Dimash cannot be classed as a countertenor as he goes freely between bass and soprano. There is no classification for Dimash although he has said that he's just an ordinary tenor.
No doubts and no discussions, in this video there is only one phenomenon, that is the best of the best, the number one,and the one and only, and this great and incredible singer is DIMASH..He's the best in all,in every aspect, from A to Z..He's also the most versatile singer in existence and in history..And Dimash is not just a singer,is the singer for excellence and is everything..Hurricane King Angel Dimash Forever
@@johnojvind7641 Omg and wtf dude with your ridiculous message with your absurd and stupid opinion you make me so laugh..You are very ignorant in music and also a little funny with your joke..Dimash is the singer and the voice for excellence and he's the great master and the one and only on the planet..The Boss King Angel Dimash Forever
No one can be compared to Dimash. Dimash is not all about high notes. We all what Dimash is capable of. All singersin one side and Dimash completely dominant the other side alone.
A classically-trained soprano here 😊 That is not what a countertenor is though. Countertenor is a male voice, a tenor, baritone or even a bass who sings predominantly in head registration, rather than chest register.
They can exist in pop but are uncommon due to the sound required to be one. It is not a voice type but rather simply a descriptor of one’s registration and range they sing in.
Not lying I literally clicked on it cause I saw him everyone in video is so so talented but dimash gets me every time he makes me feel his music which makes it so much better they make me vibe not feel like BTS and dimash just being honest
@@cristinagiurescu3035 It´s not soprano but high thin sharp male notes, You can check another Got Talent act He si from South America and a counter tenor. Search for video Dennis Orellana Troppo il dolore Griselda
I've heard it said that modern countertenors are pop singers who sing mostly in head voice or falsetto, such as Justin Timberlake or The Weeknd. And I think there's something to that
If we take timbre as the main consideration for a countertenor in pop music, we maybe could think about El Debarge, Daley, Tyler Joseph from 21 Pilots... Maybe Adam Levine? Idk... Great video, as always :)
If you talk about "COUNTERTENORS in Pop Music" , Zhou Shen definitely the one you are missing here. He is one of the most popular Male singer in Cpop, I hope you spend some minutes on him or you may feel regret later. I am stopping stunned at two boys I'm sorry I can't process right now. Nothing offensive meant in the least I am so in awe of another life-form that has perfected their art so uniquely.
@@nhemiastrejoDimash is a baritone ! Oh God !!! The vocal type doesn’t depend on how high he can sing, cause there are bass singer who can sing even high whislte up to C7 and above. His voice quality and his deep low notes classify him as a baritone
The only man who sounds good singing in the soprano range is Jeffery Lewis, no discussion needed. And of course Alex Newell, but he's an exception because he's, like, an actual soprano
Respectfully disagree. Listen to Dimash his AvE Maria for example. (which I guess you have not heard). More beautifull and controlled than whatever professional Soprano can sing ❤
Dimash is more a tenor who never lost his high notes than a countertenor. A good example of a countertenor would be Vitas. It’s not the same type of sound.
@@muslimmetalman Yes he does sound like Baritone, it is the register where he does sing with ease, other reigstrer he has to strain more. If he studied classical music more and better and he has to sing unamplified he will sing as a baritone or his voice will collapse from strain.
None of these would ever be classified as a countertenor for the purpose of that it is a fach, not a voice type... Dimash is a Baritone Alex is a Male Soprano Marcelito and everyone are tenors... If they wanted to sing countertenor music, which is OPERA, then sure go ahead, no one is stopping, but none of these would be classified as countertenor.
None of this singers you listed are countertenor lol. Most of them are high tenors with high tessitura, well except for Alex Newell. Alex Newell vocal cords was examined and it was confirmed a soprano vocal cords.
Singing in head tone is required to be a countertenor yes. Singing high comfortably in chest voice just makes you a high tenor, or a male alto or male soprano or whatever
OK, so if they are singing opera they can be called counter tenors, but if they are singing pop they are called high tenors? Making Andrew DeLeon and Greg Pritchard counter tenors even tho their speaking voices are low, and Chris Colfer who has a high speaking voice a high tenor? What about Art Garfunkel? Pavarotti was a tenor. So he would have been a mid range or lower tenor?
Why would you compare him with Dimash.”, they are different Dimash has very big range Deepest vocals tone and highest tone Zhang yu has high vocals he can be compared with these singers
"Counter tenor" There are no counter tenors in pop music because they are all high set Tenors who have practice and training in their higher range. This video is so freaking inaccurate & also Alex Newell is a Male Soprano as his voice has been examined by a Doctor & the doctor confirmed that its a Soprano voice
There are countertenors in pop… countetenor is simply a man who sings mostly in the M2 registration. You have the likes of Sylvester or Phillip Bailey.
This is all falsetto, with a little head voice. I'm a tenor, and I can do most of this. Prior to some illness related vocal issues, I could do almost all of that. Men with higher voices hitting high falsetto is nothing special, or rare at all.
This video is so misleading. High tenor isn't even a formal classification of any kind and NO tenor (in their natural voice, chest and M1-mixed) should sound androgynous or feminine. It's ridiculous that now one needs to go to a voice doctor to 'verify they're anatomically not a tenor' because of this video... just simply close your eyes and if the guy isn't using M2-mode mixed and you can't tell the voice is from a guy just by listening the guy should not be classified as a tenor. Dimash is definitely not a baritone but a tenor. Baritones will never have that quality of C5 nor do they need to incorporate vocal fry into G2-A2. Piet is a tenor with falsetto extension and low extension, his C4-D4 is too thick/heavy for him to be classified as a male alto. Those notes he sang in this clip are definitely not his natural voice. His C5 is already heady as Dimash's F5. In contrary to popular belief Sunyoul sounds like a lyric contra-alto to me in D4-G4 if I don't look. No offense but in certain videos I watched before I though he's a tomboy instead of a guy... Not gonna comment more on Alex Newell, many have said something already. I'm very uncertain about Chris Colfer - definitely matured into a tenor now, but when he was first filming Glee (I think he was 17-18 at that time?) he sounded to me... not like a girl but a boy who just started puberty... so I felt inappropriate to place him into any category, at one point I thought he's an endocrinal castrato like Radu Marian. Castrati singers sing in female range but don't sound like females because of differences in pharyngeal shape. Not familiar with Mitch Grassi either, but just based on this video even though he was singing higher than Chris Colfer I can clearly tell it's from a grown man.
Dimash definitely is not a counter tenor. His highs are pure male with an overstretched larynx resulting in thin low quality sharp highs. If he trained better he eventually would have become a skilled Metal singer. The truth Dimash does not excel in any of registres but is average over all. His tessitura Baritone is where you´ll find his best vocals.
