Winter season is tough! with all the rain, salt, dirt and slush on the road that slings into the underbelly of your car as you drive, it surely will rust if not washed or rinsed on a regular basis. With brakes being down below, it is in close contact with the ground with the elements. To prevent rust from building on these drum brakes that I ordered, I decided to paint them and I'll show you how!. The same idea applies when painting your calipers too with a little bit of modification. Just make sure to use HIGH HEAT PAINT when coating because using regular paint will simply melt away due to the heat created when stopping your vehicle. Having your drums or calipers painted will give your vehicle a better aesthetic compared to having dirty or rusted ones as it can easily be seen just behind your wheels - you decide what color you wanna get though & leave about 15 -20 minutes of curing time between each coat of paint.
..
Materials used:
- High heat paint
- Gloves
- Brake cleaner of your choice
- Paper towel
- Old newspapers or cardboard boxes
