This is a clip from the 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' comedy series in which David Jason and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band headline, plus the series directly preceded and inspired Monty Python.
You can see in a mid 70s documentary about his day to day that he continued to do this until after the bonzos broke up too. I think he found a lot of inspiration in their quirks
I'm one blessed American that saw them 'live'........they were fantastic...... and had partied with them. I had a mishap and spilled my glass of red wine on the sleeve of Vivian's suede jacket. He didn't notice so I slipped away to join other party goers. I know it's too late but Sorry Viv. ❤
Vivian is just a character. Like paul. Both played by billy shears. Or at least the paul we know today. The original paul is john halliday. Pretty sure multiple people played vivian too.
Yes it is. He was on Do Not Adjust Your Set. Viv Stanshall played a song every week on the show. Some of the Monty Python team started on this show too.
Are we certain this is not Harry Nilsson playing Viv Stanshall? He was naturally blonde and around back then. Compare this video to Harry Nilsson's song video (see link below) below. The comparison is uncanny. Harry had a beautiful voice and he knew the Beatles and there's a picture of him with Billy, so he had definitely met Billy. I don't know the exact dates. Usually when Billy and the other guy he hired (more long term) played Vivian Shanshall, they played him with red hair and beard. Tell me what you think. The camera does a close up at around the 1:28 mark, so you can really see the resemblance. Also, notice Harry's movements at the end of the song. He could easily play the prissy type movements of the Viv Stanshall character. Also notice the woman who introduces Harry in the video clip (link below) in another language, actually says the words, "Paul McCartney" when she introduces him. If you speak this language, tell us what she said about Paul McCartney. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9kznTMxOsxo.html
@@Juan-wo7zu : nO bULLSHIT jUAN. I do not blame you for your reply, for I had the same reaction until I found out the truth. So, if your interested in the truth...do some research and get back to me. Take care.
I’d like you to do a video about John Lennon singing on the song “Band on the Run” during a period when we’re led to believe they hated one another. I’ve yet to see anyone ever mention this.
