My long haired Syrian, Fidget, absolutely loved being brushed! I used a toothbrush to get out any knots or bedding that was stuck in his coat, and he would happily sit for me whenever I did :)

Great video! I have two long haired Syrians and one of them HATES being brushed so I don't do it as it stressed him out. He doesn't have the longest fur so it's fine😅. I try to get some of the bedding from his fur out but he doesn't like it lol🐹

Hi Victoria I just got a hamter and she had babies 😂 2 day after I got her it was going very well but then I notices that she still had a baby in her that she could't get out and she sadley past away not even two weeks in 😢. So now im hand feeding 6 baby hamters and it very hard, but your channel helpt me soooo much I just want to tell you thank you, you the best person in the world ❤

Miso is a sassy girl so i bet if i tried brushing her with a soft toothbrush she'd probably be like "I cAn dO iT mYsElF lAdY" 😂 she is fine with me petting her though. I really hate when people put hamsters in water. Like, you can clearly see that they want to get out. Once for my birthday, my classmate got me chinchilla dust for Miso bc SHE used it on HER hamster. I told her that its unsafe and that they need sand. After that i went to petsmart and got some hamster safe sand.

My Hamster was actually a little bit fluffy when I got him, still I brushed him from the beginning. Now he developed a true winter coat which I brush nearly every day. Another fun thing is watching him groom himself, because he often sits under or next to his Waterbottle. I suspect he has to groom soooooo much fur that he wants to have a little drink always available.

my old hamster had such long fur near his back legs so we had to regularly trim it cause piss and crap got clumped up

I only washed my hamster when she was elderly. she had her pee on herself. just a little bit of warm water and a wash clothe. kept her warm while she drying. that’s the ONLY time i bathed her.

my family had a long hair hamster a few years ago named jellybean. he didn’t groom himself very often so we had to comb his fur multiple times a day to keep it from being matted.

We had a Chinese hamster, his name was Lenni, he used to run around in our living room and my dad build him a tunnel system to his cage with tiny floors in it where he slept most of the time. He died at the age of I think 2 1/2 years. But now to the important part, we always used chinchilla sand ...nothing happened luckily, but if I'll ever get a new hamster I will do better research, I didn't know that chinchilla sand could cause harm to the tiny ones 😢

I have a question about sand baths if anyone can help. I have a Russian dwarf and he loves his sand bath ( it’s fairly large, maybe 8in by 8in) but he also uses it as a potty. It’s the only place he goes pee (other than a bit on his wheel). Someone voiced their concern that he is bathing in his bathroom. Should I give him another sand bath and hope he uses one as a bath and the other as a toilet?? Is it ok for his sand to double as a bath and bathroom?? I do clean it every 2 days and add more sand every week to replenish the soiled sand I removed throughout the week. Thanks xx

And a lot of hamsters litter train themselves to use their sand bath! Not all of them do so don’t be expecting it, but that’s exactly what my hamster Cocoa did

A lot of this also applies to rats! Rats also shouldn’t have baths because of the oils on their skin and bc it stresses them out ❤

I keep my dwarf hamsters sand bath under the bedding, i can see her use it in case something happens. Im younger so tell me if i should move it to a more open spot, she seems to really like it and uses it everyday before and after i free roam her.

I read somewhere you shouldn't leave the sand bath in their enclosure because if they use it ever day it can dry their skin out?

Hi i have a question and alot of people told me its normal and maybe even good but im not sure so my hamster has a little warer bowl just like the one in the video and i check it 3 times every day in the morning the evening and before i go to bed (around 2am) but i thought why check it three times a day so i toned it down to in the morning and before bed and i have noticed that her water bowl is always empty in the morning/evening even if i filled it up before going to bed but its always at the same place like i thought maybe she would push the bowl off the platform but she doesnt and i decided to look more now so now i check four times a day and most of the time its just empty and i dont know why i dont believe she drinks it all but the way her toilet looks it wouldnt surprise me but still people told me its good she drinks that much so i just wanted to make sure if it really is good or if i should be worried??

Mme looked exactly like this one but with really long hair and her butt fluff was so big her poop kept getting stuck in it and she’s complaining when is try to comb it out so I got these little batter powered facial hair trimmer ( my husbands 🤣💀) and trimmed her butt fluff to get it all out and so it wouldn’t happen again
