A booster is just only need when your power supply is not enough to feed digital locomotives and accessories. A CS3 with the 60 VA leave out at 3 amps which is enough to feed at least 6-8 digital locomotives or 4-5 locomotives with the wagons full of the LED´s lighting.

Or, if you also use the MS or CS to power your switches, signals, turntables, ect... u could use the booster circuit for the 'on rail current' and the cs or ms to drive switches, signals ect.

Marklin M track woulduse the side connections , that is what the booster hooks up to? I'm thinking that's what they are there for.

The side connections on the old M-track typically are there to supply power to that track portion. So you can indeed hook up a booster to one of those tracks. Before you connect the booster, make sure that the track portion is not powered by anything else. Use an AC voltmeter and test the track, or place a passenger car with interior lights on the track.

What is the difference between the 60045 and 60065 which has more power to the layout? Or is just one older and grey newer black? Or can one get additional power out of the newer black 60045.

The 60045 is newer and technically has a slightly higher power output (60 watts versus 50 watts). I would not think it is worth upgrading to the 60045 if you have the 60065. A booster with second power supply would give you much more.

The principle stays the same. Use enough feeders for a large layout, and consider boosters when running more trains at the same time.

Hallo. Thank you for sharing.. I have a question: My Layout is 320m long and now I have the following items: 1. CS3+ 2. booster 60175 3. 1x Adapter 60101 100VA 4. 1x Adaptee 60xxx 60VA Will it work?

The size of your layout requires multiple feeder points. As the video describes, the amount of trains running will determine if you have enough power. On a sidenote, for H0 Marklin advises to use the 60VA, and for 1-scale the 100VA power supply.
