Easier way to remember Sudan, its basically the Egyptian flag with the green triangle being the fertile banks of the Nile

2:42 I though that as well for a while but the difference is actually not only the aspect ratio but also the order of the colors. Ireland has green, white, orange and Cote d'Ivoire has orange, white, green.

Ireland is often associated with green, so green is first

The Irish flag has the green on the left/hoist; Cote d'Ivoire's flag has the green on the right. Just like Poland has white on top, while Indonesia has red on top. Monaco also has red on top but is much more square. The ones that always trip me up are Romania and Chad. Chad's blue is just a little bit darker, but it's hard to know which one you're looking at if you're not comparing them side by side.

how I remember Ireland and Cote D'Ivoire is that Ireland's has green against the flagpole (emerald isle) and Cote D'Ivoire is gold against the flagpole (bordering what was formerly called the gold coast). Palestine borders Jordan and is the same minus the star. Guatemala is the only one of the blue and white central America flags I remember because of the scroll, no idea how that stuck in my mind though. I still have no idea how to tell apart all of the red, yellow, green other than remembering Senegal and Ghana from Geoguessr. great job!

Great info. I remember Ghana because their football team is nicknamed the "Black Stars". I just noticed Honduras as their stars in an H formation when I did this video too, so that could be helpful.

Chads blue hue is very slightly darker, Ireland has green at the start and Monaco flag is shrunk. I hope that helps!

Good shout. I always assumed Ireland and Cote D'Ivoire were the same but I was wrong!

On Chad v Romania, I may be wrong but as I understand it, the Chadian flag defines its colours less strictly than Romania. So technically, Chad can use a slightly darker blue (and it is generally shown that way) but the same blue as Romania also meets Chad's requirement.

Yeah, I tried to do this one without mistakes, but basically you only have a 25% chance to do that. Indonesia and Monaco are the same, except for ratio, which is not distinquishable unless they are next to eachother. And with Chad and Romania... well they are basically exactly the same. The only difference you sometimes see is that the Chad flag has a slightly darker grade of blue, but that's not distinguishable in this quiz. The rest is determinable. The 3 central american flags have different symbols in the white band, which is a matter of learning which belongs to which. Cote d'Ivoire and Ireland are mirrored, same goes for Mali and Guinea. Poland of course is the Indonesian/Monaco flag flipped upside down. But those are all different. So in the end a 25% chance to get it all right in one go.

Yeah, I think these countries need to have a summit and work out some differences!

As someone from Qatar the first way you say it is sort of how we say it while the second one is how most westerners I have heard say it. So I guess both are correct as long as its not "cutter" which I hear from American a lot.

The "Cutter" pronunciation was popularized in the US during the Gulf War. There was a very prominent reporter who got a lot of air time (I want to say Wolf Blitzer for CNN, but I am not sure) who was based on Qatar are always used "Cutter" and it was included in his sign off so he said it every time he was on air. For quite a while I used that as it was the most authoritative source I had heard. Then I went to University and met a Qatari person and while I don't say it correctly, I started getting a lot closer.
