivered us to our enemies that their "rock" (idols and gods) is not like our Rock. That verse shows so much meaning not just to the enemies which Israel faced before they entered the promised land. The gods of the Roman Empire represented "rocks" that were not like "The Rock". Furthermore Ezekiel 36:25 - 27 states "25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. God made his promise that we would be cleansed from idolatry as part of Salvation and that his people would be a light to the world so that Salvation reaches the ends of the earth - Isaiah 49:6. So does that mean that us believers in Yeshua (Jesus), who only believe that Salvation is by being saved by grace and not by the works of the law, follow the very thing that caused our people to be captive and that was rooted in worshipping idols? Certainly not. The Sunday Sabbath was rooted in idolatry and invented by the Roman Empire and sustained through the Catholic church. Thr Catholics also teach we must do good deeds to go to heaven. Was it not the blood of the Messiah that redeemed us and the only way? Yet, people encourage us to go to church on Sunday, and celebrate easter and Christmas. In the fourth century and beyond both gentiles and Jews stood against it and were persecuted still. I encourage those same people who encourage believers who go to church on Sunday and celebrate Easter and Christmass to pop open a history book and learn the origins of all three of those days. Then they ought to read 1 Corinthians 10. God warns people not to celebrate anything rooted in paganism. The Roman empire persecuted Christians and then decides in the fourth century under Constantine (who would be Jewish by blood because his mother was a Messianic Jew) to paganize it. The paganism was very dark. So everytime I hear pastors encouraging Christians to go to church on Sunday and celebrate Christmass and easter: this is what they say: lets fellowship together and tell others to take a day of rest and turn a blind eye to history and the fact that all three traditions are rooted in idolatry, antisemitism, and horrible corruption. God did not make a covenant with the Roman empire. So why are we following it? Why do people keep the Sabbath on Sunday?

The law brought death to Adam and Eve. They could not keep it. It brought death to Paul he could not keep it. The Old Testament is proof that Israel could not keep it. The law brings about wrath. Only through obedience to Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit can we be made sanctified before a righteous God. Roman's 8 says: For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. What does this righteousness from Christ produce in us? The fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5 says: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Roman's 5 tells us that grace from God comes from faith in Jesus Christ. It says: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, Galatians 5 tells us that a person falls from grace when they try to be made righteous by keeping the law: You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

As opposed to the blessing, which is grace, the Law is a curse upon all mankind, none of whom can possibly fulfill its requirements. While the Law itself is perfect and holy, those who try to justify themselves before its holy Author bring not His blessing, but His curse upon themselves. The Bible itself tells us what the curse of the Law is: “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’ Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, ‘the righteous will live by faith.’ The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, ‘The man who does these things will live by them.’ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’” (Galatians 3:10-13). What we must understand from this passage is that the curse is not the Law. The curse is the penalty levied for not keeping the Law. The “Book of the Law” refers to the covenant laws that God made with His people during the time of Moses. The Law can point out where we fail and fall short of God’s will, but it cannot pronounce us righteous; that was not its purpose. In Galatians 3 the apostle Paul is telling us that everyone who does not keep the Law perfectly is cursed by it (Deuteronomy 27:26; Galatians 3:10). The reason is that no one can obey the Law perfectly. In fact, there were over 600 laws the Jews had to keep to be right in the eyes of God. The breaking of even one commandment put a person under condemnation. Trying to achieve salvation through obedience to the Law is futile. For example, we all regularly break the first and greatest commandment by failing to love God first with all our hearts, minds and strength (Matthew 22:37-38). As a result, everyone has broken the commandments, and everyone is cursed. The Law demands perfection-an impossibility because we’re all sinful (Romans 3:10, 23). As a result, all who try to live by the Old Law were under a divine curse. But the good news is that Jesus Christ “redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13). Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross when He bore God’s curse. Paul explains how in his letter to the Romans: “God presented [Jesus] as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished-He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time, so as to be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:25-26). The curse of the Law fell on Christ on our behalf so that the righteousness of God could fall on us, though we did not deserve it (2 Corinthians 5:21).

The New Covenant (or New Testament) is the promise that God makes with humanity that He will forgive sin and restore fellowship with those whose hearts are turned toward Him. Jesus Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant, and His death on the cross is the basis of the promise (Luke 22:20). The New Covenant was predicted while the Old Covenant was still in effect-the prophets Moses, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel all allude to the New Covenant. The Old Covenant that God had established with His people required strict obedience to the Mosaic Law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the Law required that Israel perform daily sacrifices in order to atone for sin. But Moses, through whom God established the Old Covenant, also anticipated the New Covenant. In one of his final addresses to the nation of Israel, Moses looks forward to a time when Israel would be given “a heart to understand” (Deuteronomy 29:4, ESV). Moses predicts that Israel would fail in keeping the Old Covenant (verses 22-28), but he then sees a time of restoration (30:1-5). At that time, Moses says, “The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live” (verse 6). The New Covenant involves a total change of heart so that God’s people are naturally pleasing to Him. The prophet Jeremiah also predicted the New Covenant. “‘The day will come,’ says the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. . . . But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,’ says the Lord. ‘I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people’” (Jeremiah 31:31, 33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and to establish the New Covenant between God and His people. The Old Covenant was written in stone, but the New Covenant is written on our hearts. Entering the New Covenant is made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His blood to take away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Luke 22:20relates how Jesus, at the Last Supper, takes the cup and says, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood” (ESV).

Matthew 5:17-20 that right there proves that there is no new law, hes just fulfilling it. The law is here on this earth to do what's good and to prevent us from doing bad things, the law doesn't get us to heaven but if you keep the covenant, you will receive many blessings. Jesus only gave us salvation, a way to talk God through his name, and a way for us to enter heaven. It even says to keep the commandments in revelation. Rev 12:17 and 14:12. And Galatians 3:10 is Paul explaining that the law is a curse because it doesn't get you to heaven but you will be cursed on this earth if you dont keep them but you can still enter heaven if you have Jesus inside you. I'm sorry, but the law still applies.

@abcdefg Lol you are going all out. Your a bad example on how a bible should be used. Your using it out of a debate which the bible should be used as a guideline. Roman's 10:4 that verse is meaning that Christ is the end of the law cause he fulfilled it which means he put that last finishing touch In the commandments and giving it to us to follow if you want to keep being blessed. So if you want to keep trying to prove your point go right ahead. I'm a covenant keeper and I have Jesus inside me. I believe on what the bible says and not what the video says.

There is nobody righteous before God. All alike are under the wrath of God, apart from Jesus Christ. Both Jew and Gentile. Romans 3:9-18 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. 10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one." 13 "Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit"; "The poison of asps is under their lips"; 14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness." 15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not known." 18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

A person cannot be made righteous before God by keeping the Law. That is the plain and simple bible truth. Roman's 3 says as much: What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. 10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one." 13 "Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit"; "The poison of asps is under their lips"; 14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness." 15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not known." 18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes." 19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Righteousness or justification before God only comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 7:4. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. While we were under the law, we could not come into the bonds of the new covenant, - the covenant of grace. But, through the death of Christ, we are dead to the law, and therefore we are set free from the principle and covenant of law, and we have come under the covenant of grace. Romans 7:5. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. Sin is the transgression of the law. Therefore, out of the law, by reason of our corruption, springs sin. And, in our past lives, we did indeed find sin to be very fruitful. It grew very fast in our members, and it brought forth much “fruit unto death.” Romans 7:6. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. No longer is the message to us, “This do, and thou shalt live.” No more are we slaves under bondage; but we have come into a new state, we are free, rejoicing in the glorious liberty of the children of God; and what we now do is done out of a spirit of love, and not of fear. We are not seeking after holiness in order to be saved by it, neither do we seek to escape from sin because we are under any fear of being cast into hell. We have another spirit altogether within us.

The Mark's of a true Christian 1 John 2:9-11 9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 3:10, 14, 15 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 4:7,8 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

And the jews are under a covenant with God. Do you think that gets any of us into heaven? You see the fundemental difference between judaism and religion is this. Religion is all about what we can get from God. Health, wealth, with enough faith perhaps eternal life. Judaism on the other hand is all about what God needs from this world. Judaism is about being selfless. It's about what service we can do for each other. When was the last thing you did something for god, not because it made you feel good, not because it was easy, but for no other reason than.that God told you to do it? I'm not remotely worried about being saved, heaven or hell. None of that is any of my business and I'm supposed to be serving God, not serving myself. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and most of it I recieved without asking. I derive joy from denying materialism and immersing myself in Torah. From doing service for others even if I don't like them. Why would God do anything for me if I haven't earned it? Why would God give me anything if all I do is ask what he can do for me? And why on Earth would God forgive me for praying to him in the name of a man? That's idolatry, I'm not pulling it out of thin air, I invite you to study the laws of idolatry laid out by the Torah before you argue with me over that. Just look at them. I don't expect you to believe them any more than I believe a man can take on another man's sin. Just look at them, and understand they come God. The same God who gave you the 10 Commandments. Do you know what it means to hold no other gods before him? Its not just religious figures. It can be anything. Simply trying visualize God when we pray is idolatry. It heretical to put limits on God. God is not a man that he should lie. Remember that. God is not a man and never will be. Being created in the image of God has nothing to do with physicality and absolutely everything to do with our spiritual image. God is infinite so how can we resemble infinity. It means that he created us with the ability to create. It's something completely unique to mankind and incredibly valuable. No other beings have that ability except for God. Another point I must bring up is why on earth does anybody believe that God changes his mind? He has never changed his mind about anything except for destruction which he promises if we don't repent. He isn't changing his mind, in fact he keeps to his word. If the people don't repent they will be destroyed, if they do they won't be destroyed. Everything else in Torah is positive commandments and he has never changed his mind on those nor will he. Simply suggesting he's infallible and does not forsee the future is heresy and idolatry. I can bear witness to you before the world that God himself said that if somebody tells you the law is changed he is a false prophet and you shall not believe him nor fear him. Let me emphasize that I didn't say that. God said that out loud to the entire world and all of them heard it. If you believe God changed his mind about the laws, you are calling God a liar

Galatians 3:11-18 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith." 12 Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man's covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. 16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Galatians 2:1-10 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me. 6 But from those who seemed to be something--whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man--for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me. 7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter 8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles), 9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

Hope you also remember Paul also did circumcise. (Timothy I think. His mother was Jewish). Can you figure out the difference between circumcision & circumcision? You who want to do the Law do you not read the Law. One circumcision was God given for gentiles to draw near to God.....to worship at the Pesach ( our Passover Lamb is Christ ) The other was a manmade ordinance of Proselytism that said you were saved if you became a Jewish citizen. That procedure was not by faith in God's Way it was called being circumcised & applied to both men & women who agreed to take on the Law of Moses (written Law from God)& the Traditions of Moses (oral Law decrees of men) ) So most Christians miss one Circumcision doesn't separate us from Christ & to be other one does. Blessings.

@@trafficjon400 There is biblical circumcision that Abraham did & then there is the common language of that era that described people in 2 categories. Of the Circumcision or uncircumcised. The first meant to be a Jew. IE considered a member of Jewish society. The other meant to be a gentile & without Salvation. Judaism still insists a person must become a Jew to be saved which is the Proselyte process to become "of the Circumcision". In Christ it is just like Abraham.. faith first. God grants approval & then you do Genesis 26:5 Gen 26:5 KJV Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. "What is the definition of a cult?" Answer: When people hear the word cult, they often think of a group that worships Satan, sacrifices animals, or takes part in evil, bizarre, and pagan rituals. However, in reality, a cult rarely involves such things. In fact, a cult, in the broadest sense of the word, is simply a religious system with particular rites and customs. Usually, though, a cult is more narrowly defined, and the word refers to an unorthodox sect whose members distort the original doctrines of the religion. In a Christian context, the definition of a cult is, specifically, “a religious group that denies one or more of the fundamentals of biblical truth.” A cult is a group that teaches doctrines that, if believed, will cause a person to remain unsaved. A cult claims to be part of a religion, yet it denies essential truth(s) of that religion. Therefore, a Christian cult will deny one or more of the fundamental truths of Christianity while still claiming to be Christian. The two most common teachings of Christian cults are that Jesus was not God and that salvation is not by faith alone. A denial of the deity of Christ results in the view that Jesus’ death was insufficient to pay for our sins. A denial of salvation by faith alone results in the teaching that salvation is achieved by our own works. The apostles dealt with cults in the early years of the church: for example, John addresses the teaching of Gnosticism in 1 John 4:1-3. John’s litmus test for godly doctrine was “Jesus Christ has come in the flesh” (verse 2)-a direct contradiction of the Gnostic heresy (cf. 2 John 1:7). The two most well-known examples of cults today are the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. Both groups claim to be Christian, yet both deny the deity of Christ and salvation by faith alone. Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons believe many things that are in agreement with or similar to what the Bible teaches. However, the fact that they deny the deity of Christ and preach a salvation by works qualifies them as cults. Many Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and members of other cults are moral people who genuinely believe they hold the truth. As Christians, our hope and prayer must be that many people involved in cults will see through the lies and will be drawn to the truth of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

This is a major point I have been trying to get at for quite some time is Romans 8:1 - 4. Can more people please quote scripture? Some people are all over the place. Anyway what this means is we are no longer condemned by the law. This does not mean to disobey God. This does not mean we do not repent of our sin. Instead of trying to things right on our own, Romans 10:3-4 clearly points out that we cannot only be made righteous by God through the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) himself. Matthew 11:29 -30 tells us to take his yoke. Yes, his grace guides. I am pretty sure after reading the bible and getting the whole picture that having grace and taking that yoke is so that we can obey and God can be glorified as the prophet Isaiah wrote in Isaiah 64:6 that our righteousness is as filthy rags. God guides us to obey him and the law is not abolished according to Romans 3:31. Through a Messiah, I obey his commandments. I keep the sabbath as Hebrews 4:4 instructs me to. I follow the passover as Yeshua said do this in remembrance of me in 1 Corinthians 11:24. I follow all of God's commandments for the feasts except the sacrifices as there is not temple in Jerusalem and more importantly the blood of Jesus saves us, not animals. Do you have to keep the feasts to be Christians as in the old testament? Is a legal order required to be saved? NO, READ THROUGH GALATIANS! Should we follow the order of God in the name of the Messiah Jesus -Yes!!! Any day is great to worship God as well. Here is where I am against the practices of "Romanized" Christianity: Paganizing God's hollidays in order to do away qith the old covenant - very bad! While it is great worship God any day, do not declare Sunday the firat day of the week as the sabbath! Do not idolize God and celebrate his resurrection through Easter (the God Ishtar). 1 Corinthians 10 makes it pretty clear not to celebrate the passover by idolatry. The easter ham is historically sacrificed to a Pagan god. You cant eat at the tables of demons and eat at the table of the Lord which is also in 1 Corinthians 10. This is the same thing Aaron did to serve God with a golden calf - Exodus 32. To summarize we are saved only by submitting ourselves to Yeshua confessing him as Adonai Yeshua (The Lord Jesus) Romans 10:9. False Christian Practices however do include: declaring the first day of the week (Sunday) as the sabbath, Paganizing God's holllidays, and declaring that we dont have to repent of our sin. Dont worry, if you dont believe me about the sabbath still being a commandment, read Hebrews 4. Because God will cause everyone to worship God on the sabbath qs it says in Isaiah 66:13 "From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord"

The atonement of sin was burdensome! That burden was taken away by one special sacrifice. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but fulfill it! Our focus shouldn’t be on the law but the act that covers a multitude of sin “Love”! The garden of eden was an example of focussing on sin! The tree of good evil became the focus but was the representation of God wanting man to have free will! Simply put he could have created robots who could be programmed to say “praise the lord”! It’s not the same as having a life form with free will to say “I love you”! God isn’t about control but about freedom!

It's true that the laws were given to the Jews at Mt Sinai, but there are the 7 Noahide laws which were around since the time of the flood and pertain to all Non-Jews. The very first Noahide law is not to worship idols. So christians are violating those commandments as well.

Jesus Christ spends a good portion of John 14 explaining to the apostles that he is God. He then goes onto say that we are to keep his words and his commandments. 15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 "A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Notice in the first verse he says to keep his words. His commandments because he is God and his word has been revealed to us. The law of Moses was given to Israel. The law of Christ is given to those who believe in him. Everything a Christian needs to be a Christian is found in the New Testament. There were many things in the Old Testament that were hidden and then revealed in the NT. It's ok to look back at the OT but it must be understood in light of the fact that the NT is what applies to us. Galatians 6:2 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

The Apostle Paul taught justification by faith. That means we are made righteous before God by faith in Jesus Christ. The bible also says that the law increased sin and made us more aware of it and it also says no one can be righteous by keeping it because in fact nobody can keep it. Only Jesus fulfilled it perfectly and became the completion of the law. [2]For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. [3]But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. [4]For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [5]Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: [6]In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. It is the law of sacrifice, this is why Christ came for Israel first. [15]And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; [16]As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Romans 7------1-6 An Analogy from Marriage 7 1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
