Nah the runs are still getting tighter as time goes on, it's not as fast as when we moved from CE to Anniversary but there's still stuff being found... Garish is a very consistent runner and it's only a matter of time before new strats comes together with another good run for a new PB to be set...
You're an absolute monster Garish, don't burn yourself out. If you're not enjoying it anymore there's no shame in taking a break or hanging it up for good.
it doesnt have to be PBs on youtube, any run is fun to see (any catagory aswell), and id watch them (i cant watch you live anyway because im from Australia). The reason i watch is because YOU are cool to watch, not just the game or PBs. Anyway, have a good one! :)
These seem like such niche, new world problems. You explained yourself well though and it's really easy to understand where you're coming from. This community understands you, and wants you to be yourself and do whatever you need to do to be happy. Soulsearch away homie
Been here since 2018 I remember when you were saying that you can get 1:10 on legendary I was so hyped. You have amazing content no matter what garish congrats on the success bro
Been watchin for over 5 years, still watching and will keep watching for another 5 or more years! Sometimes i wonder how i can watch someone beat the same game thousands of times but its not the game its your personality and humor and interactions that keep bringing me back! I would watch wether you had WR or not. I appreciate the hard work and time you put into the content for us garish!
Those few months when you were whittling down your record minute by minute was great - I had your stream up all the time at work. I had no idea how effortless you made it look until I booted up MCC and tried to do some of the time achievements and realized just how much effort you put into every part of your runs.
Kinda late to this but always loved your vids man. Me and a friend got into a CE lobby with you like a year ago and lost our minds we were fanboying so hard. Keep doin what you wanna do and best of luck!
I'll never forget waking up on a Covid lockdown Saturday wondering what I can do that day and finding out Garish broke his WR from last week and watching with my dog and some coffee.
No matter what happens man, I and tons of other people will still be watching. The 1:17:25 run was the run that reintroduced me to speedrunning and been following heavily ever since. You've left a very important mark on Halo Speedrunning as it is so everything onwards is just adding to that legacy. Thanks for the all the years of runs and streams!
For what it's worth. i really enjoy watching your speedruns. Your knowledge of Halo CE is unbelievable! I wouldn't mind seeing highlights or PB of other halo game runs.
Sorta like how many NASCAR and F1 racers say they like racing from 2nd and not 1st. There's an active goal to aspire to, rather than hold off the person behind you from passing. It's not that being first isn't great, it's just a bit less interesting when there's no active threat/competition. Hope that's an accurate comparison. Either way I'm glad I get to pop in here and there and be active in chat! It's always a good time :).
I've watched every speed run record and a good amount of streams for years now and I gotta say you're the GOAT of Halo brother- Job well done on a speedrunning career you've brought a shit ton of enjoyment and dank memes to a lot of people- can't wait to see what comes next!
Just stream and play any game you want however you want. You're a legend in the Halo community and records are meant to be broken, you're run that the devs watched will forever be the most famous Halo CE speedrun whether the records beaten or not. If I had a suggestion it would be to find a game you enjoy playing as much as you enjoyed Halo when it came out, it's difficult to do but I think people just want to watch someone having fun playing games on twitch, whether youre great at it or not. Once you've built a following usually the game isn't what keeps them watching, sure in your case with a possible record being set attracts viewers but they stay cuz they like you as a person.
I love your videos Garish Goblin! I understand how speedrunning and competing with urself can get boring! just do whats fun for u we love watching your halo content! Maybe play more multiplayer or do the missions backwards lol
I can say I really like you’re content. And you’re personality is really amazing. And I don’t except anything from you. You’re not my employee 😂 enjoy what you do ❤
I love your speed runs you inspired me to do it my self I speed run in legendary mode too also thanks to garish I learned a few tricks into speed running
Not only have you held the record for years, but you recently dropped the Legendary record a huge distance below the Normal time, with enough margin for it to stick for several months. You didn't just get better times than anyone else, you made it look easy. As far as I'm concerned, you've won. Thank you for the amazing videos. If you decide to move on to other games, I look forward to seeing you absolutely destroy them.
Hey, Gobbo, my man! I just wish you a good luck with the channel, the ideas and, of course, with The Runs! (I watch your twitch streams as "cupcake mouse")
Will you speedrun Halo infinite, and do speedrun all the other Halo games, I would love to see your legendary runs. And can you remake the speedrunning guides once again?
Thanks for making an update vid. I was actually just wondering recently if you were still pursuing CE records… I rewatched your Legendary WR and it’s honestly such a fantastic run (execution + RNG + commentary); It’s one of my all-time favorite speedruns. Definitely not a bad place to leave things at. That said, as a fan, I’d be psyched to see new records 🤣- my only suggestion would be to consider stuff like ILs, LASO, co-op, tutorial vids, multiplayer matches, etc in case you aren’t in the mood for Legendary runs
Nice bro, i mean i watch your speedrun and get motivated to try to beat your time or get closer. having the best time for 6 years is awesome. May you would upload some Matchamaking gameplays, some of your best or Trigger moments xD. also, i would like to watch your Halo 2 walkthrough on legendary cuz it is my fav halo n.n
Glad youre taking a step back and looking with a wide lense bro; the contant need to have the best number is unhealthy. Is it okay to want it? Yeah. Is it okay to have it. Yeah. Is it even okay to pursue it? To a point, also yeah. But hinging your life and mental health on it is terrible, and im glad youre taking steps early to make sure you dont fall in that age old trap
Honestly, I might start trying to speed run and beat the time so you can beat it then lmaooo, maybe speed run H2?, Maybe Speedrun another game, or honestly just have fun and play multiplayer games and stuff, rather way your content is fire, good luck m8 good luck.
I have been wondering about this for a while, especially mulling on that you really don't have anything left to prove and haven't for a while. I thought you would honestly be done at 1:17 WR lol. In any case, I'm glad you are still enjoying streaming Halo, but if you ever did move on I'm sure everyone would understand. And if they don't? Who cares. Take it easy Garish.
Personally I would love to see more general stream highlights, specifically of the laso runs you had in your last rigged video, if you’re into it maybe some achievement hunting vids Also if it’s still speedrunning you want to do but any% is boring, what about other “unofficial” categories? Laso speedruns, zero shot runs, 100%, throw on some skulls like sputnik or whatever and see how that can affect your time Personally I feel like any% really limits runners, because if you care about pb’s it basically just becomes a test of how well can you get micro movements down, which is basically where all of the halo games (minus odst) is right now
I've been messing around a bunch on the Library (on legendary), mostly with the reviving flood, and I was wondering, is it possible to use them to glitch up to the next floor instead of just through the door? I don't know if the player would survive or if the level would load properly after that, but it certainly seems like the level that has the most potential to be cut down with some kind of crazy technique like that (I know you already said you didn't wan to do the carrier bump and such, I'm just wondering if you wanted to see about some other bigger kind of skip).
I can totally see how not having serious competition would lead to a bit of burn out with regards to pushing for WR when you're talking about running the same game for over a decade, and being on top for literally 6 years.
