It’s interesting how people have a very romanticized version of people from countries other than their own. In reality not everyone here in the US are handsome and friendly. Again nothing wrong with their answers but the grass is always greener on the other side.
I want to visit Japan. I know the culture, traditions, learning the language everyday. I have British, American born and parents from Mexico. 😊 Had japanese friends which were so friendly and I loved playing soccer.
Great video. Maybe asking Japanese people their thoughts on learning english or how well they speak english? Helpful for a general overview when i visit lol.
there really isnt good reason to immigrating from japan other than possible natural disasters, but disasters happen everywhere in World, if not natural then possibility of war like in europe, or volience in USA with many " wanna be" gangsters there. Islands in general are safe place, i been to many islands, near Africa and Kuba near america, and i can say people are often more well behaved. I think its because they dont emmigrate and keep theyre human bonds really strong, like japanese people do.(culture of being considering of others even strangers) People who dont participate in society often struggle with finding and understanding their own indentity, and right now its the biggest psychological problem in the world. People are not happy because they dont have subconcius purpose for living
European beauty standards dont exist. Human beings have a general idea of attractive traits common across all cultures. Light skin is considered attractive everywhere. White people just fit this attraction the most of all races
I only been speaking Japanese for over 40 years and learned to do that around the age of 20 when I first came to Japan, so I could be wrong, but I don't think Japanese has a tempo. When I first study Japanese, I remember asking our Sensei to correct any mispronunciation we might do. Her response? "Can you pronounce the vowels, a-i-u-e-o?" Me: "Yes, repeating what she said.! Her, "Then you should have no problem with the pronunciation."
This video demonstrates what I have long felt myself - people say the Japanese are really closed off and just friendly to foreigners in the "建前" sense, but in the past years I have met many younger Japanese People (below 40 in average) and they are surprisingly openminded, thoughtful and open to a lot of things....
Basically Japanese men prefer East Asian women or Caucasian women. The same goes for Japanese women, and I'm not particularly interested in Asian men. And Japanese people discriminate against Asians.
@Daenack Dranils Don't trust everything you watch on RU-vid, videos like these talk to a very small sample of the japanese population. Most of them are open to date anyone, its more down to language problems if anything.
The world revolves around the most famous countries, those with the greatest dissemination and worldwide penetration, whether through politics, art, culture, language, economics, sport; so it's natural that they always say USA, England and few european countries. I´m brazilian and italian. Greetings from Brasil!
Yes, but so what. When you go to Japan you can meet people and introduce your country to them, and btw, in the end people care more about how they feel with you, not from what country you are.
I actually have to disagree although I like your comments ideas and all. My point of contrary is so: most of the ~8~ billion people that live are to damn tired hungry poor busy happy healthy or sick to really care what the world's brats are doing. As a generally cataloged refreshing point for globally framing up discourse: irrefutable. I love Brazilians as work associates, great people from my experience.
I've worked as a leader & subordinate with most every ethnic or national origin that distinguishes it's self for geopolitical conduct: what I say of Brazilians or any other highly respected people that I have experienced, is done so with a highly refined experience of austerely enjoying the individualized productions of persons who are made by their Nation.
@@wesleyfortney2339 westernization is a real thing and its pretty obvious , no clue why anyone would disagree with this. even in this video it was made obvious by the recurring cultures that came up. think maybe you took the part ( the world revolves ) the wrong way or something. rich cultures had huge influence on the rest of the world over the years, especially Britain / France and lately the Usa. France is a big one it kinda changed the entire planet overnight with the revolution.
there is a phenomenon in japan before called paris syndrome where japanese who went back from paris go insane because it shatters their dream image of the place. recently white men popularity are dwindling here in Japan. Thanks to the internet they are now expose to reality becaue their local tv are all BS and only shows beautiful places and people
I still think asian guys have it easier though compared to white guys. Because when it comes to asian guys, they actually will one to marry one. But when comes to white guys, they only wanna date for fun, but when it comes to marriage, they will imeediatly run away go back to asian guys.
I have lived in Japan for about 6 years and had many friends. I asked them the same thing, and the answers were interesting. Japanese people like foreigners who are "white-skinned", "tall", "blonde"(most of the time), "blue eyed" people (white people to be direct). Goes for both men and women. But it's not because they are racist or something, but because lighter skin is considered to be more beautiful and it's ingrained in their culture. That is the reason why rebels (yankees and gyarus as they call them) tan their skin to go against the culture. So if you guys think Japanese people would like to date you, it would be only if you are white. They say they are not very attracted to other darker skinned races (my friends at least).
@@sonny9511 Are you speaking from experience? As far as I've seen, and even my co-worker said that she wanted a rugged handsome person. I've literally never seen or heard anyone date a "bishounen" type while I was there, and I've tried in the whole dating scene there, so I know.
It is funny how it is different between if you ask business people or people on streets and also different regions. If you ask people in Europe, no one would tell they want to date someone from America, England or France, but in Japan they seem quiet popular. I was working in some japanese companies and there germans were quiet popular for being hard working and honest, but guess they do not make good lovers, if you ask Japanees on street 🤣
The Japanese people I've known and witnessed, are a friendly and respectful class of people. The men are handsome, the women are beautiful. The culture basis is hard work, respect, and honor. I feel that many areas in the world have forgone these concepts, It's a shame. If I had an opportunity, I would relocate to Japan, and immerse myself in their wonderful culture.
Basically Japanese men prefer East Asian women or Caucasian women. The same goes for Japanese women, and I'm not particularly interested in Asian men. And Japanese people discriminate against Asians.
It's a double edge sword. I keep seeing projections of Japan's future ultimately suffering by how seriously they take their morals. The low birth rate, low marriage rate, people leaving Japan, overworked society, etc. It's mostly a result of the low quality of life for the younger generation there. Change will need to happen eventually, but due to the hierarchical system they abide by, the change will need to go through the people that are benefitting most out of how it's currently set up (older generations). I still can't wait to visit Japan though haha.
seven reasons why japanese people doesn't make good friends at all, why none/few of them are trustworthy in fact: firstly, they make no effort to speak other languages and anyway when we try to speak Japanese, they make fun of our accents and they don't forgive bad pronunciations Second, they refuse to show their feelings, even if we are polite, kind and respectful. just because they refuse to put us in their friendship circle for some reason (actually it's only when they're drunk, it's shameful) third, they like to criticize others behind their backs. they judge you without knowing you, they don't give us a chance. they don't tell about our mistakes, how can we improve. fourth, they feel a non-human need to have many close boyfriends for selfish reasons. Fifth, they treat foreigners like walking dictionaries/wallets sixth, even though they have many cultural flaws and assume bad things about foreigners, they still fear being criticized by them for some reason, while we do it for a reason. Seventh, they easily judge by our appearance when it's not our fault we are built like that "buuuuh tall or older foreigners = bad people because we live on an island" I love Japan, for what it has naturally, but I don't understand why its people are so well regarded around the world. don't bother me with disingenuous comments like "there are people like them all over the world"
Japan is the country that I'd like to visit the most. The food, culture, friendliness and openness to people in general especially foreigners is something I really love to see. I love seeing videos showing this positive view of other people of the world. Love is love no matter where you come from.
@@MaximSupernov A Japanese would put on a smile and act shy, but deep down they're more annoyed. A Southeast Asian would put on a genuine smile and act bubbly, but deep down they're actually shy.
As a foreigner, I think it would be really interesting to meet Japanese people, even just hanging out a couple of times. The only difficulty I see is language, however I hope to get to know someone when I visit Japan next year!
Always interesting. The term "yellow fever" is rampant in the West. And I understand it as a fan of much of Japanese culture. Being an older man at 38+ I remember a time when enjoying a Japanese anime was ridiculed. It's not as much anymore. However, while it's more openly accepted it's still viewed as "you're over 30 and watching cartoons??!?!". To meet a partner that wouldn't come in with preconceived notions about you and your hobbies is a splendid idea. Furthermore, most Westerners to understand the cultural difference and language barrier. It's like the ones that go to Japan and are shocked when their lack of knowledge of the Japanese language hinders them throughout their travels. I've been to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. You have barriers and how you handle them will determine how far you are able to go. And yes, as in the West a Japanese person may use you just like any Western person. Unsavory people exist everywhere. My attraction to Asian women in general is the fact that most are more family oriented and many hold more traditional values that have eroded in the US. Nearly non-existent. That said, don't just jump to chase immediately. I'd personally enjoy more traveling the country to see the culture, learn the history, taste the cuisines, and meet interesting people. Just paying off personal debts so no travel right now for me.
Nobody thinking about Italy. It's very sad T_T Also: "From what country would you like to marry?" "America" (so USA, 90% times) "Why?" "Gentlemanly" Me, knowing about all the weapons and the shootings there are in USA: T____T Oh, sweet summer child... (Ok, wait. I'm joking^^ Don't choke me, please. I know, not everybody is in that way, in USA^^ ...But still, 75% of the news we get from USA are about shootings. So it's still not a so good situation, unfortunatelly T_T)
Dont think that small man. USA is country bigger by x times that your and mine country. So many people there, so many movies and music too. Its normal that its the most known country in the world, and its been created by europeans.
because thats what sells papers and views. no one cares about charitable acts. something like a kid saving a puppy from a stream may get some screen time, but itll be forgotten the next day. tragedy sells.
Of course the people shooting other people aren't in the gentlemanly portion of the population. Using some miniscule portion of the population who shoot people as a means to evaluate the 99.99% who aren't shooting people is illogical. Also I think most if marrying someone from the US would rather live in Japan for a number of reasons. In an interview like this they have to think of an answer and certain countries are just more top of mind and likely to be mentioned. I'm sure gentlemanly Italians (or numerous other places) are in great shape even if they don't explicitly say it. I live in the US and I know my odds of being shot are incredibly low (in spite of hearing about US gun violence way more often than someone from Italy would). I would move if that wasn't the case. Excluding suicides the vast majority of shootings involve very specific parties who have found a reason to hate each other and are willing to kill. That leaves a random shooting in my case (as is the case for the vast majority of the population) as a possibility and the odds of that are incredibly low.
@@Alex-hv8rj It is the first step. The longer you live in Japan, the more you understand. You think knowing Japanese would fix all the issues? It is not the case.
Great job on the video, really interesting to see how naturally multicultural individuals are about dating & marriage. I love how well formed the answers are, even when the questions are completely unexpected. I love how Japanese women are in this video, really alluring romantically for me personally. There is a dignity and innocence, that is irrefutable, that matches with Japanese women's Beauty. When I've been associated with Asian women, I'm usually having to keep reminding myself to keep my own composure, things like: closing my mouth & not staring or other generally ridiculous stuff that men deal with when taken in romantic fancy towards a woman. Sorta beyond ridiculous as a grown man that my legs get weak for y'all.
Foreigners = North American or European. Where are Indian, African and Chinese? It's typical stereotypes like France is equivalent to romantic and elegant 😅
I'm American and have always wanted to date a Japanese girl. The culture in Japan is much more respectful than here in the US, in my opinion. Japanese girls are really cute, too. Great video!
つまり、一般的な話しで白人です。例えば: アメリカ人、イギリス人、フランス人、ロシア人😂 Bilingual Guy here. But most Japanese love white people in general. I don't know about other races who have lived in those countries.
Glad they're open to relationships outside of Japan because all of those women are gorgeous. Friendly people too. I was able to meet a few people from Japan in college.
The reason for dating in Japan is completely off the mark. You ask them if they would date a foreigner and they say yes but then you ask if they would marry and they are not sure. The point of dating is to marry! It seems Japanese culture treats dating as a means to grow themselves and not to deepen a relationship with someone towards marriage. It's actually a very selfish approach.
The point of dating is dating, not marriage, you can be in love with someone for the rest of your life and never get married or desire marriage. There are many people who don’t care about marriage because it is not necessary for love. I feel like you’re the selfish one as you’re being small minded and saying “the point of dating is for marriage”… To you sure but you can’t tell someone else what the point of dating is.
@@ProjectMoff I'd say you want to eat cake without the calories. Incomplete action. Why do you think so many women are upset when their boyfriends don't propose after so long? You date someone to get to know them, but with the intention of marriage. I suppose some people use dating differently than its purpose, but that doesn't mean the purpose of dating has changed. Some people throw up their food after eating a delicious steak because they just wanted the taste. That's like saying I'm being small minded by saying people eat for sustenance. Sure, obviously the act of eating can be abused but it doesn't mean the ultimate purpose of eating isn't for sustenance.
Japanese are great people I feel like American people like myself can learn a lot from Japanese people we as Americans have became stupid arrogant and untrustworthy and Japanese women are make great choice for a wife and the difference between American women and Japanese women is American like to test men tease them emotionally amd not get to know them ot is always tests with American women amd that is the annoying thing about American women and now Japanese women give the guy a chance to win them over instead of giving men tests like American women and I love Japanese women they are kind and open minded and loving than American women and also the best part about Japanese women is they don't age poorly and don't get fat like American women and that has always disgusted me to every Japanese woman of Japan 🇯🇵 I love you
I think the idea of Europeans we have in the US is very different than what they have in Japan. British guys in the US are usually pictured as big fat guys who drink too much beer and scream at the football match on TV. French guys just like being sad and smoking. German guys only like math, beer, and complaining about their politicians.
@THE REAL JAPAN I really like learning about Japanese culture. I think I have been learning about it for about 8 years now. I am really happy to have found your channel. I also appreciate the time you put into your subtitles. I know it takes a lot of time to translate and type out subtitles in both languages. As a Japanese learner it helps me understand better.
They say mostly America and England because they have no clue what people from other countries are like, and they probably dont realize that most people from other countries also have English as their second or third language.
@@ii4826 agreed. I just go into these videos to see comments 😂. White People and Black People looking at these videos with dillusional thoughts about how all Asians like Whites and all Whites like Blacks. It's just far from the truth.
funny thing is they are saying dating but not marriage because japanese prefer to marry their fellow japanese or other asians. the opening girl seems just being "polite" for the sake of interview you can see in her eyes she is not telling the truth. there are still some japanese that willing to marry foreigners but only handful like 1 in every 70 or 80. the most popular foreigners here in japan for marriage based on statistic are koreans followed by chinese then asian american then brazil.
@@Pruflas-Watts hahaha wrong even if a white guy can speak ペラペラ日本語 chinese and korean are still more in demand🤣 the list followe3d by asian american brazilian etc it is based on recent research 🤣 Japan doesn't care for other asian but they care about their status and apperance marrying a white guy has a bad stigma here in japan that many japanese women are avoding it 🤣 and what caliber are you saying? that they can only speak japanese? 🤣if a white person and a chinese person working in the same postion the japanese woman would pick the chinese man most of the time 🤣 white men are not really popular here DEAL WITH IT

Damn I'm so unlucky jeez finding a Japanese woman that will date is super difficult 😕 lol considering I'm British I think I just have to continue trying until I do find the one
I’m part German/Filipino raised in America, and it definitely gives you a different perspective of someone else’s culture (I’ve dated women of Mexican, German, Irish, Croatian, and even Pakistani origins no Filipino’s though 🤷🏻♂️ --> TBH, I’m attracted to all ethnicities primarily Asian, Middle Eastern, and European descent)…
I would definitely like to date a Japanese Women I think Japanese women are beautiful...I love the old culture of Japan and Japan is a place I still hope to visit one day.
Its interesting to see the same answers over and over. Like, it seems they are really into English speaking countries but their cultures are so different from Japanese culture. Out of all the videos I watched so far about Japan and their preferences, no one mentioned Turkic countries (which has very similar cultural things).
Because you’re not getting the real answers. You are only getting the answers from people that decided they want to be interviewed. The majority of Japanese people who date out of their ethnicity date other asian but you never see those answers in these videos other than like Korean occasionally.
Much like westerners don't know what Japan really is like if they've never been there, Japanese people won't know what they West is like if they've never been there. They all listed the US, the UK, France, and Russia, because that's all they've heard about, but I'll bet you any time that they only have a vague idea of what these countries are really like, and most importantly, they probably don't know much about their respective cultures and mix everything together. Like, you know, cowboys in Europe and knight battles in the US. Stuff like that. I mean, the Eiffel tower should be in Paris no matter who's being interviewed, and Paris should be in France in most cases, but don't ask them to locate France on a map, or who was the most famous French cowboy in history. Obviously they're curious, which is a good thing, but asking them what Western country they're interested in is like asking random people in the west which Japanese city they'd like to visit. They'll just list out all the cities that they've heard the name of: Tokyo and Kyoto, most likely, without having any idea what they're like and how different they are. Hell they might even include Beijing in the list. Know what I mean? It's called ignorance and it's what invariably always comes before knowledge. No judgement there. It's just that them listing these 4 countries, and only these 4 countries, together like they're the same, is as textbook as it gets.
@@Pruflas-Watts Im not wrong. Statistics don’t lie. I’m also not asian, so how would my feelings be hurt🌝 I’m living in Japan too bro, you’re not cool. And if you’re white, of course the type of Japanese people that you hang around are going to be into White people🤷♂️
@@fionafornarina I have heard them say it more than once in videos like this so it doesn’t matter if you don’t think they we admit something like that. Also it has nothing to do with the point I was making
I find it interesting that in non of these types of videos from various channels the interviewed persons consider people from the Netherlands because they are tall. 😅 (myself being an exception to that as a 1m68 tall Dutch male 😢)
That's surprising for me to hear considering the things i've sometimes heard what japanese think of us. But i'm also happy and jealous of the americans and french people since they seem to have the biggest chance in dating a japanese
@@EmmanuelMorningstar-fg1qb Everyone has their preferences. I personally prefer Japanese woman over European ones, despite being European myself. I think they're more attractive.
