@@2001emolove Because that song has an explicit slur in it which is an extremely offensive word for a Black person. In English speaking countries a tv program would have to edit that slur out of the song unless the show had a mature rating. Because South Korea has a history of not understanding the weight of this slur and by allowing it to air on a General Audience program, it takes away from how taboo that word is, even inside our own (Black) community. A radio/clean edit wouldn't have interfered in her performance, but it would have shown respect to the Black Community. I personally wish no one would use that slur, but I understand why members of my community attempt to reclaim them. Black artists have the right to use this word because it's our shared trauma. Given the connotations behind the original slur, and the fact that even in this day that slur is still used with its original intent against us all too often, it is a very charged slur. You can't really get more offensive than that word in English. There are Black people that will physically defend themselves at the utterance of that slur (regardless of intent). Who are willing to die and to kill over hearing that word. No matter the usage/context of that slur it is jarring and uncomfortable to hear and took away from my enjoyment of this clip. That's why.
