Though I am never buying an iPad keyboard from Apple again (I have a Logitech keyboard with 3 device buttons), I appreciate your video, because this is exactly the way I use my Mac and iPad. And I love it.
Outstanding video. To me, both devices, along with the iPhone, complement each other. There might be people that an iPad is all they need, but I am not one of them. My 2017 MacBook Pro is always next to me while watching TV. My iPad is with me in the morning when I am in my yard watching RU-vid while drinking coffee and a cigar. My M1 Mac Mini has a 34-inch monitor when I am working. I have a 2012 iMac, which I write my papers for my master's degree (once I retired, I decided to go back to college because I was bored 😂). I have three Windows PCs for gaming (old games). And finally, I have a few mini-PCs running Linux. All my devices complement each other. Stay safe 🙏
Thank you!✨ Yup, no shade to anyone who wants to do "iPad only" but I like using different devices for different purposes because they all have their strength!
An Ipad in combo with a macbook ist the ultimate workflow. I use my ipad on 1 external and my macbook on an other external by just using 1 mouse and a keyboard. You bring it on the point with your video. keep going on with your vids
thank you thank you thank you. I've been looking for more vids where we can use Macbooks WITH iPads. In my daily workflow as a small business owner, I use both! I'm a mountain guide and I hike with an iPad Pro in my backpack AND a MacBook Air. Definitely overkill, but I love how they work together. I can do so much more with both. ...I take pics and edit pics on the spot for clients with an 11inch pro, I work on trip itineraries and trip research between waterfall hikes at coffee shop on my M1 Air...then I back to the trails with my iPad to check in clients, show them maps of where we are, etc. makes the hike more interactive when we start out with visuals. I tried so hard to only use one device, but I've accepted that both is where it's at for me. Can you do another video about daily workflows between iPad and MacBook and the best apps/times to use each device? People like me want to integrate them, not choose between them
That’s so cool! Showing someone else on the screen is better on iPad for sure! Love these use cases. Would love to do another video, but seems like your way of switching is perfect already!
Thank you for this video 😊😊 I’m planning to get an iPad and Mac duo.. but I’m not sure which one to get?? I’m planning on using my iPad for note taking, games, and media consumption, however I’m not sure if the 120HZ really affects me as I have a 15 Pro Max too..but anyways, so I’m thinking of the Pro 13”, and then The Air 15”? What do you think?
This was awesome! Love the way apple's operating systems can complement each other if we are not pitting them against one another. What size iPad Pro are you using? Seems like it's the 13? For your workflow and use, do you think the 11 smaller one would also be easy to navigate and multitask effectively with?
I'm so glad you liked it! I usually use the 13in M4 iPad Pro for productivity stuff (taking notes, editing etc) and also have an 11in that I mainly use for media consumption. I personally like having a bigger screen. It's not impossible to do with 11in, but I would feel like the UI and everything is crammed and same with multitask.
Can an SSD drive be used to work on Davinci directly from that? (without any cloud storage)Or is Davinci copying a file into the Resolve on i pad file section folder when a video file is imported from the SSD? We have extensive files; in the desktop version, we can use any hard drive to have more space and use them directly and work.
I disagree. I want a $2000 (nano) device to cater for writing and my needs when using a laptop on the go. Personally, I would rather not spend money on 2 separate expensive devices. Especially when M4 chip and 16GB ram is on an iPad “Pro”
I do sometimes feel the limitations of iPadOS like only being able to download apps from the app store etc. maybe a more sophisticated sidecar that allows you to connect to the Mac remotely might be a cool solution where both os is readily accessible that you can toggle between is my real dream situation.
@@YukaOhishi you know that MS Surface and MS Laptops had touch screens for ages right ? ;) I miss a touch screen on my macbook .... I kinda have a love hate relationship with the Mac - def thinking of an Ipad Pro just for DVR editing !
Many of us just want to use an iPad Pro as our only computer because of its form factor and versatility. And since the recent iPads all have the same processor as the Macs, is it really too much to ask for an iPad that caters to a large number of professionals who aren’t just limited to video editing, creating music, and drawing? With these improvements, users wouldn't have to lug around two computers. It’s about time Apple steps up and addresses the real needs of its customers!
I wanted to make this video because I heard about a data point that most iPad users own a Mac, and there were a lot of talk around "iPads should have MacOS" recently. What do you think is missing for the iPad to cater to professionals that are not doing those creative tasks? For documents and emails etc, I think it has been more than capable to be the only device for a while now.
