I bought these a year ago thinking they would be a game changer but I realized I hate the heel of them, they definitely feel longer than they need to be and I think you nailed it on the head, they do feel clunky

OK, so I have every color way of the 990’s V5, I’m not even a sneaker guy, I just love them so much. After purchasing these, I have the Y2K and the off-white - I’m literally in love. Everybody that sees them on, gives mixed reviews, but I don’t care. These are the most comfortable sneakers and they’re cool looking / modern. I absolutely love everything about them and I am going to be 43 years old this month so say what you want, this works for me, and I’m a dad so 🎉🎉 winning

Tbh, some of those old-timers you see wearing NB's actually are wearing customized NB's. Some of them cost a nice bit of cash. My childhood friend used to work in a New Balance store in Manhattan many years ago. People are actually prescribed some of those joints.

I have ordered 4 pair at least of the 990v4 and go a half size down has never worked for me, I would have even preferred in some cases to go a half size up

If I got my hands on a dope nautica windbreaker let's say blue/white and felt like rocking them with a purple pair of cross×color jeans I'd do it.

How is this 3 cons? With the last two you've only stated the pros. 1) & 3) are basically the same. 2) isn't even a con 🤔

1) the sneaker is hard to match 2) the sneaker is in a sizing that is not typical, if you buy the wrong size online, it can be annoying to have to return it and then buy the right size. That's a con 3) Clunkiness isn't just style, it's more of a hassle to wear clunky shoes. Gets in the way, could catch your heel down some narrow stairs. It's not the same as style...
