For me RU-vid closes automatically and Netflix won’t load. It just stay on the Netflix screen and login won’t pop up. I sent an email to them but zero response. Screen Mirror is not even an option that’s on mine and got the same one. American Express will contact them for me and disputing the charge for faulty equipment…

It works for my both android phone and iPhone. I don’t have the slow response like this video. No issue for playing music and navigation. Only one thing I don’t like, from time to time you need to unplug it to avoid connection issue
OH Man! I am watching an reading as many reviews about thos an other devices before I buy one, haven't found one 100% positive experience for any brand. This one was like lookingat a Windows XP PC computer turn on. I really want one that works without lagging or dying a few weeks/months later.
To everyone who has a similar issue there is a little button that you can see through the vent. Give it 2 quick presses and a third long press. Hold down until your blue light starts again. This worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you. I think you could also hold that button to reset it.
Absolutely no need to connect this device via Bluetooth that’s why you are having these slow problems. Simply go into settings on the car screen, select WiFi, open WiFi hotspot on phone settings and connect that way. Works perfect and none of the issues you are experiencing by connecting the wrong way
also got issue on Golf GTI. connection ok, but touch screen not always working, need to disconnect and re-connect few times to be able to use with touch screen. annoying
I have a samsung phone. I used to be able to mirror hulu live on TV at work. Now it says I can't mirror using hulu. Bummed me out. They don't want you watching movies with people i guess
I have the same device and when I try to play RU-vid or Netflix it says connect to internet, but when I go into settings I just can’t get the wifi from the device to link up with the wifi on my phone. The same wifi is showing on both but they won’t connect. Can anyone help? I only bought this for those two functions, my car already has CarPlay. 2024 Hyundai Tucson, if that helps.
I've got almost everything working in my 2023 Toyota Highlander, except Android Auto... Error msg saying I needed to pair my phone (S24 Ultra) with the device, the very device I'm already connected with.
I have the same ottocast device I just received and it's not working. I have an 2019 Lexus es350 luxury and an android phone GS23 ultra and it saying at the bottom right ''Device not Activated''. But it says I'm successfully connected through bluetooth. Any icon or app I try to click on, a message keep popping up about turn on my wifi hotspot on my mobile device, but after even doing that the same messages keep popping up..... Any advice? This device has been every bit of a pain, but as advertised a simple plug n play!
Mine still doesn’t work. Sorry to hear you are also having issues. Maybe I’ll open it up and see what’s inside and if there is anything we can do to get it working.
@DadTechTV Yea thanks for the response man. I think what's going on also is that it's not "brand new" but repackaged/refurbished bugged out devices 🤣🤣 their selling now! I got another one coming tomorrow. Let's see how my luck runs with this one 🤷🏾
@2114tsweet I got one that worked great for 1 week. Then says you tube update. So they sent me another one that donevthe sane thing after a fay. They sent ne a link that doesn't work expecting me to update the thing
So team I think I understand what's happening with the RU-vid app and the Android auto . I think you have to add the network settings separately for the RU-vid and the Netflix apps. It seems that the Android auto will connect as long as Bluetooth and wireless are working simultaneously. But if you want the RU-vid and the Netflix apps to run you have to separately allow them access to your Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone or some Wi-Fi source. edit: this means you have to turn off your wifi on your phone and turn on your Hotspot. so ultimately android auto cant run if you use the Netflix or RU-vid apps. its either one or the other but not both. Can someone please confirm this is the behavior they're seeing because I have to turn off my Android auto and then click on the RU-vid apps and allow them network access. Has anyone figured out a way to get the RU-vid apps and Netflix apps to work without having to turn off Android auto on the play2video device?
I had to connect it to my in car WiFi connection & was able to log in on both Netflix & RU-vid instantly. But I can't get Android Auto to work inside the device
How were you able to connect it? I can’t get it to connect to the internet. No matter how many times I try the wifi from the Ottocast to my phone won’t connect.
This thing is a pain in the ass. Definitely not plug and play. And now you're saying it can't play youtube?? That was the whole reason i got it- its literally on box!
Now i can't input my password for my mobile hotspot. The mazda scroll wheel won't select numbers or letters. What a waste of time this junk turned out to be. Definitely prefer a cord.
Not sure if you watched the whole video but the device completely froze up and now won’t boot up in any vehicle. Tons of people with problems with this device. But I’m sure you might get one that works fine so go for it!
If you break it open, it’s a simple device that many companies are rebranding for themselves. So a ton of crap companies selling the same crap with different names.
This device is shit. Worked for about a month. They told me i meed to purchase a new one. Wtf. I asked why. They never responded after that. Shitty overpriced Chinese crap
