I can see why. It strikes a cord deep within me because no matter how much I may think I've let go, I have the feeling I haven't even began. Lord have mercy ☦️🙏
this is the essential core of christianity that all too often gets buried in the race to gain adherents. If you aren't ready for this message, you are only seeking happiness on earth and not the salvation of mankind and coming together. The ego is something to be shed.
@@SarahBaer-wd7iqtwo bulls fighting over a female are exhibiting ego. The ego is animal. If you believe God gave you ego, then he also gave you canine teeth. God didn't give you canine teeth to bite other people, and God didn't give you an ego to let that run wild either. I don't see it written anywhere that God made you perfect the way you are; quite the opposite. Personally, I don't think God gave you an ego, or teeth or anything else like that. My personal view is that Man being created in the image of God means that man participates in pure Mind, unlike an animal. Man is still chained to his earthly animal nature, evolution is real (although it doesn't explain Creation or the advent of life on earth), and humans are animals. They simply aren't "just" animals. Humans have ego, but humans have Mind. Your ego is just the sum of your desires, self-justifying themselves. Your Mind is bigger than that, because Mind isn't just synapses in the brain. Mind isn't limited to the Self. But if you don't agree with me because you do believe God gave you ego, or you don't believe in evolution because you are a Biblical literalist, then feel free to point out the cases where ego turned out well for anyone in the Bible. Usually the lesson is the opposite; if you work for your ego as opposed to the greater good or the will of God, you are headed for trouble. Your will, your ego, are supposed to be penatant before God's will.
I certainly do not love this world. It makes me very angry every day and always has. The materialism, the racist hatred, the lying, the fakeness, the financial greed, the personal selfishness, the entitlement, the uncaring for those less fortunate.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME TO OVERCOME BONDAGE OF HOMOSEXUALITY I REPENT AND CRY OUT TO GOD EVERYDAY ITS VERY VERY HARD BUT IM STAYING STRONG, WHEN I WAS A CHILD TERRIBLE INCIDENTS HAPPENED MOST LIKELY I HAVE THIS BECAUSE OF THIS, HOWEVER I WILL ALWAYS STILL LOVE JESUS😭❤️ I must and will stay strong!!!!! There is NO way I will surrender to the broad gate!!!!
Keep struggling and it will become tolerable in time .. and pray for those who are in the same situation as yourself .. it is extremely hard I agree . I suffer from the spirit of fornication. I'm straight. But I completely understand you. You were born with this or developed. In either case it is hard I know cos I developed it through my ignorance. I respect your sincerity. I will pray for you and for those who are suffering from other torments , be it spiritual or physical. We should all pray for eachother as Christ and his Apostles Instructs us .. this age of our time is full of temptations and we should avoid unwanted temptations. As much as it is possible .. It is really a pain to hear and see how much of suffering people has to grow through but this is the only way as I experienced since we are weak and inclined towards sin. The remedy is bitter. But keep struggling and God will show his infinitely long suffering compassion on you and we pray that he will have mercy on us also .. , it is taken by force . The kingdom of Heaven.. as far as I know God looks the intention of our heart .. so never give up
Have you tried using the Jesus prayer upon the start of each temptation to help you resist all forms of sexual temptation and evil desires in your heart. The Jesus Prayer over and over is what prescribed to me by my priest after confessing the same type of bondage and it will help. It retrains you heart which retrains your brain to not hear satan’s temptations, but rather Christ’s will, and it is freeing. You do not need to be Orthodox to use this prayer, talking to a priest can help too. PM me even. God Bless.
@KardonSpeaker12 the fact that you even said this shows you amazing strength and don't forget, God won't give you somethin you can't handle. May God bless you and be with you during this time:)
Father Spyridon. This was a perfect speech and a perfected time to speak about these things. I read your book called Orthodoxy and The Kingdom of Satan. And everything is happening very quickly what you wrote there and proved. Constantine Zalalas , Hieromonk Kosmas , speaks about all those things what you have just written down there in your book . Everything points perfectly to end times . Thank you . And I hope we will have enough time to hear about a new book of your works. Your speeches on RU-vid are treasures. Very encouraging. You help really a lot of people.. thank God we still have true Orthodox priests and monks ..
@Richard Eastern Orthodoxy You really should read Nicodim Măndiță books, are verry important for christian ortodox people and humans in general! Trust me!
I came upon this video immediately after failing & falling in the face of temptation. I must take this video's message to heart. I must turn from temptation & sin & welcome Christ as He comes in humility so that I may be prepared for when He comes in glory. Thank you for this reminder & for your ministry, Father. God bless you.
If you're struggling with temptations of pornography, start praying the Rosary every day. The grace it draws down will weaken the temptations to the point where, when they do come, you can resist them with little effort. Speaking from experience. Also, avoid the occasions of sin and keep watch of the image that arise in your mind. That's were it all begins. Don't consent to impure thoughts, just turn them away and you won't have a problem.
@@lukebrasting5108 Thanks for the advice. It's the advice I keep getting and I'm trying. As others have told me, either you'll cease the sin or you'll cease praying the rosary. I'm hoping for the former.
Things like talking about the end times used to scare me. I realize now it's something that must happen, this world isn't the one I grew up in and it changes so rapidly now that it makes me feel old. There are things that are toted as " the new normal" that leave me feeling very uneasy. Thank you for the video, as ever you cut right to the heart of things without using fear to do it. Please pray for me and my family. God bless you sir.
Every time I hear one of these videos, it's like drinking in a big cup of warm milk. These videos bring me such immense peace and the knowledge within them serve to make my day. God bless you, father.
Amen. I hope you're okay, wherever you are now. May you take care of yourself, and others, as much as you can. God Bless you. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy upon us, sinners.
@@Itsatz0 191 people agree with the Christian, seems like no one agrees with you however. Maybe you should rethink your stance on these things you speak of.

My mother & I typed this to each other today via FB chat & then this showed up on my YT feed - & I’ve never heard of him! I am Orthodox, & so I thank The Lord for this wise man coming into my life.
Praying to Mary is is being disobedient to God, it is clearly commanded not to pray to the dead or to bow and worship any heaven image, unfortunately this is what Catholics and orthodox do. This is heresy, follow the Bible and not what a priests tells you, priests will tell you what suits them, he ever mentioned in this video how the church disobeys God with the teachings and practices, I wonder why?
@@christos8418 I agree with what you said about not deifying the dead with prayer, but do not forget to pray FOR our brothers in purgatory undergoing purification as the book of Maccabes mentions And the Churches do not pray to Saints and Mary for blessings from them, they ask them to do them a favor and speak to God alongside them, there's a difference there. Your words attacking priesthoods reek of the same divisive purity spiraling illness that infected the protestant reformation and put much of the world in a weakened, less Godly state. No protestant nation has effectively kept its people under God's protection and you dishonor the Churches' histories of defending us at their own expense. We are each other's guardians, each other's keepers, and you shame yourself when you speak ill of those trying to bless and save their fellow man

Али онда, окружен обезбоженим људима, понесем се темама и делима овог палог света, и паднем. Изгубим и оно мало благодати коју ми је Господ даривао, и у мом срцу се опет угаси пламен, а зацари се туга. И тако укруг.
I'm actually reading your book 'orthodoxy and the kingdom of satan'. Wonderful book, you put words and structure on things I have observed for so many years. God bless you Father
@David Shuffett Thanks for your comment brother David. Now, my response (if you interact, you should be prepared to a response no?): In your one short comment you assume two things : First, that I don't read the Bible ('try reading...') and second you're insulting a brother you don't know ('buffoons like him')... Is this comment really have been led by the Holy Spirit or a spirit of anger? I'm not gonna answer the question, maybe you can. God loves you, God bless you.
Saint Cosmas of Aetolia: “Everything can been taken away from you. Everything can be asked and been received. Give them, don't be afraid. Only Christ and Soul is what you need. Those two, don't give them away. Even if the whole world falls upon you to take it from you, don't give it to them, because only with your will they can take it from you". 🙏☦
Your Godly wisdom is so good to hear, especially as much of the world seems to have turned their backs to God and the truth. Keep those wonderful words of wisdom coming Father. They are truly a blessing to all who listen!
Fr. I must ask sincerely. I struggle with addiction & habitual sin. I pray for help. As the gospel directs bur still fail. I beleive in Micah it says & this is not a quote set before man is fire& water , life & death to whichever reach out your hand we have free choice. Do I fail in overcoming due to following free will? If so why should I knock, seek, & ask if it's all up to me? I am asking sincerely as a believer who seeks freedom from sin.
I'm a Roman Catholic, but I've watched some of your videos. I found it interesting their is a church in Antartica, its just incredible to me when I first saw the video.
@@glendamcgee1779 i dont think Pope Francis thinks himself infallible..indeed recently he has called on Christians to pray for him as he is being tested & feels under demonic attack. He calls on the world to have love & compassion for each other.
Well said Father Spyridon. Absolutely correct if we are followers of Christ we cannot be friends with the world neither should we be afraid. We are now in the beginning of sorrows. There will be difficult times ahead. However, with Christ’s grace we can overcome all obstacles as He has overcome the world. Χριστός Ανέστη.
I'm about halfway through Fr. Spyridon's Orthodoxy and the Kingdom of Satan. Interesting read. Although, it was slightly jarring at first to see him discussing such worldly matters in detail. Fr. Spyirdon, would you go onto any podcasts? You'd be a good guest for, say, Tim Kelly's Our Interesting Times.
tim kelly would be perfect. because mostly traditional catholics discuss such matterss on his podcast. a fully orthodox view would be very much appreciated.
Tim Kelly had, and has regularly, Orthodox guests like James Perloff and Jay Dyer on his podcast. Great podcast! Tim is such a knowledgeable and gracious host.
You don't have to be religious.. that has nothing to do with this message... It's all about having faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..... If you want to feel even better than this message pick up the Orthodox Christian study Bible.. there you will find your answers

He might be of a denomination that I do not agree with but he makes a fantastic Biblical argument! Good work! Actually I don't agree with ANY denomination! Christ is Lord!
I suddenly woke up. Dont buy thing.dont eat too much. Lent is good thing.dont watch tv. No phone. Dont need conversation. I meditate. And enjoy silence. I completely wipe out obstables to narrow gate.
Well I guess you can really think of it that way, lol. It's just that this is the hardest main quest that you completely forgot about as you ignored it in search of more easy side quests. But this is the best one.
Fast.... dont watch tv, stay off the internet, pray the rosary as much as you can and read the bible. Get rid your “i want” s The fasting with the rosary will get rid of the demonic oppression you feel in your senses. Takes time. Use holy water exorcised salt and oil often. Read Saint John of the cross and read about Medjugorje. Beg Jesus to consecrate you to Blessed Mother. Ask St Michael for help. Ill pray for you :) It is possible. The more you learn to deny what you really want... the better off you will do at staying in prayer and keeping your soul in heaven. Amen
May you hear the word of god our father 🙏🏾 this was such an eye opener, I wasn’t even planning to listen to the word god today this has really opened my eyes thank you❤️
Hello Father. Thank you for the video. I am young woman that struggles with being humble.I have a rebellious heart. What can I do? Another question is that how can one learn to give God their full heart when they are scared of doing it? For example After going through heart break from family and friends.
My unlearned, naive thoughts... the trees, the fields, the animals, birds, the flowers and mountains and everything that God created are good, and godly. The sin and corruption come with many creations of man. Not all, of course, but many. And what I consider 'worldly' things like money, expensive homes, vehicles, clothing. Always wanting more and bigger and better. Always lusting after things that have more worldly value. But those creations of God have a value far beyond anything man can create.
Father, I find your posts uplifting and a pleasure to listen to. As a christian I find each day a struggle, I do not identify with the false teachings and sin which the enemy is forcing upon the world. It is refreshing to hear your words of truth. God bless you.
Jesus says nothing of the sort. Stop this nonsense. Jesus would be appalled. The Christ consciousnesses manifested through Jesus is available to all. This "war" language. This tone of "hate" is damaging. I pray you receive clarity relative to the teachings of Jesus. Jesus teaches Love. Pure and simple. Trumpets and horses aren't going to come out of the sky "as the world ends." Literal interpretations of the writings about Jesus do so much harm. Please. Consider the damage your words inflict on all things good and loving.
I see no hatred of damage in his speech. He is right though... this world is temporary and we are not friends of this world. This is why Jesus told the rich man to sell off his properties and follow him. Even though that man followed the commandments... His heart is still focused on his material pleasures that he cannot let go.
@@matronarona Look at the titles of some of his other videos - Is Coronavirus God's Punishment? Do you really think God is sitting in the clouds with a ledger keeping track of each person's transgressions so it can punish its creation? We create our own heaven or hell through how we respond to worldly happenings / how we use or misuse the worldly resources God provides. The world is here for us to learn how to be closer to God. It is all God's creation - the trees, the water, the animals, the human beings. Language of punishment and war and obedience . . . its tyrannical and based on the mistaken belief that God is a King. And, to the extent it brings anyone closer to God, it is through fear of damnation. Fear never leads to anything good and loving. The Church's history demonstrates this very well. Indeed, this God is King / Kingdom of Heaven business is a paradigm created by humans, and one which the Church has emulated through its hierarchy. (and it is a business . . . how do you think the good Father's rent gets paid?). Here is what we should remember . . . there is NOTHING wrong with us. We weren't born sinners. We are God's creation. We are loved. And God will ALWAYS give us exactly what we need in order to achieve Divine Union . . . at least as close to Divine Union as we can muster given the myriad worldly distractions. Peace to you, and love. Not hellfire and damnation.
@@bobbieshapiro275 Hello my jewish brother, deliver yourself and repent, your elders have lied to you, you are damning your soul in this temporal world. Become the elect and deny the Star of Remphan, we know who you are Jew.
I have to be honest: I don’t care for the world. It’s full of war, political corruption, sheep, liars, filth, greed and the list goes on. The quicker this age ends and Christ comes back, the better off we’ll be. I pray for death all the time. I want to be in paradise. Only the materialistic and shallow love the world. This world isn’t where it’s at.
Jesus Christ did speak those words and I do believe He meant them. But He also said to call no man teacher/rabbi which I don't completely understand. That is the one verse I have trouble understanding fully.
@@soulstorm8806I think this scripture explains it. 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. So, if we are taught by the Holy Spirit, which with we are anointed as born again believers, then Christ our Lord is our teacher. John 10:2-5 [2]But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. [3]To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. [4]And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. [5]And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Dear Father.. I have a question related to this topic.. I am new to christianity, so please forgive my ignorance.. But in genesis, every time God creates something he states that it is GOOD.. He does so several times.. And in John 3:16-17 it says: "For god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that everyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".. My question is: if God loves the world and sees creation as being good, why shouldnt we also love the world and see it as good?? Should we not each be like channels of gods will in the world, and therefore care for it?? I hope you will find the time to answer my question.. May you walk with God🙏
Oh, but God has touched it gently with special people like yourself. Can't even imagine what heaven will be like. I see evil, I hear it too, know it's nasty hand. But Christ Jesus as well showed us what beauty there is here in love, a precious guide to our real love....can't live in fear, but faith in hope for our eternal life with Him.
I found the deadly sins as a good teacher. A guide of what to avoid in order to survive and thrive. I suffer from all of them...but l am aware and name it when it comes up. Worth studing them as a teacher.
So this monk thinks that we should avoid all the good joys that G-d has put into this world? Is this really want G-d wants? Did G-d create beautiful music, trees, mountains, oceans, food, water, all for us to ignore? Will G-d be pleased that we ignored the joys of the world?
Thank God that brings you to teach the true faith. I am Eritrean Orthodox and I believe that your teachings are very true. May God give you grace over grace, father Spyridon.
Quick question, I met god like physically when I was little living in the forest, and now back in the city the attacks of the devil are daily, do you think it’s easier to be in peace when in nature? I found it so.
The world and it's systems are the fullness of the original sin, which has grown into a tree. We must extricate it from the inside first, and then we can be IN it and not OF it. The amount of the world we have inside is the measure to which we will.suffer when it falls. It is on fire and be watchful. 😊 Love your teachings.
To seek to be a friend to this world, is to be an enemy of God, the world that God built for us to live in ? LOL not like he was trying to tempt us with anything at that point was he ?
Saint Matthew 6:19-21 Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth: where the rust and moth consume and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up to yourselves treasures in heaven: where neither the rust nor moth doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where thy treasure is, there is thy heart also.
