Yep. IGN is a joke. They are "urinalists" not journalists. They rate games depending on if they conform to their own toxic identity politics. They are activists and their opinions are null and void.
Pretty frustrating how many reviews are calling it a Soulslike when it 100% is NOT a Soulslike. Shows how little these "professional" gaming journalist clowns actually know about gaming.
@@Yamato-t3d it is not it's a action adventure RPG. A boss rush is a game where you only fight bosses one after another this is not like that yes this game has a lot of bosses but it also has a lot of other stuff it has side missions and some exploration
50? Where? Oh… you’re cheap aren’t you? Game price is weird and inconsistent. You can find the best games ever for 20 ish or lower. And the worst game ever could come out tomorrow and be 70 dollars cause 70 is the ceiling for a standard game, not a seal of PS studios quality game because there doesn’t exist a quality seal ON PRICE. Conclusion? Last I checked this is 60, maybe Steam got a deal because of their policy of always having the lowest price on the market.
People's issue with this game is thinking its a Souls-like. Its not. Its a standard action game more akin to Devil May Cry. The developers even said as much. If your expectations are of an Elden Ring style game, you will be disappointed.
Souls games are only 15 years old, action RPG, hack & Slash, and character action games existed well before and will continue well after the souls fad is over.
Yeah, people's idea of review scores is weird. Its like anything less than a 9 is crap. There are games that reviewed with 5s and 6s that I enjoyed quite a lot. Below a 5 is when you need to start worrying.
You know what I'm happy that's it's not a souls like game as I'm 56 and '100% no where as fast as I used to be at gaming so hearing it's not going to be one of them games that takes 50 go's at beating one boss! Makes me even more happy that I pre-ordered it
If you can i would love to hear your take on how hard is it? I have slight cordination problems that stop me from playing games where you have to act in an instant😅
Yeah last I heard was that Black myth Wukong isn’t like Elden Ring or Souls like games and it’s a bit more simple. I’m still buying it and tbh I’m Glad Its not like Elden because I don’t have the time to put into that kind of game right now
How is a 8/10 politicized? What politics allowed Elden Ring to win GOTY even though that was also a eastern game? What politics would prevent IGN to profit off of the absolutely insane Chinese market with billions of dollars being thrown around? None.
@speedforce8970 eastern? There is a political difference between China and Japan. Japan good, China evil. We're not banning japanese hardware and apps, are we? South Korean phones are not banned, either, are they? China is China.
@Deeplycloseted435 But I thought IGN was pro Sony? If that is the case, Black Myth should have gotten a 10/10. Instead it got the reviews that it deserves from whomever.
SBI dont approach game devs, the game devs approach them. they are a consulting company, please learn what it is you are actually mad about before commenting.
@Fezzy976 That's not inherently true at all. SBI has, in fact, approached several studios, Game Science included. Thankfully, Game Science turned them down, only for SBI to turn to slander as a result. Better inform yourself next time
One or two things happen. Either Playstation made a time exclusive deal or Xbox seen this game isn't optimized well since it not even running great on PC. If it's not running great on PC there's no way it's going to be fine on console. I see why it was said it didn't meet Xbox standards. That refund request on pre-orders going to hit the roof. This remind me of that over hyped The Day Before game and if I'm not mistaken it was made by Chinese developers too
@Bandxit NO. Have you not seen PC reviews just from the Benchmark from this game. Frame Rates drop even from powerful PC's. If it's not optimized for PC than ist sure as sh!t isn't optimized for any console which means Consoles are getting a downgraded version 100%. And yes, I am a PC Gamer.
@Bandxit clearly you blind as a bat when you don't see PC isn't stable. Developers releasing a broken game for PC that was built for PC. Nothing to do with Xbox dumb dumb
I’m so sick of that argument it’s like people that don’t want to like the game or continuing to use this argument that it’s not a souls like some sort of issue against the game when the studio has been saying all along that it’s not a souls like not to expect a souls like and it’s like people are just choosing not to hear that for some reason and going into it to use that against the game as if they were misled when in reality they just chose not to listen
Idk wtf is going on with the sudden hate for the souls genre but the game plays more like a souls game than a regular action game like dmc. Souls like doesn't mean it has to be challenging or hard af etc. Also the devs can call it a soccer game if they want but if you watch the gameplay videos, it's a grounded, steady and mechanics heavy game with some stamina management. Definitely not like a character action game etc like dmc.
@@sandwich4916I’m pretty sure if the developers are saying it’s not a souls like and they ya know made the game then ima go with what they are saying my favourite genre is souls likes and me personally I aswell thought yo this new souls like looks amazing ima get it but not every game that has bosses and a stamina system has to be a souls like
kinda major thing with a souls like is losing ur xp or currency on death from hard hitting enemies and somehow get back where you died with limited health potions and no health regen out of combat, so that gives alotta tension not to die or even get hit, wukong doesn't have that (idk about the health regen, potions and mayb self heal and mana regen or potions for that), but you keep ur xp or currency but you respawn back at a checkpoint without losing anything, the biggest complaint i heard, there is no map
@@RocketJr. losing xp and getting back to it isnt a major mechanic in any souls game or even souls likes unless you are trying hard to level up. Enemies respawn, it doesnt matter. You only lose time if you ever die because you'd need to farm souls/runes again You seem to not have played any of the games at all.
Black Myth is NOT a Fromsoftware game, they even said it is NOT "souls like". This is the whole reason I am interested, I have no interest in Dark Souls or any thing "Souls Like" Dying to the same boss a thousand time does not seem interesting to me at all. I have not nor do I have any interest in Elden ring. So Every one thinking this is a souls like, you are mistaken. And its only 59.99 on PC.
I was hoping it would be harder, I love dying to the same boss a thousand times. Maybe they'll have a lethal mode like ghost of tsushima so we can both enjoy it in our own way
@@chrishansel95 well if you enjoy a challenge souls likes are perfect for you. You just haven’t raised your game to overcome the challenge presented :)
@@chrishansel95just letting you know that this game doesn’t have a difficulty setting meaning you can’t play on easy or normal mode, at the same time some reviews say that there are many hard bosses as you progress through the game and that you’ll require to level up a lot to defeat them which is the same case with souls games maybe you haven’t played them but if you die to a boss 100 times that just means you’re under level or maybe your play style is wrong, wukong isn’t a souls like but don’t pretend that you won’t die 2 times to the same boss you’ll probably die a lot and i mean a lot more
Why is this titled "do not buy this game" while you are only theorizing that it could be bad. Edit: and another video where your just reading other people's work....... Come on man! You said yourself your focusing on the content but what does this video give me that other videos on the same subject don't??? And to that point other videos have more content and observations based on FACTS.
If game journalist are saying not to buy it… this is Hogwarts Legacy 2. A game gamers should play and point at when the media tries to erase it from history.
@@micshazam842 sadly you can’t buy a brain nor understand that perhaps you might need to enjoy the wizarding world before buying a game on that universe?
Majority of people don't care about game journalist, I bought ps5 and pre ordered this game. If game journalist don't like it then it's a must buy game. It will be good
@@T-M-N-T from what i know so far is, there's one allegation post on the studio regarding management issues, Ign took that comment a step further and asked the studio behind it. The studio didn't respond to Ign hence the 8/10 review and their comparison. I don't endorse or anything but there's a vid on asmogold about the myth wukong thing and he is giving some points.
Wym the game hasnt even been out for four days whos saying that the early access codes yes but the actual game if you preorder doesn't come out until the 19th
@@ronthorn3 I like how whenever I see gamers talk about reviews and it’s someone like IGN, their scoring metric is literally average in most cases, like an 8/10 and 9/10 means is a GREAT game But people really just want something to complain about given IGNs reputation of a few bad/awful takes Despite giving the game a favourable score
@@succboah2000yeah exactly also I don't get people bashing reviewers for giving something they haven't and could not watch/play a lower score than the score they expected. Like why tf are you salty ign or any reviewer gave it an 8/10 while you thought it will be a 10/10 game, it hasn't even came out bro😭
@@tanmaycaptain411 had any other gaming outlet or independent reviewer gave the same review score nobody would be critical the same way they are to IGN, just given their bad reputation and negative outlook from audience. Like man I get they had some god awful reviews but people need to chill with them lmao, wukong got a good review and aren’t they doing another review for console?
Imma wait till Skillup’s review comes out. I still remember what happened to cyberpunk 2077. Great reviews from mainstream gaming journalist yet nobody could show their own gameplay. Skillup was the only person I know who didn’t upload his review until the embargo was fully lifted.
@@0nepotential yeh but his review wasn’t negative, all he said was he never played it on console so he couldn’t speak on it, which is a red flag. Kinda like what’s going on here
Usually these games are more optimized on Consoles than on PC.. and eventually down the line it ends up performing best on PC. In some cases it takes years for them to finally optimize it for PC.
The majority says whatever the ones paying want them to😅 they have to.. Because otherwise they get out of business. Personally I only look at the metacritic user reviews. At least it's based on opinions of people who bought the game.
It looks much more like Nioh and Nioh 2 games rather than Souls. I know many people call all fighting difficult games "Souls like", even the games from Team Ninja but it's not correct. Both type of games are difficult to master but the gameplay and especially combat is absolutely different.
Wokong souls like, when even the developers have repeatedly said so that it is not. And this makes one realize how much incompetence is rampant in the video game "industry" for both intratenitors and news outlets
The cope is insane. Maybe it's just not an absolute masterpiece and is just a good game? Because that's what the review said. How is a 8/10 bad? That's amazing for a first time dev team I think
@@speedforce8970 what am I coping with? Even if it is an legit 8 doesn’t change my opinion of ign or any of the game ‘journalists’. It’s taken years to have such a low opinion of them, one legit reviews not going to change anything
“Don’t buy it on PlayStation” is such a wild statement. A more accurate statement would be don’t buy it on PlayStation YET because August 19th is supposed to be the PS5 review embargo date so we’ll know if the game runs well or not then.
I think 'souls-like ' is starting to become an overused umbrella term that could mean so many different things to so many people, almost rendering it useless. Sometimes it just means hard that average games with check points, limited healing.
Well the game is 60 bucks. If you are fine with waiting then wait. The option is still there. Eventually there will be no more physical. So prepare for that in the near future unfortunately.
the statement I saw on Twitter someone said that people just want good games to fail this is so true...I enjoy the fanboy and I enjoy the console wars but damn these people really want a good game to fail it's just so sad......the statement holds a lot of Truth people just want games to fail because there's someone because negative titles get clicks that's just the gaming industry we live in
Bruh, even if that may be true. That doesn't mean the reviewers have that same agenda. Like connect the dots my brother. Not everyone operates under a hive mind. A fricking 8/10 is an amazing score. If they had an agenda they would have given it lower. Like come on now.
Yessir! The souls-like genre is so played out to me. Im a big DMC fan, and the last game I enjoyed that reminded me of DMC was FF16, and that game was phenomenal. This is a day one purchase for me
The game is available on the Playstation store and there is a count down. I purchased the game on my PS5. There should be a countdown of when it's available to play once you have it downloaded after purchase. I'm soooo hype for this game!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Announced back in October 2022, as reported on by our friends at TechRadar, the E.U. announced that the 2023 ΕΕΙ would have a new lower limit that set the maximum power consumption level for all TVs at 90W, which is significantly lower than the 190W that new 8K TVs can consume. 2. 3. 2023. A quote that is available to everyone .
I don't care what they say I'm buying it besides I pre-ordered the collectors edition and deluxe edition because I'm a hardcore collector and I saved my money for it since it was first announced
Wow! I find it interesting how arguably the two most anticipated, new IP games of 2024 are not necessarily being panned for their story or gameplay. They're getting negative reviews more so due to "lack of inclusivity of women and diversity" and "oversexualization" or so-called "exaggeration of the main character's body proportions." The two games I speak of are Black Myth: Wukong and Stellar Blade by the way.
Theonly valid reason I see not to buy this game is because it was made by the Chinese and supporting Chinese devs means supporting China(because the Chinese government always gets it's grubby fingers in nearly every Chinese company somehow) any other reason like diversity or whatever bs reason people cone up with isn't even worth talking about. But if you like the look of the game and don't care about supporting China then go for it, it definitely does look like a fun game.
You preordered the game for day 1 release anyway. I mean what the hell else is there to play? Edit: souls like being it’s from that region? Looks like devil may cry combat with some Elden ring ‘vibes’ to it. Thoughts?
You might not be corporate media, but you pretty much feel like them. Regurgitating stuff for content... a glorified troll with the facade of a reviewer just to get some reactions in the next video when you say you are wrong... Feels dishonest, come on man...
I think my biggest issue is that if you buy a physical edition right now...all you'll be getting is a code in a box and not a disc from what I understand. I have DSL with a low cap of 150gb a month...for a game like this? Digital Only is NOT an option as I'm not expecting it to be less than 50gb...heck I'm not expecting it to be lower than 70gb at it's lowest, to download it in any decent time frame I'd have to go to my cousin's house and beg to use her high speed high/unlimited data internet she has for working from home.
Honestly, I can't even keep up anymore. I already have enough to play for years to come, and will always be able to buy my "new" games on sale and in a polished state 💟🌌☮️
I absolutely LOVE how every review today has started out say BMW is NOT a souls like, as if all the reviewers don't listen to the devs, it's actually kinda crazy
THANK YOU! been telling everyone PC ports or versions of AAA games are ntn but beta testers expecting the quality of a console game into a computer screen, idiots
I hate that's the current state of things. There's no guarantee it will run ok.....I'm very worried about GTAVI. It has any of these worries.......oof.
You consumers are bad man. It’s like it kills yall to wait for a review. Why pre-order a game before actually waiting for a review? That’s like buying a car before test driving it. Yall have to do better
@@LoneWolfe_XX first off, a game isn't an investment of thousands of dollars like a car so bad example. It's $60 ($70 if you get the digital deluxe). If someone wants to pre-order that's their choice.
@@LoneWolfe_XX why are you caring about someone spending their money on something they want? Mind your own damn business. And that car point is invalid as f compared to a videogame. Rethink all of what you commented on and try again.
The game is not running well on pc is because people have the game early before the day one patch and most likely the game is not quite finished yet and the performance is the last thing to be updated and people need to keep in mind that this is the studios first console game the devs have said there will be a day one patch im not worried im looking foward to this game im excited to play it

Hang on a minue... since when did FromSoftware ever release an *optimised* game? Did I miss it? All their games have frame pacing issues and/or stuttering and/or framerate drops, and that includes Elden Ring. I doubt Black Myst Wukong is any worse than a typical FromSoftware game at launch and likely it will run better because FromSoftware might be able to design great games but they are far from a technically competent developer. In fact, their best game in my opinion is Demon's Souls on the PS5 and that's because Bluepoint remade it!!!
